My home as a beautiful oak and glass front entry door that was in need of some attention. Over the years I have tried re-varnishing the door several times in an effort to protect it from sun and moisture. Unfortunately, this process has not held up well, and as left my door looking weathered and rough. We used Tim a few years ago for a small refinishing project on a wood rocking chair (he did a fantastic job) and decided to speak to him about the front door. He came out to my house to troubleshoot and discus the options. We decided to completely strip the door down to bare wood and restain and protect with a very high end product. Essentially, this was a 5-day process. On day 1, Tim arrived promptly in the am with three helpers. They removed the door and completely stripped and sanded it down to bare wood (a process which took several hours). They then applied a first coat of stain/color and rehung the door. On days 2 thru 5, Tim arrived each morning to apply an additional coat of stain/color/protectant. This took about and hour each day and then the door needed to remain ajar until late afternoon/early evening. Tim took the time each day to make sure my wife and I were happy with how the job was progressing, and made modifications to get the desired color. Through the whole process Tim was prompt, patient and professional. He is a true craftsman and takes pride in the job and finished results.. In my opinion, Tim should be your first and only call when it comes to any wood refinishing project you may have. read more

We were very pleased wtih Tiim (Woodmasters) who did a complete refinishing of an older wood dinning room set and hutch. It was an easy choice, Tim definately enjoys and appreciates the beauthy and elegance of wood. Tim helped us select a new stain that matched our wood flooring as well as other pieces of furniture in the dinning area. We were impressed with his shop. Finally, when he delivered the furniture, he brought along his colored pens and touched all the nicks and scrapes from the rest of the furniture in our dinning room area. The dinning room looks great and we get many compliments and recommend Woodmasters to all our friends. read more

I have a kitchen drawer that split along one of the edges. The drawer isn't of the highest quality. Wood front but plywood bottom and sides. I walked in on a Monday morning to the Workshop and talked to Tim. He was straight forward with my options. With a few days and for a higher cost, he could completely rebuild the drawer. In an afternoon and for a little less, I could get a quick fix with some reshaping and brackets to reinforce the sides so they didn't split again. I went with the quick option. The whole kitchen needs to be redone, so I just need the drawer serviceable, not completely redone. The following afternoon, for a good price, I went home happy with my drawer fixed. Tim was great. Knowledgeable and professional. 24 hour service at a good price was exactly what I was looking for with this small, quick job. I also liked being able to physically go by the shop, walk in, and talk to him. Some other places I saw in the area also had great reviews, but they were appointment only or would come to your house. Great for big jobs or remodeling but I just needed a drawer fixed. I appreciated being able to walk in and out. read more

So we took a chair in with a broken leg. It seemed to be fixed well. It broke at the same spot in a month we called and told them and they said bring it in. Ive been calling them to pick it up now for three ddays and leaving voicemails each day but they have yet to call back. read more

I thought I had destroyed my beautiful rosewood dining table by placing a pizza box on it, on a placemat. I had no idea the heat would create moisture and scar it terribly. I called Woodmasters and Tim returned my call the same day. He first offered me some suggestions to try myself and when those didn't work. He came to evaluate. When he saw the damage he knew immediately the problem and returned 2 days later with the products he needed. In less than 10 minutes, my table was like new. His knowledge was amazing. I am so impressed I have asked him to restore some areas on my kitchen cabinets. He is the best. read more

Tim repaired an antique cabinet with a relief of St. George slaying the dragon. George's hand and spear were broken and re-glued many times over the years, but we finally found the wood master to do the piece justice. Thanks, Tim! We'll be back with more projects! read more

I just picked up 2 dining room chairs that Tim repaired. Tim explained the method he used to repair the chairs, they look great. He completed the work right when promised and for an extremely fair price. Highly recommended craftsman! read more

Got Tims name from nextdoor app and called several people. Tim did an amazing job with a coffee table that is a good piece of furniture but completely beat up over the years. My kids had done every craft known to mankind on it and left the evidence. For half the price of other bids, he did a beautiful job. We are very pleased and wouldn't hesitate to refer or use again. Nice guy too! read more

I highly recommend Tim and Woodmasters Workshop. I had an old farmhouse table that needed refinishing. My situation, and coincidentally my review, is practically the same as Mona's (who I don't know). My table was an unusual color and had faded. Tim invited me over to the shop to discuss color options - he is very conscientious and wanted to get it right. The end result is beautiful. He also picked up and delivered the table. I thought his pricing was very fair. I would use Tim again in a heartbeat. read more

I had a set of six dining room chairs from Costa Rica that had become unstable after 30 years. The chairs were made up of a wood framework of through mortise and tenon, spring dowel joints, and open joints and I was amazed that Tim was able to get them apart and reglue so they are stable again. He also put a new topcoat on and all for a very reasonable price. My wife and I were thrilled with the result. Tim has the backgound and technical reach to take on a tricky task. Highly recommended! read more

