Great massage. Price is incredible and service was even better. I will be back for sure

Over the course of my time here, I've had the pleasure of experiencing treatments from each of the therapists, and I can wholeheartedly say they are all exceptional. The level of professionalism, skill, and genuine care for clients' well-being is consistent across the board. Each session has been a journey of relaxation, rejuvenation, and healing. The therapists are not only proficient in their techniques, but they also ensure a personalized approach that caters to individual needs. Every visit was an oasis of calm, providing me with a much-needed escape and relief from the stresses of daily life. Thank you for the countless hours of relaxation and healing. I am deeply grateful. read more

I booked a couples massage for my boyfriends birthday. We usually go to the same massage spa when we're in the area but wanted to try somewhere new. Over the phone, they asked if we wanted to be in the same or separate rooms, of course, since we wanted to do a couples massage, we wanted to be in the same room. However, when we got there, we were in separate adjoining rooms that was technically one room separated by a wall, not what is standard for a couples massage nor what we were expecting from the yelp pictures but it wasn't that big of a deal. I noticed that one bed was made with a rose on it and the other one didn't look to be set up. The sheet was folded up and I had to undo it myself. The massage therapist didn't ask what areas I needed focusing on which although they usually do, some massage therapists will go based off the muscle and can tell what area require more attention. However, the massage felt like a whole lot of nothing. Just a series of rubs and pressure on my body in an aggressive way that wasn't accomplishing much. The therapist spent a lot of time massaging my scalp which ended up just putting my hair into a giant knot afterwards. We went to give a 20% tip for each therapist but was rejected at the front counter demanding we give a 35% tip each?! Mediocre massage and service, will not be returning nor would recommend. read more

This place represents everything I would ever hope to experience at a massage business. So many times at big name massage places I've entered the building in a pre-relaxed state, looking forward to that slightly toxic but blissful hangover after a good massage, only to be greeted by a sales person who wants to ask me 25 questions to "customize" my massage....only to have the masseuse repeat the questionnaire during the massage that started 15 minutes late... to compound the issue, you're often asked to review the massage and listen to massage packages options before you're allowed to pay and leave. I couldn't think of anything less relaxing. Enter Tranquil Moon and the best masseuse I've ever experienced, Vicky. Let me summarize the experience after sharing my expectations with you. When I schedule a massage, my body doesn't feel as good as I want it to. I want to show up on time, be shown to a room, appropriately undress, and get a massage so my body feels better, pay, and leave. Today I had my 3rd (or 4th) massage from Vicky, and the first massage ever where I've honestly been completely comfortable getting a massage (I feel like it SHOULD cause a bit of anxiety if you're a decent man with a female masseuse). I walked in 5 minutes before my appointment. Vicky greets me. Not a sales staff member ready for a meeting, but my massage provider. When I am ready, she shows me to the room we'll be using and excuses herself. I undress and wait for her on the massage table. She greets me back in the room and says, "medium or deep?" "Medium," I reply. Not another word is spoken until I say, "Vicky, can we do 90 minutes today? Is that okay?" "Yes." She doesn't know I'm a golf pro. She doesn't know I've been in 5 car accidents. She doesn't know how many vertebrae I've fractured. We've never had a conversation about it. It seems to me that her fingers seem to tell her. Today I walked in limping. My whole body has been sore and beat up. During my massage she finds areas on both of my hips that were really agitated. I didn't know they were, but she found them. No discussion, she works them out. In 90 minutes, she discovered an ailment I didn't know I had and sent it packing. She doesn't know I have chronic QL spasms in the left side of my back from a car accident 3 years ago. But when she finds the muscle, she's significantly more gentle around it, while still attending to it than on the other side. She doesn't know I have tendonitis in my left elbow and right wrist, but her hands knew exactly where to pay attention for me to leave feeling......for lack of a better word, back in balance. A review is obviously a reflection of a person's opinion of an experience. It is my opinion that a true expert of massage can feel their away around a person's body to locate their needs while providing a peaceful, comfortable, and relaxing experience. That's exactly what Vicky does, and as long as she's practicing in the area, I'll never go anywhere else. read more

