I received a letter from Whitley's Peanut Factory on July 10, 2023 regarding my credit card information was compromised. The letter stated that the cyber attack happened between November 24, 2021 and December 14, 2022. On May 3, 2023, CommerceV3 discovered cardholders' information was collected from Whitley's Peanut Factory. On June 6, Commerce V3 notified Whitley's Peanut Factory. One month later, I get the letter. My card was compromised back in March of 2023. I didn't know who was the culprit back then ( I shopped at my usual places). I had the credit card company cancelled my card. CommerceV3 and Whitley's Peanut Factor did not offer a free complimentary EquiFax or Experian service. They just offer suggestion on what to do to protect myself (much too late). If a online seller uses CommerceV3, I will tell them I'm not buying from them and tell them why. Whitley's Peanut has the best peanuts in the world. However, this incident will cause me to put a ban from buying their products for a very long time. Returned this year on our way home from a family vacation. We knew we wanted Virginia peanuts and had stopped at a stand near our vacation rental but their prices were insanely priced. I knew from two years ago that whitleys peanuts were quality and reasonably priced by comparison. So off to the store. Amazing employee again. Explained the reward program and the new options in the store. a few samples in the store to try. We ended up getting several cans of nuts and it should hold us over until next year. read more

If you are a nut lover or chocolate lover you don't want to miss the opportunity to taste some of their products before you buy. You get nuts, chocolate and service with a smile. Over the last 10 years, I have ordered online and stopped into this store. There products are always excellent and very fresh tasting. The store is on the small-ish size but fits the product perfectly. I don't think they have restrooms for the public use, so plan ahead. read more

This is a must do for me every time I'm in town. It's conveniently located on Richmond Road en route to Sno-to-Go and the Outlets. The staff is so helpful and friendly that even when they get busy, it's a pleasure to shop. I always find something new & delicious to try with the samples. The selection of products (and they don't JUST have peanuts) means that I walk out with a bag full of snacks and gifts. The prices are reasonable, especially considering the quality of the product. The punch card helps if you're like me and tend to buy in bulk. I'm always able to find something for myself and gifts for those on my holiday list. Whitley's Peanut Factory double charged my credit card for the same order. I was not worried as I had ordered from them before. But when I emailed them was told I would receive a credit but it never came. When I followed up the cust served rep was not helpful. When I tried a 3rd time the service rep was rude I.e. "we already answered to you type answer" I supplied them with my credit card statement showing 2 charges, same date, same amount but it did not matter. These are the best peanuts in the world and nobody else that I've ever tried comes close. I had tried both the barbecue bourbon and the salt and pepper flavors at farmers markets before, but this was my first venture into one of the company's retail stores. Nearly every flavor could be sampled. I liked the lime habanero and the Chesapeake crabby very much. Although I have to admit, I wish the salt and pepper cashews were available to sample as well, because as good as the salt and pepper peanuts are, I can only imagine how amazing that flavor would taste on cashews. The fusion health flavor was one that I didn't know existed, but I got hooked on it quickly. Blueberries, cranberries, cherries, papaya, pineapple and banana chips to go with roasted almonds and peanuts. Absolutely delicious and a great late night snack. Very friendly customer service, plus they have pre-wrapped gift options available as well. I only wish they had the redskin peanuts available as well. read more

I discovered this nifty little shop while at a conference in Williamsburg. I actually missed it going to the conference's location, but happened to see it as I was returning to my hotel. A colleague introduced me to Virginia peanuts a couple or so years ago, and I was instantly hooked - they've a certain quality that distinguishes them just enough from your "run of the mill" nuts. Anyway, while the shop itself is small, there's no shortage of variety once inside. You name the type of nut, they likely have it. I opted for a can of the honey roasted peanuts, along with two bags of butter toffee peanuts (one to give to my sister-in-law, who loves that flavor) and one bag of salted redskin peanuts. All were very tasty. Staff are extremely friendly, welcoming, and patient - I had to take my time in there and figure out which flavors I *really* wanted to try, lest I'd have bought out roughly a quarter of the shop's supply. Luckily for us non-locals, they have an online store as well, which I used to try several more flavors, notably regular and redskin peanuts, both unsalted (and yes, they were excellent as well). Had to repeat the honey roasted ones, too. By all means, if you're hanging out in Williamsburg or around one of their other locations, stop by and try a bag or a can. Ordered a 2 pound bag as a product test, intending to buy lots more for the peanut hounds in my office. Initial impressions were mediocre; it's a better peanut than those found at Costco, but not OMG quality - not worth the price in my opinion. The pisser was when someone pulled the half empty plastic bag out of the burlap sack the nuts came in (for a premium price) to reveal that the bottom 1/3 of the bag was full of shell dust and other filler crap. I paid an inflated price for these so-so nuts, and got ripped off by Whitley's filling the bottom of the bag with garbage. I sent them a photograph and a letter of complaint, but I guess they don't care, as there was no response. Unless you like a mediocre peanut, and you like getting ripped off, I'd avoid this company. You haven't eaten a peanut til you've had one of Whitley's. Their cute little peanut store is packed with all kinds of goodies. They have sample nuts to help make the choosing easier; although it's still hard. I always get a burlap sack of unsalted in the shell- a must have. This time around I also picked up a container of chocolate covered peanuts and peanut chew which is like pieces of a payday candy bar. Delicious. These peanuts are so fresh and big. The peanut brittle is buttery and smooth. Whitley's has spoiled me to all other peanuts. read more

I'm nuts for this peanut shop! So glad FH and I stopped here on the last leg of our Williamsburg trip. Virginia is known for their peanuts and this shop did not disappoint. It was the perfect place to pick up family and co-worker gifts. Walking in we were immediately greeted and invited to sample nuts to our hearts content on the sample table. The sales woman also pointed out where in the store various products were located such as chocolate covered nuts versus raw nuts for boiling. There were even non-nut made in Virginia items and doggy treats! I can't wait to give my fur babies the unique treats I picked up. I was disappointed I couldn't get the Chesapeake Crabby peanuts yet ( man are those things good!) but I did sign up on the mailing list. One of the cutest things they had were these nuts for work peanut bobble head figurines- they had em for anything you could think of. My FH and I bought the girlfriend and boyfriend ones for each other and traded. We love them so much they will probably become our wedding cake toppers. I also bought two tins of butter toffee nuts (one for the co-workers), dark chocolate covered peanuts, and a small salted peanut tin for myself.
