I went there, called the number on the door to tell them I was there to pick up my order. They came out in a relatively short time with my order. I put it in my trunk and went home. I decided to check it to make sure all the yarn was correct. I first did a count and only came up with 13 skeins. I counted again. Only 13. I then went skein by skein checking them off as I went. I had only been given 2 skeins of a certain color and had paid for 3. I surprisingly experienced some really poor customer service at this business…read more I sent an order of 4 thousand negatives and slides and asked to have 3 small test sets of the same 9 frames done first, to decide what I would like, 1 set 8 bit JPG, 1 set 16 bit TIF, and 1 set 16 bit 'flat' TIF. After surprisingly having to explain what a flat image is to a photo shop, they seemed to understand. But the 'flat' scans they sent me back were identical to the other normally processed 16 bit TIF default scans. They also failed to remove sharpening and grain reduction from the flat scan, which I specifically requested. Ok fine, they made a mistake, no big deal.. So I politely asked them to fix this one set of the flat scams (9 frames only!) and I even spent time to look up the two contrast settings they needed to adjust in the Noritsu software to get a flat scan. (Note I've never used Noritsu but it was easy to look up). Mike Ross the owner then phoned me and was so angry I could barely get a word in or finish a sentence. He seemed to suggest I was changing the order when I was simply helping them after it was apparent they didn't understand a flat scan, which is a pretty fundamental concept in scanning, nor did they even give me a 16 bit TIFF with no sharpening or grain reduction. Luckily this occurred on the test set and not the main order so I can send the negatives to a more knowledgeable (and hopefully pleasant to deal with) lab. I honestly don't understand how someone stays in business with this type of belligerent communication with customers.

My first project with Mr. Ralph was to finish up a DIY project I started and did not have the skills or time to finish. The work was extremely affordable, quick, and done well. I have an old house with many poorly done home renovations by the previous owners, he has dealt with them professionally and patiently. I have since used him for 4 other projects, most recently an extensive bathroom renovation. I am eager to learn skills that will help me do projects better myself and he has been a great teacher, not only in prioritizing projects based on what is important, but also in the materials and techniques. Projects do tend to go a little past the quoted time frame but it is because he cares about the details and doesn't hurry over the unexpected issues that pop up with old homes. He treats us like family and will probably end up re-doing every room here. If you want a rush job without quality or are overbearing I would pass on hiring him. We couldn't be happier with his work and professionalism!