Boy, what a great experience. Tim and his crew showed up on time, made all commitments (time and money) during the process of refinishing our kitchen cabinets. The finished product far exceeded our expectations. They did what they promised as well as doing additional furniture touch ups. read more

Tim did a great job on our table. We have had a number of friends and family over to share a meal around the table and everyone can't believe it is the same table. Tim matched the table perfectly with the new chairs we had purchased to replace the old chairs. We would recommend your services without hesitation. Barry and Donna Jones read more

Highly recommended! Tim at Woodmasters Workshop could not have been more helpful. I had some wood that I had tried to paint and stain myself, but couldn't quite get the finish I wanted. Even though Tim could obviously have finished the work for me, he could see I was close with my attempt, and very generously explained and showed me how I could do finish the project myself. I'll definitely return to Tim for any and all woodworking needs! read more

Great Job, Tim! We have a hutch that's is a family heirloom. We aren't a wealthy family, so it's not worth a lot monetarily, just worth a lot to us. It was a bit worse for wear and needed help. There's a family story about the hutch taking a ride down a river during a flood! I inquired around and the quotes I received were prohibitive. I thought I'd have to do it myself (when?) I found Tim, his initial quote after looking at the pictures I sent was reasonable! I decided let's try it! The whole process was easy. Tim was very responsive to my questions, my logistics... all of it. His client consultation was so informative. I knew what could be done and had a very good idea of what the hutch should look like when it was done. In the end, the hutch was delivered and looks beautiful. The drawer works freely! The door swings easily! The finish is exactly as I envisioned! And all of that at a reasonable price! I would hire Tim at Woodmasters Workshop again without hesitation! I'd recommend friends and family, no problem. I'm sorry I don't have a picture to show. My phone and computer aren't talking today. If they kiss and make up, I'll try to post one. read more

I'll just start with they exceeded my expectations. Some of the kitchen cabinets in our new house had been touched up and were looking okay but not great. The others that hadn't been touched were pretty bad. Tim gave us several (good, better, best) approaches and we went with the middle choice. Some would be completely stripped and refinished and others would get just a cleanup with a new coat of lacquer. After getting into the project, it was discovered that the material used on the cabinets that had already been touched up was causing a chemical reaction with the lacquer and they were looking even worse. Tim said the only solution was to completely strip them like he had done with the others. It involved more work and took more time but Tim was more than fair on the adjusted pricing and all the cabinets now look great. He was also very fair and cooperative on refinishing a couple of other small items that were unrelated to the original job. Tim and his team at Workmasters Workshop do great work at fair prices. They run their business really well and I completely recommend them. read more

I found Tim of Woodmasters Workshop through Yelp and had a fantastic experience. He took 3 very sentimental pieces of furniture that I inherited from my grandparents and turned them into a contemporary, cohesive set still exuding all the love and special memories that I have from my childhood. Tim is professional, timely, honest, knowledgeable and communicates clearly. I would not hesitate to use Tim in the future and will definitely refer him to anyone I know looking for an expert woodworking craftsman. read more

We have a very expensive coffee table we bought years ago that was in need of being refinished. Having never had furniture refinished and being generally skeptical of Yelp reviews, I was nervous about handing over our coffee table to anyone. But after doing a lot of research, I came to the conclusion that Tim was our best bet. All I can say is that every good review (I'm not sure there are even any negative ones) on him is accurate. We love our refinished coffee table even more than when we bought it. He did an amazing job. It is absolutely gorgeous. Will it hold up? Only time will tell. But it's such a high quality job that I have a hard time believing it won't last. I would not hesitate to have him do any refinishing work in the future. read more

I had Tim over to look at some dining room chairs that needed rebuilding (they were old and wobbly, but I love them), and two antique hutches that needed refinishing. He took them and refinished them and delivered them back in a short amount of time. His work is impeccable, his pricing more than fair and it left me wondering why I waited so long to have the work done. I would recommend Tim and Woodmasters to anyone. read more

Tim did a couple of midcentury modern dressers dating from the 1960's. They turned out stunning, and he went the extra mile to make things match. Tim is simply the greatest wood craftsman I have ever met. My wife and I tested his skills by giving him a wood medical chest from the 1880s that had belonged to my great-grandfather who was the Surgeon General of New Jersey. The top was cracked in three places, the bottom was virtually destroyed, and the insides were a mess. You need to understand that when you give Tim something that is this destroyed, he cannot fix it overnight; in fact, it took him several months. But perfection is worth the wait. The piece is superb. We then gave him several more antique furniture pieces from the 1880s, gave him several months, or longer, to finish each project, and you will be seeing these pieces on his website. Our favorite was a custom-made shoe shine kit from the 1800s that was an absolute wreck. We gave Tim our price range to fix it, we gave him four months to do it, and it is absolutely superb. We cannot be more pleased. We will be inheriting a few more pieces in the future, including a very bashed up secretary from the 1750s, and we know right where we are taking it. This is not one of those fake reviews written by a relative, or the owner. My name is Jim Hawkins, and I am giving Tim permission to have you call me if you would like to see what he has done. read more
