Clipper nick/ bald spot
Steph P.

This review is strictly for grooming as we have no used their boarding/ daycare services. I was referred here for grooming from a Facebook group. Come to find out those who recommended only have their dogs bathed and not groomed with a haircut. The haircut my dog received looked like an amateur did it not a professional charging $90 (overpriced to begin with). There were clipper nicks/ bald spots on my dog in several places. They also said they cleaned her ears but when she came home she was shaking her head (she was not doing this before she went) like her ear was bothering her. Ended up having to take her to the vet for an ear infection because she got water in her ear during the bath. My dog is 7 years old and has gone to the groomer multiple times a year since she was a puppy and never had an experience like this. The old groomer we used in the town we used to live in charged $55. My dog is 23lbs. If you are looking for a groomer for a haircut keep looking!

Your much more professional on Yelp than you are on Social Media. Let me stress AGAIN, our 8 month old 105 pound PUPPY is not aggressive and if I needed to show PROOF I could. Your staff NEVER stated this was an issue. After the Initial report of him jumping and humping a "smaller" staff member according to your worker upon me coming to pick him up, there was NEVER any other communication by your staff that he was continuing this behavior. My husband began coming with me to pick Aquila up and we ALWAYS asked your staff how he did and they ALWAYS said he did "good". It's so disheartening when a business owner who is barely ever at her establishment because according to your staff member who stated "she does have kids you know", will not take ownership when there is a gross lack of communication amongst her workers that she claims comes first. Yes I agree that their safety is definitely first, but you house all types and temperaments of dogs that you have failed to properly train them to handle. We know our puppy and we can bring him ANYWHERE and people approach him with NO issues of aggression. You've never been on site when he was there but you trust your staff's report even when they are clearly wrong. In regards to my friend's poor dog's ear, the issue was not that it happened, as things do, it was the fact that your staff denied knowledge and tried using tons of surgical glue and you did not contact the Vet for examination as also stated in your waiver. We also found out that a dog passed away at your establishment and the coldness of your untrained staff who called the owner and did not even know the dog's name is another representation of your judgement in choosing staff. Just stop Melissa. We've accepted that your business is not up to par and moved on and you should also. Perhaps shutting down before a tragic accident happens due to irresponsible workers is best for you. Every time we went there the dogs were all together with no staff and my husband even had to tell your worker that a dog was humping another dog and they ignored it. Aquila probably learned that behavior going to your daycare. Quick lesson though, when puppies are excited...THEY JUMP! And btw, our puppy is doing great in his training and responds to those who do not pose a threat to his well being. Maybe you should also consider enrolling in some character training , conflict resolution and business management classes and you won't have so many legal issues hanging over your head. GOD LUCK MELISSA!

I have been coming to this facility for over three years, for both daycare and boarding. This place is world class. I have two rescue dogs and I travel hours anytime I need to board to keep them at this facility. They offer TLC packages (which I highly recommend, if your dog has separation anxiety like mine do, so worth the extra money) The staff is trained by their amazing dog trainer over Melissa. And the staff takes each and every special request for your dog very seriously. I have one rescue who takes time to warm up to new men and one who also takes time to warm up to new dogs. My dogs THRIVE here because the staff cares. Special shout out to Melissa, Maddie, Dallas, Will and Sarah. So many not mentioned but these five are amazing. We love this place

My rescue hound dog, Buddy, has visited a few times, for 1-3 night stays. Good experience, caring folks.

Use the rover app instead of this place. Seems like they are only in it for the money. Our babies deserve proper care!

Halfway Home is a well noted rescue with high standards who values the care and placement of cats and dogs. PetSmart had an area where you could see adoptable cats from Halfway Home in the store. PetSmart decided that numbers of animals moved in and out of the store were more important than the well being of the actual animals. Halfway home always takes the time to make sure to check references, vet history, home environment, and makes sure each animal has the medical care they need. Halfway Home was asked to leave because PetSmart wanted cats moved every 22 days out of the store. For anyone who has ever adopted an animal, you know this is a slower process to ensure happiness for both owner and more importantly the pet. In short, PetSmart is more concerned with the all might dollar and ultimately corporate greed. I along with many others will be boycotting this store in all locations.

You thought you did everything right by giving your dog so much love and socialization only to now be faced with questions and comments like " why didn't you just train your dog ?" , " you're not the alpha to your dog", " you shouldn't be a dog owner" on a regular basis. I have a 6 year old boxer ( the social , goofy clowns of the dog breeds) . I've worked with dogs in the past as a kennel attendant, and grown up with dogs my entire life and never thought I would be in this situation . I struggled to find a trainer whose techniques showed progress which lead to inconsistency, a lot of frustration and doubt . Eventually taking him places like the vet and groomer caused me such extreme anxiety. When I met Tom , my dog was unapproachable by strangers , including Tom initially. It took a month or so of meeting up , going on walks and practicing techniques at home but I was seeing improvement! Not long after Tom was able to take the leash from me and walk Gus, and we could walk near other people without Gus acting like a total maniac , lunging , barking and snapping. It was like he was a normal (ish) dog . Gus is 6 , so it will be a slow process to break him out of this behavior , but he has improved so much in the last 6 months .. I never thought I would get this far. I still have my work cut out for me but this training has also helped me increase my confidence as a dog owner and learn to trust my dog again. I'm not longer so nervous to take him out on walks because I feel like I'm in control.( Holding back an 80 pound boxer is not an easy task ) . I definitely recommend Tom if you are struggling with a similar situation. It probably has been the best thing I have ever done for Gus!

Highly recommend, they know their business and can handle highly aggressive dogs. Tom is ver…read moreinformative.

Now she is happy to sit back, relax, and let us take the reins. She is an absolute gem on walks now. I used what I learned with all three dogs and it's made a huge difference in our home. No more stress, all the dogs get along nicely and play together. All three dogs pay attention and listen to me. I am so happy I found Bark Busters. I couldn't ask for a better outcome. Prior to our training, Vickie explained everything to me and answered all questions. The fees are very reasonable too. He started to show us an app we could use to find the general direction. When we sheepishly admitted that neither one of us had remembered our phones he immediately said I'll lead you out. We didn't want to take him out of his way, so we said just point us in the right direction. We are two older ladies, and he insisted on leading us out saying that he didn't want to be worrying about whether we made it out safely or not. Thank you, Josh! Debbie
