    AFTER (fixed door)

Wow, Tim at Woodmasters Workshop is a miracle man!! Believe it or not, my 2.5 year old tore one of our kitchen cabinet doors in half. He's going to grow up to be the incredible hulk or something. The previous owners installed the cabinets back in 2016. We soon found out that they had discontinued the cabinet line and finding a match for the door was like finding a needle in a haystack. Having the door fixed was our only hope. I called all over San Diego trying to find a wood craftsman who could do it. I received many responses saying "too busy" or "I MAY be able to fix it. I'll have to take a look at it." I also received a handful of no responses at all. Tim was the only person who got back to me immediately with a definite "YES" that he could fix it. And, WOW... he not only followed through on his promise, but he did it in record time and at a GREAT price. He even repainted the door so that it matched my other cabinets. When I picked it up I couldn't even tell which door had been broken (see photos). If I could give Woodmasters Workshop more than 5 Stars, I would!! A true craftsman. A kind person. Great staff. Everyone I talked to was very nice. Quick turnaround time. Reliable. A magician. I am going to send this guy gifts for every holiday. I am so grateful he was able to fix our cabinet. Now we don't have to live with a hole in our kitchen anymore. Tim is truly a wonderful human being!! More people in the world like this, please. THANK YOU!!!

We recently came into possession of a mid-century teak dining room table. Tables made by this Danish manufacturer, in their original condition, are truly beautiful. However, the condition of this table was far from that. The tabletop had many deep scratches, water rings, very spotty finish, large scuffmarks and large areas where liquid had spilled and soaked in to the wood. One of the feet of the solid teak base was split in two and the internal hardware on the opposing legs was torn out of the wood. I'm capable of minor furniture repair, but this was way beyond my abilities. Thus, began our search for someone to repair and refinish the table. I went on-line and searched "furniture refinishing/restoration" in the north county coastal region. In very short order I found Woodmasters Workshop in Leucadia. After reading the effusive Yelp reviews I brought in the "bones" to see if the table was salvageable. I met Tim and he was beyond confident that he could repair and refinish the table. The project estimate wasn't inexpensive, however it was substantially less than purchasing a table of similar quality. We initially told Tim to stain the table more of a dark brown. Tim felt that going with the natural color of teak would be far more appealing. Respecting his expertise, we opted for his recommendation. Several weeks went by and Tim called to let us know that the table was finished. When he delivered the table we were thrilled with the transformation. It would be an apt description to say that he brought the table "back from the dead". Essentially, the table looks brand new. In retrospect, we are very happy that we went with Tim's guidance regarding the natural teak finish. Unfortunately, I didn't take any "before" photos of the tabletop. However, I did take some photos of the initial condition of a portion of the base which was reflective of the condition of the tabletop. As well, I took an "after" photo of the entire table. They are both included below. Tim's craftsmanship, honesty, integrity, communication and exceedingly good nature will bring us back to him again for other projects. We can't recommend him highly enough.

Tim does seriously AMAZING work. My parents house burned down last month. My mom's furniture was saved but in rough shape. It was sentimental and all she had left so very important. It was even actually burned in some spots. My husband and I brought it to Tim and he literally made it look better than I have ever seen it. It is SO beautiful! He is truly amazing at what he does. I don't think anyone would have done the restoration as beautiful as he did. My mom is beyond happy.

We were debating about painting or staining our cherry cabinets. I got several quotes and Tim was very knowledgeable and offered to do some samples for us so we could see what our cabinets would like before we made the big decision. We opted to have him refinish them and keep them in their natural cherry state. The cabinets were 15 years old and they came out beautiful and very rich looking. I'm so happy we stayed with the natural beauty of the wood. Tim and his crew did an outstanding job. They were professional and worked quickly to get the job done. I recommend you give Woodmasters a try you won't be disappointed!

