Finding a tailor in the suburbs is no easy task. I have pretty high standards for these kinds of…read moreservices since I don't want to take chances with my clothes. Decided to give this place a shot with some basic tailoring (pants hemming) and it went great! I gave the tailor a suit pant and a pair of pants made out of stretchy polyester, and she hemmed both without any issues and did a good job (stretchy pants can be an issue sometimes if they end up stretching out the fabric during the alteration process). To top it off the place is clean, well lit, and spacious (some of the center city tailors I've gone to are pretty cramped in comparison). The tailor makes her own masks among other things so seems like she definitely knows her way around a sewing machine. She passed the first test so I'll be going back for round two with some more complicated alterations. One nice little bonus is that the tailor also alters her own son's clothes, and it sounds like he prefers slimmer cuts for his clothes. Korean guys tend to have high fashion standards, so if she works on her own son's clothes then she's gotta have at least some experience making clothes slimmer and more modern looking. From my experience not every tailor agrees with or wants to make your coat or pants as slim as you want it, or they'll edge on the more conservative traditional side (read: boxy and old fashioned), so hearing her talk about her son's clothes like this was definitely a plus.

I would not recommend this dry cleaner. I brought my down jacket for cleaning, it is an expensive,…read morebranded jacket that clearly states it should be cleaned by a professional garment cleaning service. After I picked it up, the jacket was stretched out and no longer fit properly. When I tried to discuss the issue, the manager was rude, refused to listen, and made no attempt to resolve the problem or take responsibility. I have cleaned similar down jackets at other dry cleaners in a different state with excellent results. Branded jackets always come with proper care instructions, which were clearly not followed here. Very disappointing experience.

In my adjustment to living in the suburbs came living WITHOUT a washer and dryer - so the quest for…read morea laundromat became important. Then came the realization that I do not have the time, energy or stamina to sit at the laundromat while I wash clothes for 2 clotheshorse adults, linens, etc. And so, wash and fold was discovered. I had an absolutely stellar experience with dropping off my laundry. I dropped it off before work on morning -the woman who took it in was super nice, very efficient. Only took a couple of minutes. She asked if I had any stains she should look for; I asked her to wash the darks separately because of denim dye. I went back two days later, gave the nice woman $39 for 31lbs of laundry and... WOW. Everything was clean, smelled lovely, folded perfectly. She even separated our laundry into his-and-hers...and my jeans were organized by brand. The only downside is that the drop off/pick up days aren't ideal: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday (I think) from 7am-11am. They can do them same day, too. But that's a minor, minor inconvenience. I don't think I can afford wash and fold all the time, but for the days/weeks when you have run out of all your clean clothes (like buying new ones instead of going naked) - this is well worth it.

I lost 30 minutes with dryer number 26. I sat there waiting for my clothes to dry and then found…read moreout the machine never got hot so I had to repeat the whole thing over in another machine. How do I get my money back? There is no contact information at this place.. And then a man drying his clothes on a machine catty corner to mine did the same thing.. I felt bad for him as he didn't appear to have much money. I pray for him.. he should get a refund as well.
