My husband and I got the unpleasant notification a couple of months ago that our management company…read morehad chosen not to renew our lease. We both have some disabilities, and my husband has a lot of chronic pain after a car accident a year ago. We had some friends come in to help get things boxed up after a terrible experience with another moving company, who told me one thing and my husband something completely different. I decided to be proactive and look on Angie's List for reputable moving companies, and H & R was the first one that came up. Robert was incredibly nice on the phone, and I knew right away they were the company we would go with. Our movers, Shawn and Leo, are THE BOMB. We were notified yesterday they'd be a little later than originally scheduled, but that was fine. I had some last minute stuff to take care of anyway, so I certainly wasn't going to be unhappy about a couple extra hours to get stuff finished up. There was construction on my street, so unfortunately they had to park BEHIND our apartment and then move everything that way, especially since everyone and their brother were parked where the moving truck should have gone. I'm going to be totally honest, it is always REALLY hard for me to relax, particularly when I feel like I should be doing things and aren't. After a while I just got comfortable on the couch and let them take care of it. They even moved my heavy-ass armoire with (mostly) the greatest of ease. (As a good friend of ours said about the armoire the last time we moved, "eff that heavy ass thing, I am NEVER moving it again." We also have a tricky cal king bed frame that needed to be taken apart. No problem. Also found out that there were roaches (ew) nesting underneath it. When they got to our new house, we sprayed it down with Raid to make sure they weren't our welcoming committee. Overall, Leo and Shawn, plus H & R Moves You, have done an amazing job helping us during a crazy stressful time, not just for us but America in general. I cannot recommend them enough.

H & R Movers AZ Review…read more Very unfortunate experience, not only the physical damages done to our appliances but the lack of customer service. It was great over the phone but a nightmare afterwards. See below for details: The service to move some appliances was requested for a Monday at 11:30am, the owner advised the charge was $200, for two man. Sunday night, he contacted us to advise that he had a change of plans and could only make it at 7am, unfortunately, we were in a rush to get those appliances and agreed to change the time last minute and cancel the plumber that was going to help out to plug in all the stainless steel appliances such as a dishwasher, refrigerator and stove. Monday comes, and the owner shows up by himself. The appliances were not even covered with any blankets. He struggles to get in the appliances by himself through the doors, and drags the refrigerator scratching it, as I call him out he said - no, i'm not. Then proceeds to complain about me calling him out. The pain of seeing things getting damaged proceeded, fortunately our handy man was able to help him get the refrigerator in. At payment, he was paid for the amount he requested and got a $20 tip. Shouldn't have happened but it did. While he wrote "No damages" on the receipt, we corrected it to state "Damages". The following week, I proceeded to contact HR Movers to attempt to file a complaint. I leave a voicemail. Days later, we receive a call from a very nice lady asking for the dolly that was left in the backyard. We then followed-up by asking her if she was also calling re the voicemail left regarding filing a complaint. She then said her phone lines were not working correctly and that she wasn't aware of any damages but that was going to contact us to follow-up. The owner then followed up by calling to threaten me that if we leave a bad review he will then let everyone know not to hire us for our business. Sadly, it took me a while to leave a review but was concerned on how he was going to react being so new in Tucson, this was a HORRIBLE experience.

This company went out of their way, given my situation, after business hours, on two separate visits, to accommodate the removal of furniture, garbage, and various items. Even further, they went out of their way to clean, sweep, and ensure the exterior of the house was clean and presentable. They also facilitated the moving of what remained into the moving truck I rented, disassembled furniture, and was more than accommodating with anything else I may have needed. Not only was this company more than accommodating, but they met my financial needs as well. I would not have been able to accomplish all that needed to be done if it weren't for them. As a single, full-time working mother in the military, with minimal time to take care of the needs of my hospitalized mother, I was able to breathe with this company!!! Thank you!

I feel very lucky to have contracted with Sonny to clean out this property. I'm not sure how the…read moreproject would've gone without him. I am from out of state and I was purchasing this distressed property to make a home for my sister in law to live in. The home was occupied by a variety of non-owners who had been piling junk up. A day after I spoke with Sonny on the phone he visited the property to make a quote and spoke with the occupiers. I believe his firm and polite presence allowed us to transition them off property with no ugliness. When I arrived to close he was able to give me a firm quote. That shows a lot of professionalism, since it was a really huge job. It's a 7000 square-foot lot covered in all kinds of stuff including a boat. I let him know I was constrained for time so he got right on it the next day and got so much done including interior demo work that hadn't been part of the first quote that I had no problem paying a large deposit upfront. Unfortunately, there was an escrow problem. We had to stop work for a couple days. When the problem was resolved Sonny was right back on the job the next day. in just two days, it was finished. I was amazed. You can see from the photos that there was an incredible amount of work interior and out. (not to mention the tree that had fallen on the roof.) I was working on projects while they were doing the demo and clean out. I got a chance to hear Sonny handle his customers in a honest and professional manner. I also witnessed him, guiding his crew to his very high standards. His crew was great. I was comfortable and felt secure with them. I found Sonny on Google/yelp. even though he has a great rating with the BBB, his one bad review on yelp gave me pause. however, when I checked that reviewer's other reviews, I found that she had never had a good experience with anyone ever and that review should not and does not represent Sonny's work. I left Sonny with the keys and codes to the property in case my sister-in-law had an emergency because I have so much trust in him.

Sonny was very professional and scheduled my pickup, he checked in with me several times before the appointment. They were very efficient in getting things loaded. There are others in Tucson that would rip you off, but this company is reliable and trustworthy. Now days we don't get to say that much. My big mess was embarrassing, but Sonny and crew did not shame me, instead their attitude was very helpful. I cannot begin to say how much this meant to me!

This company was professional and courteous. They arrived on time and worked hard to disassemble and move my furniture. Unlike some moving companies, Hands on Moving did not milk the clock or hit me with any extra fees. They were very easy and straightforward to work with. The movers took care in making sure my belongings not only arrived undamaged but, they also put every box and piece of furniture exactly where I wanted. I do not remember if they said it was included in the pricing however, I am so grateful they went out of their way. It made my transition into my new home go so much quicker. I do want to note, I took off 1 star because the movers did not have on face masks ( review written during COVID19 era) and that made me a little weary. BUT in their defense, it was over 100 degrees outside and they were working so hard I decided to let it slide since I wasn't at risk anyways.
