I knew from the very first time of meeting with Paige at the Solista High Point, this was the place I wanted my mom to be. Going from a private living environment to a Independent Living community is a scary experience for anyone, but the Solista Staff took her under their wings as they do every tenant and made her feel she was a part of the Solista family for years. Thats what they are at the Solista, one big happy family. The Solista unlike other Senior communities doesn't change their ways acting differently once you've moved in, they continue to grow as a community and the residents there are made to feel important and have a voice. Every time you walk in the front entry, you are greeted by the sweetest smile from Tandra at the front desk, Paige and David are always seen corresponding with the residents and helping out wherever necessary ensuring no one goes without. I won't go into details but I can tell you I have personally witnessed Paige, David, Johnny and the entire crew for that matter going out of there way doing things for the Solista residents that are not a part of their job description to help a resident out in such a way it prevents the residents from going into an emotional crisis and puts the residents at ease. Its the little things that mean the most. The reciprocation from the staff is contagious... The Residents are fantastic at welcoming in new People and looking out for each other's best interest. The trees , plants, etc are well maintained all year keeping the community looking beautiful! The staff in the places I dealt with them were courteous and friendly as well as helpful. From the moment you…read morego through the checkpoint, you can tell it is a very quiet and private community the employees care very much for the property as well as the residence and provide an exceptional quality of care for all of the people residing here. The property is very inviting to walk around as they have a small pond, lots of artwork on the outside, and the inside most buildings are connectedand you can walk from building the building without having to go outside. This is a higher end residential community, so it is a bit expensive to live here but as I stated the quality of care is exceptional, whether you are living on your own or assisted living.

I work as a sitter for a client in Strickland Place. The CNA's when I'm working here are rude and…read moreunfriendly. On multiple occasions I have heard them talking about the residents loudly out in the halls. I have even heard them talking about the resident that I sit with. One of the CNAs said that the resident under my care, "is very rude and when I see her call light on when I'm working I purposely don't go in there because I don't want to deal with her" what if I wasn't in the room with her and there was an emergency? Another one of the CNAs took a very ugly tone with my client and said, "I don't know I'm not in her brain" when the resident asked when the nurse would be coming in with her pills. I found this very disrespectful and I personally would never speak to a resident or any person that way. Another thing is that they take up to 30 minutes to even come into the room and see what the call button was pushed for. The nurses, food service workers, and other employees are very nice and the facility is always clean. The only real problem i've seen is with the CNA's. f

This is a beautiful place in every way. I went there for an afternoon to volunteer alongside some…read morefriends and get to learn about what they do. The people in their care are severely disabled and completely reliant on the caregivers. Most of them are completely non-verbal. Some can say a few words. Those who work there so obviously adore their patients/clients, and love what they do. The grounds are gorgeous, and they have plans for renovating the facility. There is currently construction underway and they are excited about being able to offer even more to those in their care. The way that they treat the people in their care is so reflective of an acknowledgement of their human dignity. Everyone has heard horror stories about institutions that care for people who are unable to care for themselves. This place is on the opposite extreme, and it's such a noble cause. They are looking for volunteers and they have a wishlist of items on their website for those who want to help a charity that is having a tangible impact on people's lives.

Our real estate agent, Zachary Roberts had toured it already, and he came with us. I wasn't sure what to expect when I walked through the front doors of Harmony at Greensboro. Marian Ragsdale, their Director of Sales and Marketing, met us with a warm welcome. Then what I immediately saw was a bright, cozy gathering room filled with people enjoying one another. All around on the walls I saw beautiful artwork, tastefully incorporated with fine furnishings. It was "swanky." We walked past a dining room where the tables were covered with white tablecloths and set for company. Marian showed us several residential 2-bedroom apartments. They were bright and beautiful. I had seen the floor plans, but they didn't do them justice. Let me just say that if you are considering whether to tour a community, do it for sure. Standing in the middle of each room, I could easily feel myself living there. If that were not enough, the services that they provide - fine dining service, housecleaning, light-bulb changing - anything you are now doing at home they do for you. Lastly, I thought it would feel like hotel living, but I say it's more like living in a neighborhood. I wanted to come home and pack!