Please do your research. Mr. Ralph Home Improvement is NOT a licensed home improvement/kitchen…read morerenovation contractor. Although, I asked on our initial conversation and he confirmed that he was licensed. After seeing the pictures of a new kitchen and reading the excellent reviews posted on yelp I contacted Mr. Ralph. He first gave me a labor cost of to renovate my kitchen for $3,000. After a few days he text me dropping his price to $2,700. He said he understood my situation & was willing to help me out. Few days later he went to my home, measured, sent me a shopping list of the items I needed. I ordered them through Lowes. Had them delivered bc his truck didn't have room/space for all the materials. While waiting on the new cabinets he demoed the old kitchen cabinets, painted the ceiling, walls and trim. This is where things began to go south: After noticing the old wall were the original cabinets were not painted, I asked him why not paint the old walls? He was resistant bc the new cabinets where going to be installed and no one would see it. He later gave in & began painting the old yellow walls. He charged $500 for the paint job + I purchased the paint. The quality I was promised was NOT what I or my real estate agent was seeing. The purpose of this project was to renovate my old kitchen so I can list the house for sale. After telling Mr. Ralph I was not happy on how large the gap between the refrigerator and top cabinet is I asked if perhaps the cabinet can be switched to a bigger/more functional size. At first he told me the gap can be covered if I placed something on top of refrigerator. I said ok. I thought perhaps a sign or basket would do the work. A few days later my realtor goes in, sees the cabinets and was also not pleased. She's sold properties for many yrs and is able to tell something is wrong right away. She called me up- bc I'm out of state- sent me more pics and strongly encouraged me to get the right cabinets for this area. After reaching out to Mr. Ralph he became belligerent, said I was micromanaging him and should trust the process. Mr. Ralph then texted me to let me know he was packing up & leaving. He demanded the rest of the $ owed which I had paid 1/2 of what he was charging me up front. Told me the job he was doing cost a lot more than $2,700 yet that was the cost he gave me. He told me if I did not paying him the rest of the $ owed he would not return. I asked him: would you pay for a job you are not happy with? A job that hasn't been completed? No, I didn't pay him & thankfully did not return. I failed to do my research for project. As a first time home owner who moved out of state & needs to sell the home. I trusted someone who told me on many occasions he was professional, experienced and meticulous at his craft. For this I'm paying the price. Please do not make the same mistake. Do not take a contractor's word no matter how nice they seem. No matter how many times they tell you they understand and want to help you. Ask to see proof- which I was never provided. All I received was an invoice for the renovation of kitchen cabinets and painting of my kitchen. I'm glad I listened to my realtor. In less than 24 hours of Mr. Ralph walking out of this project a new certified/experienced/recommended contractor stepped in. He wasn't shocked of the quality/service I received. Unfortunately, he's had to step in to fix jobs like the one I was left with. The new contractor confirmed: All the cabinets and counter top that were initially ordered were measured incorrectly & ALL the materials which were order needed to be returned w/ the exception of the ones already installed- bc those can't be refunded since they've been drilled in. I've lost $ & a lot of time. My home was suppose to be listed already. I lost $1,600: $1,350 ($2,700) was given as a deposit + $250 ($500) for kitchen paint job. I now have to pay extra to get the job done correctly- so basically I got what I paid for . Lesson learned. Do YOUR RESEARCH. No proof of licenses, no contract, no drawings, etc no business/$.

Now at the end of Week 9, we are finally able to begin using the kitchen. Our renovation consisted of a new floor, painting of the cabinets and walls, a new countertop and sink, dishwasher instillation, and instillation for 4 new (pre-finished) cabinets. In total, there were approximately 10 days over those 9 weeks when work was actually being done. Yes, you read that correctly. 9 Weeks, 10 days of work...that's 53 days of absolutely nothing! The rest of the time was spent tracking down the so called 'contractor' to find out who was coming to do what and when. After making an $8k payment, we were told the work would begin the following Monday. When Monday came and went without even so much as a phone call, we called to see what the issue was. We were told we were supposed to call when the wallpaper was taken down (we agreed up front to take it down on our end). If this were the only communication issue throughout the project, I would said say it was just a misunderstanding however, this was just the tip of the iceberg! The sub-contractor finally came, and they took up the old tile and laid the new. After a couple of days without a call or email, we had to reach out to the contractor again on next steps. This was the common theme throughout the entire renovation. We had to follow up each and every time with the contractor to get anything done. We also had to advise each of the sub-contractors on what they had to do as they arrived, they were not briefed before they got there. When the carpenter came to install the dishwasher (new to the space), he told us that when the countertops were put on, we'd never be able to get the dishwasher out. The reason for this being that the contractor never told the tile sub-contractor to take out the existing subfloor. Instead, they laid a new one over it raising the floor more than an inch! We were told that we'd have to raise the height of the cabinet to avoid having to take the countertop off down the line if the dishwasher needed a repair. This was something that could have been completely avoided had the contractor advised his team correctly. The contractor then tried to charge us approximately $400 for this work. Nearing the end of the project, it was evident that the ceiling had not been painted. We called, and the contractor said he'd call the painter to 'have him put another coat on'. When the painter arrived, he asked what was needed so we explained (as usual). He told us that the contractor never told him to paint the ceiling!' Every step of the way was nothing but a headache and it was obvious that we were 'small potatoes' for this contractor. The lack of communication and continuing empty promises made this process an absolutely nightmare. I would recommend this company only if you like the idea of being your own foreman!
