Pretty satisfied with our first trip to Whit's since we arrived at literally 8:55 PM and they were closing in five minutes. The staff greeted us with a smile & were incredibly nice, considering they were about to close! My nephew absolutely raved about his crafted frozen custard cookie. I had the red velvet which was scrumptious. Yes, it is pricy but worth it for special times.

Dessert custard is the best.

Frozen custard is very similar to homemade hand cranked ice cream of days gone by. Rich and creamy I almost felt my blood sugar going up with each delicious bite.

It's cool Westchase village finally has a custard spot but I'm a custard snob. Several of us veteran elite yelpers came in for a visit. I tried the custard before I bought and I end up not buying because it tasted like soft serve...but custard. And I'm not going to mess around and give them one star because it's not that the ice cream didn't taste OK it just wasn't custard. Anyone who knows custard knows that you have to have that bounce mouth feel. Sorry but this one doesn't cut it for me. A cute little ice cream shop for those who don't know any better!

Went here tonight after a Yelp search for frozen custard. This place is in West Chase Park. What a great little area. The shop was small with a few inside chairs but most of the seating was outside. The custard was very good and rich. Next time I will get a small. The staff was helpful and we were able to make our choices and go sit in a beautiful park right next door. We noticed several little restaurants and pubs in the area and have decided we definitely want to come back.

Always one for treats after dinner, this place hit the spot. The service was amazing and they really are so nice and patient. I have never had custard before so it was nice that they took the time to explain things and let me sample some of the tasty flavors. A cute shop tucked in the middle of a town square that offered indoor and outdoor seating. I definitely recommend this place and I really enjoyed the Buckeye Madness!

Very cute place with great service and great custard! The place is cute with indoor and outdoor seating. The workers were very friendly and offered samples of the daily flavor. Portions are amazing for the price I got the vanilla with rainbow sprinkles and it was great! Will definitely go back and try more menu items!

The staff is friendly and the frozen custard is delicious. I always get the waffle bowl so I can have the waffle cone taste and crunch without the mesa.

Delicious ice cream, super friendly staff, quick service even on a Saturday night, and a great location. Whit's ice cream for the win. Make a night out of it and eat a delicious dinner next door on the Catch 23 patio and enjoy dessert at Whits!

Currently the only store in Tampa, this soft serve frozen custard store is serving up some delicious goodies, with a steadily growing list of fans. They mix in flavors and ingredients upon order resulting in a freshly made concoction that is smooth and creamy to scoop. Each bite is true to the taste of the flavor mix amd freshness. Whit's is originally from Ohio and now has stores in several different states. Check out the menu picture - there's something for everyone who has a sweet tooth - single flavors, complex flavors of favorites suggested, or go completely experimental and pick your own choice of toppings from a very lengthy list for them to fresh mix for you. There's also a freezer section for some take home pints, non yoghurt ice cream treats as well as floats - root beer, dreamsicle. The menu helpfully describes each item. The interior is clean just as a frozen yoghurt store should be, there's minimal seating inside with some tables with umbrellas outside on the side walk. Very family friendly and the staff are so proud of their offerings. They will happily help you through their flavors and their excitement shows in their interaction amd service. I live close by so I will be definitely be back again though I hope I just don't become a daily patron

Crazy for Coffee- specialty

I've seen their store open for a while and I was dying to check them out. Welp, on a cold day after I have just had some hot coffee with a nice, hot breakfast, I decided to do just that. Nice little store with a full freezer full of gallons and pints of their take home custard, they also serve over the counter custom made to order custards in cups or cake cones. Keep in mind that the custom over the counter items only come in chocolate, vanilla, or flavor on the day, which in that case was raspberry white chocolate. I was feeling more like coffee, chocolate, or toffee, so when I saw that they had Crazy for Coffee, which is similar to an affogatto (espresso and ice cream), so I had to get that. I got it with vanilla custard, which I've said before is best since it wouldn't over power the flavor of the mocha sauce and coffee unlike chocolate. It came in a decent sized cup, enough for me to really enjoy. I was able to appreciate the pure vanilla custard itself as much of the coffee and mocha sauce was in the bottom. The vanilla flavor was light yet rich, and the texture of the custard itself was smooth. I was able to stir in the rest to mix with the coffee and mocha sauce for a frozen coffee treat. Delicious! I checked out the freezer and picked up a pint of the cheesecake chocolate chip frozen custard. Can't wait to eat this at home!

