I found Paul on yelp and he responded very quickly on a weekend in the evening. He has a mobile business during the day and sharpens knives and scissors from his home after he returns. I dropped my knives on his porch and picked them up after my son went to bed in the evening. He was flexible and communicative. I dropped of 7 knives and my kitchen scissors and it was less than $40 for the whole lot. My knives are better than when they were new and I am blown away. He is so reasonable and did a great job. The purpose of most reviews is for you to choose where you shop, but unless you drive to Home Depot or Lowe's, or to another Ace Hardware 10 miles away, it's Denault's Ace Hardware. So it sort of doesn't matter what I say in this review. You'll go there when you need what they sell. It is distressingly common for reviewers to downrate a store because they once had bad service there. "I'm giving it 3 stars instead of 5 because this morning I had to wait 6 minutes to get my paint mixed." Sheesh, people. Look at the big picture. I live about 1 mile from this store, and I've probably been to it 50 times. I've never had any trouble getting someone to help me or answer a question, and if I did have trouble, I'd be patient, because the wait is faster by far than driving somewhere else or ordering it from Amazon. Great store. Great location. Great selection of merchandise and great use of their limited square footage. Denault's Ace Hardware is a treasure. I hope that it survives real estate growth and development.
