I had a deep tissue with Daniel, it was the best massage I've ever had and I've been to spas all around the world. he knew every muscle and just how much pressure you put and not put to release my neck and back pain from chronic pain. highly recommend read more

This was the weirdest massage experience. I was gifted a massage here and booked an appointment a few days in advance. They seemed to have loads of appointments available. I don't know any of the therapists so I let the system choose mine for me. I arrived 15 mins before my appointment time as most places want you to chill out with a cup of tea and some relaxing music before your massage. No dice. The (kinda rundown) building has a janky call box to let you in and you can't hear I'd and when someone answers to buzz you in. Another person came in with me and told me how creepy the building was - the floor she got off on was barely half lit. I get to the floor of the place and it was stinky and dimly lit too. I find the door - it's locked - and I knock. No one is there. It's late morning not first thing in the day. So I call the place and a guy answers but sounds like I bothered him - tells me that he's working remotely and will call my therapist. Then calls me to tell me she's in her way. She arrives just after when my appointment was to start. So now I'm a bit worked up but also weirdly nervous because the whole thing was so off putting. Therapist was curt and arrived with a child. I nearly changed my mind and left but decided to stay went with it. Since no one was there nothing was prepared. Cold table - warmer not on. No music, no ambiance. No offer of a drink before. Just a lot of turning on computers and lights. I don't want to be there for that when I'm there for pure relaxation. The massage itself was decidedly fine. Not terrible but definitely not the best I've experienced by any measure. It was matter of fact with no consultation really. Just business and done. I wasn't impressed. This isn't the experience I'd ever want someone else to spend their hard earned money on for some relaxation. There are comparably priced places where you'd get the full experience of a spa relaxation. Go there. read more

Booked a massage for a Friday and got extra lost getting there so 8730 is the door right next to M&T building on Georgia Ave. The street parking is hard to come by near here but if you can get it, a lot of it is 1 hour only. I parked in a paid lot behind the M&T Building - cash only. And it was right by the entrance to the building. The suite is beautifully appointed and relaxing and even on Georgia Ave the noise is minimal. They don't have a weird loop on the music that jolts me from my relaxation nor do they play nothing but white noise, it's a perfect relaxation blend though I can't say I remember any one song standing out, which in my mind is how it should be. They also have beautiful water features, perfect lighting and comfortable tables. The customer service was awesome, from the communications and directions to the place to the AHMAZING massage. I felt like I was with a chiropractor or physiotherapist. Which I have and use both but these knots needed some pressure work! I got it! It was AWESOME. Ciara was amazing! 10/10 read more

I went to Fresh Start for the first time this week. I had a 90 minute deep tissue massage and it was unreal. Ciara did an amazing job getting knots out of not only my shoulders but also my neck which I didn't know was a thing. 90 minutes went by far too quickly and for the first time in a loooong time I didn't feel any tension in my body. Following the massage, they have a cute little room where you can sit and drink or water or tea and listen to a fountain. It was such a relaxing space. I cannot wait to go back! Thank you Ciara! read more

Fresh Start never disappoints! Every time I go I receive friendly service and a great massage. Highly recommend!

Very professional service from Daniel: good pressure level and very relaxing space. I loved the heated massage table!

Daniel gave me the best massage I have ever had. I had lower back tension for months and after one session with him, he alleviated most of my back pain. He was so knowledgeable about human anatomy and which muscle groups have the most influence on each other. I highly recommend this place and I highly recommend you ask for Daniel. read more

I just had a 45-minute deep tissue massage with Lawrence, owner of Fresh Start Massage and Bodywork, and I can honestly say it was the best massage I've ever had--and I've been getting massages regularly for the past 15 years. Lawrence is incredibly skilled, intuitive, and professional. From the moment the session began, it was clear that he brings not just technique but real presence and attention to his work. He took the time to listen, assess, and then delivered a deeply effective treatment that felt customized to what my body needed. He honed in on areas of tightness and imbalance I didn't even realize were affecting my posture and movement, and he worked through them with both precision and care. His approach is thorough and highly attuned--he doesn't just go through the motions. He clearly understands the body and how to adjust and release deep-seated tension in a way that leaves you feeling aligned, relaxed, and renewed. If you're looking for someone who really knows what they're doing and takes their craft seriously, Lawrence is it. I walked out feeling like I had a fresh start, just like the name promises. Can't wait to go back. read more

If you want a really good massage, this is the place to go. Friendly staff and quality massages.

I got a deep tissue massage from Lin. She really paid attention to the areas where I had pain and wanted her to focus on. She did a great job. My pain was totally gone the next day! read more

I had an hour-long Swedish massage with Lin. She is attentive to client needs and feedback. I first saw her when I was seriously stiff after a few long days on my feet; my knees and hips were especially painful. Lin organized a perfect session with good flow to address my joint pain with some wonderful stretches I had never experienced before while also spending adequate time on my back and shoulders, which I wanted to relax. The Silver Spring office was easy to get to and all the office logistics were handled quickly and respectfully. Definitely will come back. read more

Lawrence is the best masseuse around. I cannot recommend enough to people in the area. ive tried several other people and no one is as good.