Didn't stop by the store. Whit's was at the Ice Cream festival on the pier and I got their almond joy custard and it was delicious. If I'm in the area will be sure to check it out.

I moved to Tampa almost 3 years ago and have been missing frozen custard in my life. I'm so happy Whit's opened up and it's delicious. Another plus, the friendly team greeting you when you walk in the door. I will be back and often!

Very cute shop that offers a wide array of gelato, ice cream, and sorbet in a rather vast selection…read moreof flavors. They also offer specialty desserts, cake cones, bubbles waffles, etc. (including something that's wrapped in a cloud of cotton candy!!??), but I notice that as I get older, I need more simplicity in my life, so I forgo the elaborate get up and stick to basics. After all, it's an ice cream shop, so their ice cream needs to be good anyway regardless of creative ways to present it. The shop was clean, cute, and very welcoming. I was greeted immediately by a very nice worker who offered to let me sample some of the flavors that are offered. I was feeling like some coffee inspired sweets (though HONESTLY when am I not???) and chose the Caramel Macchiato flavored gelato and paired that with Tiramisu. Now...to get the two flavors, you HAVE to get no smaller than a medium cup, which is rather large, but I was game, so medium it is!!! I thought my flavors went great together in harmony along with the coffee theme. Caramel Macchiato is a flavor I've never seen ANYBODY else do before, so I knew I had to get that. It even had chunks of caramel chips in it, so I knew I had a winner. The flavor did overpower the tiramisu a little, but once I got to the bottom, I was able to really appreciate the mascarpone flavor of the gelato and indulge in the actual chunks of lady fingers that were mixed in. I love that I finally gave this place a chance after passing it by so many times. I'll be sure to check out their actual ice cream or MAYBE go with another gelato flavor. Would I go with the crazy concoctions they offer??? If I'm in the mood.

Our family of four was immediately greeted upon entering. The owner was there working. He and his team were very patient and helpful as we asked lots of questions and took our time deciding. The menu offers ice cream, gelato, milkshakes, and more. They also offer different types of fun cones. Our kids each ordered ice cream in a bubble waffle cone, my husband ordered a milkshake, and I an ice cream on a cloud cone. The cloud cone was insane! The photos don't do it justice. My eyes were definitely bigger than my stomach because one cloud cone can easily be shared by 2 or more people. The portions were huge, none of my family members could help me finish my cloud cone after finishing their treats. They did help me eat some of the cotton candy. Highly recommend Ice Cream Theory if you want a fun, delicious treat!

Great treats and fantastic service…read more I'm pretty sure everyone who works here is a high school student, but they are definitely the most personable ones in the area. They are always really friendly and efficient. This place is never busy inside, so I think they get a lot of drive through orders. It's always very clean inside and there's tons of tables. I love the tadpole mini size, because it's perfect for my four year old. My seven year old always tries to get a medium, but he doesn't even finish his small. If somehow you've never had Italian Ice before, it's not like Kona Ice, it's more like very finely shaved ice so it's almost like ice cream. It is absolutely delicious. I don't know if this is healthier for you than normal ice cream, but I'd like to think so. You can also intersperse the Italian Ice with soft serve. There are a lot of parking spots in front. They say compact, but since almost no one parks there, it's definitely a free for all. I would definitely recommend checking this place out. It's a neighborhood favorite.

Snowrolls is a rolled ice cream parlor located in New Tampa. There is a lot to like about it…read more Snowrolls offers a regular and vegan base for their ice cream. They roll each order of ice cream right in front of you after it is ordered. They have a large number of ingredients that can be mixed in to the ice cream. A number of these options are also vegan. Snowrolls even has a dairy free whipped cream. While Snowrolls has a number of suggested menu items on the board, I usually select the create my own option. Snowrolls is great for young kids. They have a shelf to the left of the entrance that has games, Snowrolls coloring sheets and crayons and even a model car that my soon to be two year old would not put down during our entire visit. So with all this good, why only three stars? While Snowrolls is good at what they do, their rolled ice cream style isn't something I would seek out on a regular basis. I prefer the creamy, hand dipped ice cream style. My daughter seems to have this same reaction as she only ate one bite of her ice cream during our last visit. Snowrolls is also pretty expensive compared to other vegan ice cream options in the area. All in all, Snowrolls seems good at what they do and I'm excited they brought their rolled ice cream to New Tampa. You just won't find me going out of my way to eat their style of ice cream.
