Our meal was just wonderful. Most memorable was the Osso Bucco that just fell off the bones and was oh so flavorful! The wine list was extensive. Enjoyed a wonderful Malbec from South America. The views are very pretty, except for the construction taking place right next store and the line of golf carts blocking the walkway in view during the ceremony. The bar did not have food but sandwiches could be purchased downstairs for a reasonable price. The wedding was delayed and some confusion took place amongst the guest and wedding party on the details. This lead to the grandparents missing the ceremony. The ceremony was short and straight to the point. Appetizers were waiting for guest upon entering the building and quite delicious. They also had some walking appetizers. This lead to high expectations for the dinner. After introductions and dancing, dinner was served. The salad was soggy and the soup was not hot, the rolls came out after the salad and soup. Everyone was served at the table and I was last. When asked what I ordered, I was told they had no more left. That the kids at the table should have gotten chicken fingers(we requested vegetarian meals for them). I had to wait for food to be prepared while those around me ate. What they served wasn't very good - creamy pasta with mushrooms (I requested the vegetarian option). Cake and coffee was served in the lobby. Pizza and meatballs was placed there as well towards the end of the night. I was not the one getting married, just a guest. But from the looks of the place and reading some of the cost, I would have been slightly disappointed in the coordinator and the lack of courtesy of the staff. As a senior I did find there were a few par 3s that I couldn't reach in regulation ( anywhere from 180-200 yards) but there were some short holes to make up for that. Not bad overall for a 52 year old course. They have a bar which was open and no restaurant, unfortunately. By the way, Brett who doubled as pro shop and bartender was very nice and only charged me 39 dollars for 18 holes on a Saturday. I'm not sure if that's a winter rate! Overall, I'd give it 4.5 stars and will definitely go back!

The greens are a little slow, but they are in pretty good shape. I think everyone who plays here for the most part is a hacker and so they miss the green and there aren't a lot of bone marks which is a good thing. The Fairways aren't bad either though they are very narrow. If you hit the fairways or green you're okay. But if you miss, there are some very tough lies. Not a lot of grass in the rough. Even some of the tee boxes are in tough shape. I missed the 5th grain by 3 ft and had a horrible lie with rocks and roots and I probably just should have moved it but I didn't know what the local rule was. I ended up duffing the chip and losing some strokes because of it. Sure I'm not a great golfer, but I would have preferred being in thick, deep rough over what I had. The pro in the pro shop was very nice. He checked me in. I found this place on golf now, but I actually called to make my tee time. $23 for nine seems reasonable these days.

I was pulled from the audience to be a part of the mime show. My 3.5 year old daughter got to see so many animals. The stunt show was a bit odd because a father was filling in for his son who was seriously injured on Wednesday night during a performance. We didn't know what happened though until we googled and were very thrown by this show must go on routine. Yikes. But overall, 3 generations all enjoyed the fair: granddaughter - grandparents

Despite the busyness of the nearby intersections and highways, it's a great place to stop for a walk&a picnic. There's the historic barn, built in 1775 by Joseph Crowell. The Farm got its identity from Lester Bourne Sr, whose family bequeathed the property for conservation. According to the Salt Pond conservation literature, nothing of note happened at Bourne Farm, but it does show daily life in the American Revolution era. There's a small fruit&vegetable garden. One can stroll among cranberry bogs. For outdoor dining, there's a small picnic area overlooking Crocker Pond. Bourne Farm has plenty of trails for hiking. It's no wonder Bourne Farm is often used as a wedding venue and an outdoor summer camp for kids. Beautiful place for fresh air.

Pumpkins walls and…read moreweddings Bourne Farms is a 50 acre area that is open to the public and includes a house that was built in 1775, an old barn and even an original outhouse. Flowers, trees and orchards are scattered around the area as well as cool old stone walls that meander around the property. Behind the farm are hiking trails that go through the woods and in some cases over the walls. The Shining Sea Bike Path also crosses through the property on an old rail trail complete with a small tunnel so the cows could get under the track to reach their grazing fields. A huge pumpkin field is filled with large pumpkins in the fall and the farm has a cool pumpkin event complete with hay rides and other fun activities. The farm is a very popular and lovely place to rent out for weddings and other events and offers a lot of room in a very bucolic setting. There are tours of the farm on occasion but it's fun just to walk the paths and see the cool and ancient stone walls and all the crazy looking trees and pumpkin fields. An enjoyable place to spend some time any time of the year.
