The large dog area had a big open space for socializing and play. It also had some agility equipment, so if you want to train your dog on an apparatus, this is the place to do it. In the large dog area, there are also some trails to enjoy with beautiful wild flowers. After the dog park, we walked around the outer edge of the full park which was wooded and mostly dirt trails (some paved near the entrance). You need a park pass to enter and we bought a day pass for $7. It was a nice stop!

It's an easy loop with plenty of benches along the trail. Trees, wildlife and a babbling brook make it just delightful. Schoen Laufen translates to Beautiful Walk, and that is exactly what this is. History: Mill Pond was created when the Menomonee River was dammed to supply water power for a mill. The mill has long been removed, but the pond, dam, and spillway still exist at the south end of Mill Pond park. Highly recommended

It's a long curving park with ample parking, lots of dogs with their humans visit here but I've never stepped in any irresponsibility so that says something about the people who frequent this park. Mosquitoes were a little aggressive but what are you going to do, a creek runs through the middle.

I opted to go by myself, which was nice because I could walk and read at my own pace. Parking was ample. Their are wooded walking trails with scenic stops. I started with the informative Feed Mill. Staff was abundant for questions but they had well marked signs all over. I wandered through a war camp (?) which was not as well marked but they were starting to tear down so maybe the signs went first. Next I checked out the General Store, another camp setup, two farm homes, followed by the sugar shack where they sold Maple Cotton Candy. Let me tell you, this is the elite flavor of cotton candy. There were also stands with food, beverages (unclear if they sold beer), and novelties. They had a silent auction, raffle, and antiques. Plenty of activities for kids but it is a bit of walking. It took about 3,000 steps to do the full loop. I am definitely headed back with a group to attend their Blacksmith Day on October 7th.

Oh my gosh what a fabulous new playground in Grafton! I think it opened last year (?) but recently…read morewe made our first visit after seeing it shared online. It's so vast, colorful, and inviting to kids of all ages. We have a toddler, and our nephew who is a similar age, was also with us. Sometimes playgrounds can be a little too high/advanced for their age, but All My Friends Playground has a wide selection of areas to play on, including lower and less intense obstacles. Tons of slides and swings, climbing gyms, merry go round, teeter totter, and more. Plus there is a massive (and wonderfully colorful) butterfly that spreads shade over the middle of the playground. Other great parts about this park: it's completely fenced in by a lovely pickets that are all engraved by local families. It keeps all the kiddos safe and contained. Also the squishy flooring is a huge plus. It's so comfy to run around on and makes for a safer place if anyone falls. Really love the creativity and fun that went into creating this new play area. Thanks Grafton, we'll be back!