Amazing massage with Lin! A friend of mine sent me a gift certificate for the holidays so I didn't know what to expect (just in town for a visit.) I got a 90 minute deep tissue massage which was excellent. Lin was attentive and focused on the areas I had pain. She checked in multiple times to make sure everything was going well. There was a small hiccup with the sound system during the massage but she handled it right away and was very apologetic (despite it not being her fault.) I highly recommend! read more

Booked online for two Swedish massages for myself and my BF's Mom, who is in great shape but also elderly. They accommodated us same day. Upon our (early) arrival they greeted us and we were in our rooms within 2-3 minutes, almost no wait. The space was very clean and quiet, with soothing music playing during the massage. A nice and appreciated touch was the heated massage tables! We both thought our respective masseuses provided high quality massages and are skilled at their craft. My massage was with Lawrence. He used the full hour (maybe even a few extra minutes), applied the perfect amount of pressure, and did some extra concentration on my lower back which I had mentioned had a dull ache. BF's Mom had a massage with Tasha and her feedback was she also felt perfect amount of pressure with no pain at all (I get worried because of her age), and she felt "super relaxed" after :). Overall a very enjoyable experience and I will definitely return. One thing to note: the studio is located in a secure building (good) that you have to be buzzed into. Not going to lie the outside system is pretty confusing it seems as if nothing works. There were two equally confused people waiting before us. After seeing the 2 ppl's attempts I tried hitting the suite number of the massage studio with no result, so I ended up just hitting a button marked A and the Call button and someone buzzed us in, much thanks to whoever that was lol. I'm sure this can be solved by a phone call to the massage studio upon arrival - just giving a heads up. read more

Last Friday was my 1st time here. There is so much emphasis on the client not being late, but the massage therapist was 15 minutes late, so that took 15 minutes away from my 45 minute massage! Only got a $5 refund whereas I should at least gotten $15 off! Probably will not be back. read more

Got my first deep tissue massage in many years with Kia today. She was like a heat seeking missile in finding my challenge areas! Used great pressure, was careful with my discussed injury areas, and was extremely professional. I have already booked my next session with her and have added an extra half hour to my session! I felt like a new person walking out the door! Thanks Kia! See you soon! read more

Tasha gave me one of the best massages I have ever had. I will definitely be a return customer!

Tasha was flexible and responsive when I brought up trying more of a deep tissue experience to learn what my body needed. I'm eager to continue working with her and would definitely recommend to people who carry a lot of tension and are new to massage. read more

Lawrence is great. After lots of tennis and skiing and working in a computer, he gets my muscles and tissue back into place every time!

Even if you sign up for a specific massage, I think all of the massage therapist have the skill set to adjust the massage during the appointment (in real time) based off of their own professional assessment of what they feel is going on with your muscles and your body. They know the body. And can educate you about your muscles, stretch you and give you exactly what you need. read more

Ben my therapist was not prepared for me. I paid for anica oil but he said he didn't know about it until I questioned him about it half into the massage. He was dropping cold oil on my body and couldn't maintain a consistent pressure unfortunately. read more

Tasha is really wonderful. The setting is no frills - but they provide a calm and peaceful setting. Tasha is an excellent masseuse who really understands how to alleviate pain read more

I love the relaxing environment, convenient location and I received a great massage. Kenny did a great job working on my knotted muscles.

This place is a hidden gem. The office space is clean and calm, appointments run on time, and Lawrence is a wizard at finding knots and undoing them with a combination of massage techniques and stretches. This is deep tissue work, so not all of it is comfortable in the moment, but unlocking all the tight spots is worth the need for some yoga breathing (and Lawrence is great at adjusting pressure to keep the body from reacting with yet more tension). I haven't tried the CBD lotion add-on, because I usually leave feeling pretty zoned out just on the endorphins. Treat yourself! read more

May first experience was great. Only thing I would have added was some essential oils and massage cream. Only because my skin is so dry. Also, I hope you consider a membership program. I would gladly pay monthly. I use to have a membership at another place. But had to stop it when my late husband took ill. I went back but the service level dropped. read more

Tasha is excellent. She is capable, thoughtful, asks questions and listens very intently to understand the issues you are experiencing, and she is excellent at massage and achieving results. She has been working on my inflamed shoulder for a few months now, and it is so much better. After the first visit, the pain was completely gone, and it has been managed with subsequent visits once/month. I would highly recommend Tasha to anyone looking for sports, deep tissue or other type of massage. read more

I always have THE most relaxing massage here. Professional staff, tranquil atmosphere & conveniently located.

Lawrence was referred to me by my best friend who uses him as well. She would rave about him to me every time she got a massage. Months later I finally decided to try him. Lawrence is amazing! By far the best deep tissue and triggerpoints massage I've ever gotten in my life. I have a history of back surgery and a lot of pelvic floor issues after having two kids. I've been doing physical therapy for five years. He definitely gave me one of the best massage experiences I've ever had. I booked him for next week too. read more

Tasha T. was amazing - best massage I've had in years. She's really thorough, skilled and overall great to work with.

Great intro session focusing on a problem area. Way they worked spots showed good understanding of body mechanics.

I got a massage from Tasha. This was my first visit and the best massage I ever had, seriously. If I lived in the area she would be my only masseuse. She was very professional and sincere. The pressure was perfect and I did not leave sore and hurting from the deep tissue massage! You could tell she took care of her hands and arms because there were very very smooth and soft. She made sure I was ok at all times. She paid attention to my joints as well. That was a first for me. I came in with a headache and left with none. She also helped the muscle spasms I was having. Yea, I was in bad shape. She also educated me on how to be healthier. I would recommend her 100%. read more