Fairly new masseuse at this location by the name of Sammy is very good, quite experienced with pressure points, muscle knots, basic physiology, joints and strong! An hour of massage from her is like 90 minutes with an above average masseuse in the area. It does help that she is fairly fluent in English, very professional and is trained in American Massage Therapy as well. High recommend. read more

Fantastic massage! Searched for close by massages while in town visiting friends. I would like to call myself a massage connoisseur; seeking out awesome places while traveling. This one ranks in my top ten. Excellent service, great hands on attention, and all round easy transaction. A little hard to find being in a townhouse/business strip. Inside was very pleasant and smelled great. Our masseuses gave each of us exactly what we wanted. Professional for me and my hetero man friend. We will be back and spread the word to our local friends: read more

Great place for anyone in need of a massage!! read more

Today was my first visit to the TM and I must say I'm very satisfied. The place is super clean and aesthetically appealing. The massage that I received from Susan was excellent. She focused on the areas I asked her to and checked in with me now and then to make sure she was doing OK. I spoke with Vicky when I first called and she was great, making an appointment was super easy! And the icing on the cake is that the prices are very good & location is just 14 minutes from my home :-) read more

I have had a great experience both times I have come here ( I got another massage today). The place is simple, and clean. Vicky makes it so easy to schedule appointments and the masseuse is wonderful! She asks if you would like medium or hard pressure during the beginning of the massage, and of course you can always communicate with your masseuse during. Her touch is amazing, She really works on tense areas, and does her best to alleviate tension. I recommend the 90 minute massage so you get more relaxation time (who couldn't use an extra chunk of massage time?!). I enjoy coming Here and look forward to my next visit! I'll be adding hot stones next time around :)#selfcare read more

This is a bit long, because it's been a (rather unpleasant) saga. Just returned from my second appointment at TM -- and the second time NOT getting a massage. First time, I showed up on time, the place was locked and no one answered the phone. Left a message, waited a few minutes, then left. Vicky called the following day to apologize ("something came up") and offered to give me a free massage. Told me to call or text her, which I did: scheduled today's appointment through text, so we both had it in writing. Showed up today a few minutes early. Vicky took my upstairs, then told me that someone else had scheduled a couple's massage for the same time slot, that she'd need to do THAT massage, and can I wait an hour(!) I said no. So she called another masseuse, told me that this other masseuse would be there in 5-10 minutes to help with the couple, and she, Vicky, would massage me right away. As soon as I got off my jewelry Vicky walked back in to tell me that I would have to wait for the other masseuse. I reminded her that that was the second time out of two, and asked why she can't have the couple wait, to which she replied "I don't want to get two people mad." By that time it had already been 7 mins past my scheduled time; I know that "5 to 10 minutes" can easily be15-20 minutes; and I got a taste of their attitude, so I left. Maybe they know how to do a massage (if you ever get to that point) but they certainly don't know how to run a business OR how to treat customers. read more

Tranquil Moon is a relaxing place to unwind. I like that there are actual rooms instead of just curtain/dividers between massage beds. Make sure to make an appointment or call before going to make sure that they can accomodate you immediately. I have tried having a massage with 2 different masseuse and I enjoyed both times. read more

I don't normally write reviews but this experience was so disappointing, I would like to prevent others from having a similar experience. I called to make an appointment and was told it costs $70 for a 1 hr massage which is more than on the website. I was fine with it since maybe things changed due to Covid. I arrived and was told it cost $75, I told her she told me it was $70 and handed her $80. This alone set the tone, I thought this stuff only happened during traveling abroad? During the massage she burped multiple times and was on the phone in an aggressive manner which made it difficult to relax. I didn't sign up to have someone burping and yelling in my ear. The massage was below minimum and wasn't any better than my foam roller. There are plenty of options in Rockville, at least pretend you care about the customer. read more

Nothing fancy but always a great massage. Very friendly and well trained. Prices are super competitive but service is still excellent.

