I've been torn over whether or not I should post a review but I've decided it's better to share and let the public decide with full knowledge whether or not to attend. Now, this was my experience and I don't what's going on back of house or if my experience is indicative of a typical meal or simply an outlier. I am not from the area and my group's first choice was a different restaurant but they were closed so we gave this new one a shot. The food wasn't amazing but it wasn't bad either and the prices are reasonable. The service left something to be desired and the chairs were very uncomfortable which was unfortunate due to how long it took them to deliver our food. On our arrival, there were only 3 people seated in the whole restaurant. I assumed that we would get our meals fairly quickly. It took a few minutes for them to take our drink order and then our entree order was taken. We proceeded to watch them serve 7 tables including 5 that arrived after us before finally bringing us our food about 15 minutes after we checked in with them about how long it would be. They responded that everything was made fresh to order and offered no apologies for likely forgetting to put our ticket in as we ordered 3 sandwiches and a fried chicken plate. Several other fried chicken plates had been served so it was clear they had forgotten us. I had only water which I didn't drink too much of due to the taste of sulfur but still I would expect that would at least offer a water refill when I was at half a glass or less but alas, no chance of that. Finally, we were served after about an hour and the food was not bad. We got individual checks and one of us paid in cash with a 50 check and the owner took that one and had the audacity to ask if he needed change. Wow! How can you expect someone to offer a 100% tip? He still left a 30% tip which i felt was extra generous given the circumstances. I decided to leave 15% but then I noticed a 3% CC fee and that they seemingly charged sales tax on top of the fee which is not correct. I subtracted the fee from my tip. Apparently, 2 of my other table mates also didn't leave a full tip which I only know because the owner came outside as we were leaving and accosted us. She called people out by name and asked why they didn't tip more. I stayed silent but unfortunately one of us did speak and the owner said we were all banned from her establishment. I've never seen anything like that before and I certainly would not wish that kind of public humiliation on anyone. If I had to guess, this restaurant won't make it very long treating people this way. So, if you don't mind risking public embarrassment or potentially waiting an hour for your potentially slightly above average food, this place is worth a shot as long as you don't mind hard, uncomfortable chairs while you wait. Fantastic food, great service, very cool vibe. We got the wicked burger and the mushroom toast as an appetizer. The mushroom toast was elegant and delicious, and the burger was sensational. One of the better burgers I've had this year. The bacon on it was crisp and salty. The pimento cheese was creamy and delicious, and the meat was perfectly seasoned and cooked. We ordered takeout from The Wicked Pig and everything was fantastic! We tried the brisket, cauliflower au gratin, lettuce wraps with pulled pork, and the wings -- every single item was flavorful and perfectly prepared. You can tell the team puts real care into their food. Even though we took our order to go, the ambiance inside was warm, inviting, and had a great welcoming vibe. We were looking for a new place we haven't heard of. We saw the Wicked Pig in Bay St Louis. Looking at it from the outside, i didn't expect much. Inside it was very cool. Very bbq looking. We ordered pulled pork with tallow fries and coleslaw. The cook came out to talk to us. We were lucky. We missed the lunch crowd, so we had time to hear the history of the Wicked Pig. We told him how much we enjoyed our sandwiches . He spoke highly of his ribs. We're going back to try the ribs. I would recommend the Wicked Pig to everyone that likes great bbq. read more

My husband and I were in Bay St. Louis to celebrate our anniversary and we stopped in the Wicked Pig for lunch. When our server learned that it was our first visit he took the time to tell us about their most popular items. My husband ordered the brisket burger and I got the pulled pork sandwich. Since they make everything except the ketchup and buns in house I asked for extra pickles. I'm so glad I did! Delish! AT LAST! Bay St Louis has a Chef prepared dining experience that is worth the price of admission. BEWARE...the name is deception as this is not a "BBQ joint" unless they have started serving Duck Confit, Shrimp & Grits, or Bao Buns. Had the latter 2 and they were 10 out of 10. Reds were cooked to tender perfection, grits were creamy not gummy and roux was rich in color and flavor. Excellent portions were found on all dishes we ordered. A friend had short ribs which she said were the best she had in a very long time....and that would have been in NOLA. Definitely, not in the Bay. Drinks - Winter Mule and Jalisco Colada - both primo delicioso. The atmosphere was lovely and service was as well. Great drink menu as well as wines and a plethora of beer. I can see reservations being needed soon. There is not one restaurant in Bay St. Louis that compares. Honestly, with this selection of cuisine, price point and service, it will be a hot spot. Quite a few dishes at Anthony's are good, but never will their lasagna be worth $32 or 34 (cannot remember exactly how much it was). I live and eat in Old Town on the regular and have had to eliminate some restaurants from the rotation because inconsistency is prevelant and the dishes served do not support the price point. read more

Wow... I have not enjoyed myself like this in quite some time. My tastebuds were so happy. Incredible dinning experience. For starters we had the fried green tomatoes and brisket bao buns. Highly recommend both. If you are a fried green tomato connoisseur, like myself, it is always a treat when someone can give you a different style and flavor. From the in house lardons, avocado and pistachios to the crunch of the panko breading.The brisket bao buns were some of the best! The buns themselves were light clouds of perfection that delivered the smoky meat and lovely cucumber kimchi punch. Great balance of flavors.. I highly recommend the smoked fried chicken with biscuits and gravy! Portion wise, it's enough for two! 1/2 chicken! The biscuits are made fresh the sausage gravy is done in house, the honey drizzle was just enough to balance the savory smoke of the meats. Did I mention it was smoked AND fried!? Outstanding food and service. I had brisket, it was cut from the point end. Very nice peppery bark and wonderful flavor. You don't need sauce for this one. Coleslaw is best I've had at a restaurant. Wife had pulled pork sandwich and said it was excellent. Very large and pork was tender. She also had a margarita and thought it very good. We were warmly greeted at the door and our table service was excellent. Cloth napkins, nice glasses, place seemed very clean and smelled wonderful. The real smoker is out back! We were not expecting the dining experience we go tonight, and I mean that in the best way possible. The sign outside says "Southern Bistro" and that's a pretty accurate description. The menu is so much more than typical barbecue fare. The brisket tacos were exceptional, and the ribs were over the top amazing. The house made sauce is perfect, and the tallow fries were to die for.
