This dry cleaner does decent work, including tailoring. But it is absurdly, crazily expensive, and wait times for simple laundry and dry cleaning can be a full week. If you ask for earlier, you get a nasty look and some sarcasm. That is unacceptable given that all the work is done on premises. Town Valet appears to be owned and operated by a husband and wife team, and while the husband is vaguely polite (more like stoic), his wife is rude, unprofessional and even just plain mean. They the work is ok and IF it's truly "environmentally friendly" as they claim, that's a nice touch--but the combination of very high cost, log wait times, and rudeness has forced me to go elsewhere. It costs NOTHING to be nice, and I'm not going to pay for the privilege of being treated so poorly. read more

Ruined a new cashmere sweater that had been worn three times. I got it back with holes. And it looked more pilled and full of lint then when I dropped it off. When I brought it back to show them, the gentleman told me, the holes were there before he got the sweater. I said, I would never have paid to have a sweater cleaned that had holes in it. Then he accused me of putting it in the wash at home, again, never did that. When I asked nicely for a credit he looked at me like I was crazy but finally agreed to give me a $25 credit towards an item to be cleaned in the future, but he didn't note it on my account. He simply said he would remember. Customer service matters. You shouldn't have to beg to have things made right. read more

Brought a brand new suit in that was worn once to be dry cleaned. After leaving the suit with them for over 1 week, the suit pants were returned damaged with a tear at the bottom of the leg and marks that looked like the clothing was burned, which were absolutely not there upon dropping them off. Upon calling in, immediately after unpacking the dry cleaned suit and noticing the damage, the owner cut me off and refused that anything could have been damaged at his store without even allowing me to get a full explanation of what was damaged. Same thing happened when I went in person to show the pants and he went as far as to say he noticed saw the tear after he dry cleaned them himself, but wouldn't take responsibility. He never made note of it prior to or after returning the clothes. No offer to help with alteration or refund due to damaged clearly made at his store. I am new to the area and heard good things about this place. I received my items back today and I am very disappointed. I noticed my shirts were still wrinkly when I picked them up. I asked the owner about this and they said their machines are not capable of removing all of the wrinkles. I've never had such a poor dry cleaning experience and could've done a better job myself. This was a while ago now, they NEVER answer the phone which is frustrating when you're missing clothing items & don't want to drive there. Buttons missing & my husband's shirts always looked like crap, wrinkled. Terry blamed it on the fabric, well, nooooo...my original dry cleaner in Media does a GREAT job! No wrinkles, NO lame excuses. Worst dry cleaner EVER! I know its "common" place for dry cleaners to lose shirts but Christ all mighty. I almost had to get a part time job to restock my work shirts that they kept losing. Cant even tell you how many times I got someone else shirts back that were mixed in with mine. The final straw was when they lost the pants to my $400 suit and just looked at me like I was a rude American for bitching about it. They offered NOTHING in the way of compensation. I was beyond furious at this point. I now have been going to Lee Hwa on 8th for 2 years and they haven't lost anything. Bottom line; If you like shopping for new clothes then you'll love this place cause they'll have you out shopping for replacements every week. So up front, this is my own damn fault for picking the place to get my wedding dress altered based on location. Any normal person would have gotten it done based on recommendations and reviews. My bad. All I needed was to have it shortened a bit. I came in to try it on, and it was uneven, meaning one side was shorter than the other, and I mean visibly shorter. I wept. I sobbed. Then I begged and pleaded for them to try to fix it, which they did. I'm not sure how they did it, because there looked to be less than 1/8" on the hemline, but they did. Also note, they were very kind and concerned when I was blubbering in the dressing area. They did an awesome job pressing it. And I'm sure they do a good job with the dry cleaning; they look like they're always busy. PS. Ladies, learn from my mistake... no matter how little alteration your wedding dress needs, go someplace you know and trust to get it done. And don't wait till the last minute like I did :) read more

I've had 2 negative experiences at this dry cleaners. 1 was a pair of pants that I wanted shortened. They didn't get it right, and it was still a little too long. But, better too long than short! I'm sure they will redo it. The other negative experience was with a rug cleaning. When I got the rug back, I put it in storage for awhile. When I finally opened it up, there was a black stain on the rug that was not there when I took it to be cleaned. Strange. read more

I thought I had a found a decent cleaners who could provide next day turn around for my husband's dress shirts...after today I will not be returning. When I brought shirts in today and politely asked if I could get them tomorrow, the lady replied with a curt "no." I then asked how soon I could get them and she said after 5pm Thursday and followed that with "you always come too early when I tell you 5pm." One time and once only I got there a little before 5 not even realizing I was early..mind you I had my two young children with me. When I was told the shirts were not ready yet, I very politely said okay I would come back later-I did not complain whatsoever. To be spoken to so unprofessionally today when again I did not complain or argue once is a testament to the poor customer service. I will take my service elsewhere from now on. read more

This cleaners has been my savior for getting stains out of formal wear over the years. I recently took in three very stained dressy items (a white cocktail dress, a beige dressy blouse and a cocktail dress with a cream colored crepe pleated skirt) When I brought them in, they said they weren't sure they could get the stains out but they would try. I completely understood given how big the stains were, and I didn't even know what type of stain it was to help them. Just liked these items enough that I wanted to take a chance. Well, all I can say is that I'm absolutely amazed at the job they did. All the stains are completely out and the items look like they are brand new. hey said they did each item several times and i completely believe them. I truly didn't think it was possible for the items to look as good as they do!! If you have something with tough stains that you want to try to save, this is the place to go. read more

This is the best dry cleaner to use if you live in the Conshy area. The sew, they clean, they're very helpful and do an excellent job. I recently brought in an old winter coat that was pretty dirty and it took them cleaning it three times before it was actually clean and they only charged me once. They also sewed on four buttons they had on hand onto a different coat because two were missing. Like I said, very helpful. I highly recommend Town Valet. read more

Most expensive, unprofessional and worst dry cleaners I have ever been too. Did not remove any stains for ties and shirts I brought and did not apologize or give me any discount. Can't wear the shirts or ties anymore. I will never go back here and would advise you to choose another cleaners. Horrible. read more

Let me start by saying that this is my second bad experience at this cleaners. I should have known better! The first incident included having one of my dresses altered incorrectly. They fixed the mistake in time for me to wear the dress so I had returned thinking that that was an isolated event. Wrong! And unfortunately, I went with a much more important dress the second time around. So, I dropped my wedding gown off to be cleaned right after my wedding so the dirt and wear from a night of dancing could be treated immediately. I was told it takes 1 month because it's very thorough and that the dirt would absolutely come out. As of today, it has been a few days more than a month. I go in with my ticket, and the woman who works there cannot find my dress. She asks me why I didn't call to check on it. What? I let her know that wasn't requested of me when I dropped it off. I then see my dress hanging haphazardly on a hanger in the back. It hasn't been cleaned. It isn't attached to any ticket with even my name on it. The woman says they can do it overnight, but that the stains will definitely not come out. Both the woman helping me and the man who originally took my gown then start explaining why it's really my fault that it hasn't been done because I didn't call and they have so many dresses in line. I don't even know what that meant. I left with my dirty dress, and I will NEVER be back there! read more
