Hot dog with ketchup and relish

Best hot dogs ever! Excellent service and atmosphere. For anyone riding the T to Downtown this is a hotspot for really good hot dogs! Just get off at Steel Plaza and take the US Steel Tower access for the best hot dogs in Pittsburgh! How to get to Wiener World on the T: 1. Get off the T at Steel Plaza 2. At the top of the escalator or stairs, turn left. 2a. If you take the elevator up, on the mezzanine turn right. 3. Turn right at the schedule rack. 4. Keep left towards US Steel Tower and go through the revolving door. 4a. There is a Wiener World sign in the US Steel Tower access. 6. Once in the US Steel Tower, go past Istanbul Grille and Wiener World is straight ahead next to Italian Village Pizza.

Great stop for hot dogs, patty melts, and fish sandwiches! Come early or call in for no wait Over the past few weeks, I was able to order a few different items in the menu. I first ordered a combo with a chili cheese dog and gravy fries. The chili was overloaded on the hot dog and messy, in a good way. The gravy was just ok, not much flavor. Next, I tried the patty melt. It was amazing! Literally melts in your mouth. Right about of onions and cheese. Finally the best for last, the huge fish sandwich! Enough to split and feed two people. Comes with lettuce, tomato, and tarter. Crispy on the outside, flaky on the inside Eveything was hot and fresh and good portion for price

This is my favorite lunch spot downtown. It's your typical no frills take out joint. I get the same thing every time I go, though I know I should try new items. I always get a combo which includes a natural casing dog, fries, and a drink. I take a walk on the wild side and get cheese sauce on my hot dog and fries. Everything comes to under $10, which can't be beat! They have all beef hot dogs as well. In addition to hot dogs, they have hoagies, a fish sandwich, and ice cream! The staff is always sooo friendly and even though it gets a little busy around lunch time, they have a great system and they get you in and out quickly. There is no where to sit in here but they do have a ledge where you can stand and eat if you choose to. If you live/work/visit downtown, this place is worth a try!

If you want a special hot dog or unique sandwiches, this is the place to get it. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted with a warm welcome and smile. You order at the counter and you can either choose to eat there or take it togo, there are no chair seating, just table tops. Even though it's downtown the parking wasn't bad and I was able to get street parking easily, although there is a lot of loitering around the area but that's downtown for you! I definitely got my Chicago dog fix and the large fries were plenty!

Chili dog and fries to go. Outstanding!

In town on business and saw this place out of my hotel room window. DELICIOUS! Chili dog with a small side of fries. Perfect bun, mild spiced dog, chili with a tad bit of heat. Super crispy fries. Super nice people work there! What a find!

A co-worker pointed out Weiner World during a lunch walk as a well known and established eatery in PgH. Sure, why not, I am a hot dog fan (especially with good, hot chili on top). I proceeded with a combo meal for lunch namely 2 dogs (kielbasa and beef) with drink for about $9. I walked outside about 3 blocks away and started munching away. The chili was not quite lukewarm but since I walked about 5 mins, thought that may be normal for food to cool slightly. The issue was that the hot dog itself was not hot at all and tasted like it was taken straight out of a fridge and not fully heated to the proper internal temperature as it was still cold. I discarded the rest of the food. As suspected, I felt like crap hours later and the rest of the night. I then recalled seeing those dogs on the grill but it none were steaming hot and sitting out cool in rows as they put them in buns. I seriously doubt that they even temped these weiners before serving.

Come for the wieners stay for the love. Lots of yummy things on the menu at this grill-style wiener shop that's been a Smithfield Street staple for years. I'll sometimes get a plain dog or one with cheese and often with fries. Other times just fries or a hoagie. There's a long counter where you can order take away or stand there and eat your way through the wiener love. Because once you've had one...

Came here for the first time for lunch. Friend ordered their lunch special of 2 hot dogs with a drink and I ordered the lunch special of a hot dog with chili cheese fries and a drink. I ordered the beef casing hot dog with brown mustard and onions. What's Hot - Price. For our 2 lunch specials, the total was around $17. All their items are decently priced. Their hot dogs, sandwhiches, wraps, etc... are pretty much under $10 a piece. - Menu variety. Their standard menu is above the order register and it's pretty straight forward and easy to understand. However, they also have a regular menu with more items, including their sandwiches, salads, wraps, catering, and ice cream. FYI- if you already know what you want and it's going to be quick, go in their "back" door, which is a little further to the side of the entrance. - Quality of food. Their food is made on the spot. Their hot dogs, fries, etc... are all made in front of you. Their hot dog has a nice snap when you bite into it, which I like. - Portions. Their portions are a decent size. It's not too much that it'll stuff you, but it's good. - Location. It's in the heart of downtown Pitt, so it should be pretty easy for yinz to find. Haha... :P What's Not - Quality of food. I'm not saying their food is bad. It's good. It doesn't stand out, though. For example, my chili cheese fries had the standard canned chili with velveeta cheese. In other words, I've had better. - Standing room only. My friend and I went a little before lunch, so it wasn't crowded. There's a counter for you to stand at and eat. There are napkins, with malt vinegar, ketchup, etc... But you're either going to stand or take out. Final Answer Would come back. Probably not my first choice, but it's good, decent, and reliable.

A fine cooked on a grill snappy dog. A good tasting dog, with natural casing that snaps when you bite into it, that is grilled with they have the usual condiments. Love the long sliced pickle on top. If you are not in the mood for a dog, step to the back and get a really good Italian hoagie. Dogs in the front...hoagies in the back.

Howwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww have I not reviewed this place yet!!!???? My name is Hitt, I'm from Pittsburgh PA. I do many things but one of the things I like to do is experience everything I humanly can from foods to places plus people and things. Rather than write a long review and clutter the reviews with anymore long reviews (no knock, you guys are great) I'm just gonna get right to the point... This place? -Has a Kings selection of wieners (lol) -Is surprisingly very clean! -The workers are really nice. -The fries are great -The fish sandwich is the sleeper hit. -No seating but stand and eat counters make it really unique. -Gets PACKED at lunch time, go about 10:30 you'll be one of the only ones and the food will be fresh cause it's prepped for the lunch rush. -don't be shy, stuff your face with their wieners.

couldn't miss "Pittsburgh's most famous sandwich" while in town…read more They have a bunch of locations so it's pretty easily accessible. We walked about 10 min and change from our hotel to the strip district location. It is a small little place made up for by its attention grabbing wall art of famous and loved Pittsburgh figures. The menu is easy enough. Pick a protein (there are many options) to go on the sandwich which is the standard cole slaw, cheese, tomato, and fries tucked between two slices of thick, soft white bread. As a vegetarian, I was pleased to see a vegetarian option with both a cheese and an egg and cheese version. GF and I shared and it is not a bad sandwich to share bc the thing is massive. That isn't to say that I couldn't have eaten another half bc I absolutely could have. The thing is so large and busting with ingredients I wondered how I could fit it for a bite but where there's a will, there's a way. It was excellent. What a great combo of flavors and textures. I only wish there was more cheese. I do feel like with the cheese version there should be more than what is in the version with meat but call me crazy. I could eat that every day.

Medium loudness, mainly from people's conversations. Went to bar area, little to right of entering and ordered. Asked for their special and the asked for the type of meat. Didn't know so they suggested I try pastrami and the capicola. Ordered and waited maybe 10-15min and they gave us our order in a big paper bag. It was heavy! Opened up one of the sandwiches to share and nicely the sandwich was cut in half already. Just need to tear the paper wrapper to separate. As you may know, sandwich has Cole slaw and fries on it, so it's thick. Preferred the capicola over the pastrami. Decent amount of meat on the sandwich but waaaayyy more fries than anything. The close slaw adds some crunch and tartness to a pretty mild sandwich. Overall, food was underwhelming. I'd stop by again but for some kielbasa or something ethnic. Otherwise I'd probably just try another nearby place to eat.

Now, I am going to take you on a journey just like the books Belle read so strap in. We had a 5:45 PM reservation, and even arrived a few minutes early. The hostess/employee (I don't want to assume positions) took me upstairs for a table right by the window, which will be an awesome view when the construction finishes. It was also a beautiful sight of that part of the city as-is. When I was seated, I was one of a few tables seated. It was not full or even busy at that time. Also, as we were seated, we were given waters. My friend joined me about 5-7 minutes after the reservation time. We then ordered our drinks at about 6:00/6:05 PM. From there, we waited and did not meet our waiter, who will be referred to as sweet baby angel Max from here on out, until about 6:20 PM. We ordered an appetizer and two entrees at around this time. Our orders had some modifications but nothing major. By this time, many more tables were seated upstairs and others seemingly received their alcoholic drinks and even appetizers by the time we received only our drinks around 6:30-6:40. Our drinks were big, too, which is great, but that also meant we had to drink them a little more quickly due to the time constraints with the show. We were enjoying ourselves but noticed multiple more tables receiving not only their drinks and apps but also their entrees. Once 6:55 came, we had to tell sweet baby angel Max about our predicament. I will be honest and say we suggested for our drinks to be comped at least - not only for the wait and lack of courtesy with everyone else receiving their items before us despite our arrival and reservation time, but for the fact that we would have maybe 15 minutes to eat, finish our drinks, pay, take our food back to our cars, and make curtain time. What sweet baby angel Max did next flabbered our gasts -- he said not only will our drinks be comped but our whole meal will be comped. He also helped pack our food and kept it in the back so we didn't have to worry about going back to our cars. We made sure to tip him with all we had! We are so glad we did because when we returned after the show, he had the kitchen remake the food and kept it warm for us. When you go to The Eagle, ask for sweet baby angel Max and you will not be disappointed with him, the service, or the food. Because even when they may mess up? The Eagle gets it right with their classy attitude and positive treatment of their customers. You definitely have multiple return customers just from this encounter. Thank you!!!

We were lucky to grab seats at the bar because this place was hopping.....like, "do we hover…read moreawkwardly or commit?" level busy. Thankfully, it worked out. Recommend making a reservation! While we were definitely feeling a bit nostalgic for the Gaucho of the past (RIP Smallman Street era), we were willing to give this new-to-us downtown location a fair shot... and it delivered. The waitstaff was friendly and attentive...present without being too present, which honestly deserves its own award. We went with two sandwiches: the carne and the pescado, and upgraded one with the papas, because obviously. Both were delicious and did exactly what we needed them to do: make us stop thinking about ordering more food (for a few minutes, at least). But let's be real, the house-made chimichurris are the main event. The Ajo? Addictive. The Cebolla? My personal favorite. The Pimentón? Tangy and doing the most (in a good way). And the classic chimichurri continues to quietly carry the entire operation like the MVP it is. Washed it all down with some local beers and called it what it was: a perfect night bite with just enough nostalgia to keep things interesting.