Tim of Woodmasters Workshop is truly exceptional in his craftsmanship! I came home to a badly cracked dining room armchair. Apparently our 16 pound puppy jumped up on it and knocked it over onto the wood floor and cracked the back of the chair where the arms meet, at least that was the "story" I was told. The chair is 1 of 4 chairs in a dining set, made by Stanley Furniture. It's unique in design and color. I purchased the floor model dining set, so I received a REALLY good deal. To replace the broken chair with a new one would be $650.00! Tim had fixed a chair of mine years ago, so I thought it might be worth a try to see if he could repair this chair, I was thinking it could be beyond repair. I cant tell you how thrilled I am with the results and price! Tim was able to reinforce the break and fill it in so it is not detectable. I was able to provide color matching paint. Good as new!

    Beautiful finish!

Tim refinished my kitchen table and did a fabulous job. My Pottery Barn kitchen table was so sticky because the finish was slowly rubbing off. It is only 7 years old but we use it daily. He returned the table to me today and it looks brand new. If anyone local is looking for furniture/kitchen cabinet refinishing, Tim is the man!

    Antique bench beautifully re-caned!

I came here for some Oftast dishes which are a lot like corelle dishes but much less expensive. I did find the dishes I was looking for but I had a time finding my way out of the store. This gave me more time to see all the cool things IKEA has to offer. I ended up finding some kitchen items I had never thought to look for. Signs pointing to the exits actually do not take you to the exit right away. The signs will take you to what feels like going through a Disneyland turnstile line. Just when you think you're getting out of the store or onto the Disneyland ride you've got a whole other roundy round or two to get through and lots of other goodies to see. Cool stuff here if you have the time and patience. I'll definitely be back. I love my dishes!

I used it today on an item that wasn't in the store to see but had to purchase there I had to go to a warehouse to pick it up. It was much smaller than I thought. I returned it within 20 minutes. They refused to give me the $10 birthday reward back in a digital card. They said when you use it, you lose it even though I DIDNT use it because I returned the item IMMEDIATELY she basically said too bad no exceptions!! Be aware if you have a birthday reward, you better not return any item that you buy it with or you will lose it. I recently spent approximately 4,000 there on furnishing a wall system & cabinet for the living room. Good customer service would have been to put it back on my account it's the principle not the money.

So that's exactly what was on the agenda. If you've never been to an IKEA restaurant, they are known for the Swedish meatballs. They also have salmon, plant-based options, kids meals, desserts, drinks, and seasonal specials. At the Mission Valley location, the restaurant is upstairs and hard to miss once you walk in. The dining room is huge and I love that you're basically eating inside an IKEA showroom surrounded by the furniture they actually sell. The process is pretty simple. Grab a tray, walk through the line, pick out any drinks, desserts, or snacks you want, and then head to the entrée section. One of the biggest reasons this place stays so popular is the pricing. Everything is incredibly affordable, especially considering the portions. This visit, we ordered the Swedish meatballs with mac and cheese on the side and decided to try the new falafel balls as well. Honestly, the highlight of this visit wasn't even the food. It was the employee helping us. He was so friendly and genuinely seemed excited to be there. He welcomed us, asked if it was our first time, and even offered samples when we mentioned we were debating between items. He was joking with us, asking if we wanted the meatballs drizzled or drenched in gravy, and just made the whole experience feel more personal. It's such a small thing, but great customer service really does make a difference. The Swedish meatballs were exactly why I keep coming back. My favorite part will always be the lingonberry jam. I put it on the meatballs, the mashed potatoes, basically everything. The gravy is fine, but the jam is what really makes the dish for me. The mac and cheese, unfortunately, was a miss. It reminded me of hospital mac and cheese. It wasn't very cheesy and just felt bland overall. The falafel balls were surprisingly good. They came with a garlic aioli, a vegetable couscous, and a wedge of lemon. The falafel itself was a little dry, but that's pretty common with falafel in general. The garlic aioli helped a lot and the lemon was absolutely necessary. That extra acidity really brought everything together. The vegetable couscous, however, was probably my least favorite thing on the plate. It felt underseasoned and honestly had a strange flavor that neither of us could really figure out. One funny thing we spotted was an April Fool's special: a meatball-flavored lollipop. Naturally I grabbed one. It's currently sitting on my coffee table because I'm still trying to build up the courage to actually try it. I'll definitely be back. Probably for the meatballs. Definitely for the jam.
