When I hadn't showed up 5 minutes into our appointment, she reached out with a very personalized text message to make sure I was not lost. Their studio had moved about two blocks down the street, but I still had the wrong address (completely on me). She made sure I knew how to get to the new location and even which side of the building to park on. Even though we started late, she was still able to perform my full one hour massage. I was extremely relaxed the entire time. The music was gorgeous and had me picturing beautiful nature scenes. I had to fight the urge to fall asleep a few times. I left feeling calm and serene. I felt more limber. The back and hip pain I had before going was gone. I would absolutely go back. It's therapeutic, intentional, and results-driven. Exactly what I want. Heajin specializes in Thai and lymphatic massage, and she is phenomenal. Thai massage is more like assisted stretching, and she incorporates it beautifully. She also took time to explain lymphatic flow, gave me tips on how to support it at home, and clearly cares about long-term wellbeing, not just the session itself. One thing to note: at Unwind, therapists may get on the table with you, especially for Thai or deep tissue work. That's part of the technique and something to be aware of if you're new to that style, but for me it speaks to how seriously they take proper body mechanics and effectiveness. The space is calm, professional, and welcoming, and the level of skill here is outstanding. Today, I arrived 10 minutes early for my appointment but wasn't seen until 15 minutes after my scheduled time. I ended up leaving the treatment room just 12 minutes into the session. The service was completely unskilled: rushed, inconsistent, lacking rhythm, and missing the foundational techniques that define a competent, professional massage therapist. A skilled therapist uses intentional pressure, consistent/proper flow, and an understanding of muscle anatomy to create a therapeutic and cohesive experience none of which were present. Realizing the session was doing more harm than good, I made the decision to end it and leave. The front desk staff clearly knew something had gone wrong, as my early departure was obviously due to dissatisfaction. Yet I was still charged $139. Not only is that unreasonable, but deeply unprofessional. When I called for clarification, I was met with a scripted cancellation-policy explanation given by the same employee who witnessed me ending the service early and leaving the studio upset. Only after pressing for details was I told I'd need to speak with a manager. The entire interaction was dismissive, confusing, and frankly, insulting. This visit brought frustration instead of the relaxation this business is supposed to offer. And for anyone who believes the service I received, particularly from Pam, is acceptable, I can assure you they have not experienced a true massage from a trained, skilled professional.

If there had only been one or two of these they wouldn't have affected the score, but to experience all in one visit deserves a reckoning. * the massage oil was wonderfully warm when used on my back but was not kept at that temperature and by the time the massage was halfway through the oil was lukewarm when applied to the arms and downright cold when applied to the legs. * the music abruptly stopped and we were in silence for several minutes. A couple times before that the song would abruptly end and a new one would start. Not a huge issue, but did mess with the relaxing vibe. * by the time I checked in and got to my room it was a few minutes past my starting time. To be fair, I arrived right at the start of my appointment time (parking was hard to find in the area and I had to walk a ways). That said, the receptionist was busy with a client and told me to wait and that took up some time. I was finally in the room to disrobe 10 min after the original start. When my massage ended I was sad to see that the late start was not taken into account and I had only received a 40-45 min massage instead of a 60 min one. Don't get me wrong, it was a great 40 minutes, but I was shelling out the money for 60 minutes of needed work and felt disappointed that I wasn't getting everything I thought I was paying for. * I spent about 4-6 minutes waiting for my masseuse to come back into the room after disrobing. I know every minute of my massage is precious so it took me about a minute to strip to my comfort level and get under the sheet. And then I waited. And waited. And waited. Next time I'll tell my masseuse I don't need that long to prepare because I started to get annoyed by the length of time I was waiting. Especially since it was taking time out of my session (see above). * as mentioned above, parking was hard to find despite not being the weekend. I'd read reviews saying parking wasn't an issue and misjudged the time I needed to not only find a spot but then walk the difference to the parlor. * finally, the website is horrible. It was hard to navigate and not user friendly. At the end of the day if one or two of the above things had happened I would've brushed it off and been content. But with all those issues being prevalent in one visit I had to mark down my overall experience. 4 stars on the app because the masseuse was skilled, but 3-3.5 stars overall because the experience was lacking.
