David Strickler came to our home on 1-day notice, set up a workstation next to the back of his mobile business van, and went to work. He took his time and was conscientious to do a superb job. David sharpened about 15 cutlery and chef knives, one serrated bread knife, a large racheting pruner, a hand-held pruner, an ulu knife. and two pairs of scissors. One large pair had belonged to my mother and are about 75 years old. This is everything I asked him to do. I'm guessing he could have done my ax or other cutting tools. My prunes were pretty dirty and sticky and he cleaned them up great. He also showed me how he ground the base of my Henckel paring knives just a tad to create better contact if used on a board (I hand-hold to pare).
David was here about 3.5 hours. My son hired his services as a birthday gift for me because I love my knives & tools (father taught me to be self-sufficient with diy's). He charged a very fair amount for his unique services.
David seems like a really nice, old-school guy, and did an awesome job. Highly recommend. read more