I've been going to Tranquil Moon for about a year and I couldn't be happier! The 90 minute full body massage is my go to! I've had a different masseuse every time, but the quality of my massage has always been the same. They do a wonderful job with the massage itself, but the decor/ambiance is also very calming, and they are very kind and always make sure I'm comfortable. I'll be coming back again and again! read more

The massage is pretty good however the yelp link to schedule appointment doesn't seem to work, also the website for booking is misleading as it says tips included in your total but it's not. read more

Really great. Very professional and welcoming staff. I will definitely go back. I had a very relaxing experience

Today I went to Tranquil Moon for the 4th time. I always had a good experience, but today was the best. Annie did my massage, and she was extremely caring and considerate. She asked me for feedback on the pressure a few different times and even on the temperature of the hot towel. I went into the business very tired and worn out and left relaxed but energized and restored. Annie's touch was very healing. I will be asking for her next time. read more

I've been here three times and I can't say how happy I am to have found this place thanks to positive Yelp reviews. I have neuromuscular disease and Vicky and Susan understood my issues right away. There is also Tina, haven't had her yet, but I have no doubt she will be great. These Chinese ladies are very skilled, highly professional, respectful and friendly. They use hot stones, too! And for God's sake, where can you get a 90 minute massage in Montgomery County for $70 plus tip??? Don't walk, run, to Tranquil Moon!! read more

I went to this place because of the good reviews. Very disappointed and here are the reasons. 1. As soon as you walk in the place, you have the mould smell. 2. The masseuse put the used towel back to the towel heater. I am not sure whether she is going to do with the used towel. That makes me feel terribly. 3. The manager recommended the higher price deep tissue massage, but the masseuse just did the body rub. I paid extra for nothing, and the massage is not different than any other Chinese massage places. I do not recommend this place. read more

You might not have noticed yet, but quite a few small, totally legit, therapeutic massage businesses have sprung up in Rockville over the past few years. Believe it or not, there are now four of them in the 966 Hungerford Drive office park alone! And though I have not sampled more than a few of these businesses, I just cannot imagine that there is a better masseuse at any of them than Vickie at Tranquil Moon, which is in Suite 14A at 966 Hungerford, adjacent to the Montgomery College Rockville Campus. Though Tranquil Moon has been around for a few years, it is still a tiny, individually-owned (in fact, Vickie-owned) business and therefore doesn't have all the bells and whistles that you're going to see at Massage Envy and the like. But it's clean, it's honest, it's relatively inexpensive and the masseuses (especially Vickie) are very good, very accommodating of your particular predilections, and incredibly pleasant. They're also amazingly strong for such tiny women! Another important fact is that you can still get an appointment relatively easily and relatively soon, which ain't gonna happen at places such as Massage Envy. One thing to be prepared for is that the masseuses are Chinese immigrants and some of them speak heavily-accented English. It isn't a big deal -- pretty soon you'll understand each other on the phone well enough to make an appointment. Trust me, it's worth the effort. read more

Top notch! I was in desperate need of a massage during a stressful period and Vicky came through in a pinch. I sprung for the 60-minute deep tissue. Later that night, I slept better than I had in weeks. Brilliant experience. Will return! read more

I use computer too much for my work and I often need a massage to ease my shoulder pain. I visited several massage shops in Rockville, and this place is the best. I was a member of Massage Heights but I quit the membership because the training levels of their therapists vary. I had to be lucky to get a good massage and making appointment with a specific therapist was not easy. Also, same day appointment was not possible many times. But at this place, I had the same perfect massage every time, because there are only 2 therapists and both are very skillful. Also, I made the same day appointment for all 4 times. Moreover, the price is very good, too. read more

This is the my first visit, but I shouldn't be telling you this, this is the best massage I have EVER gotten! This woman knows what she is doing and gets down to it right away. My neck and back hurt a lot, I got instant relief after the message. And the price is insanely good. And she's a sweetheart and totally professional. The hot bed, hot stone and essential oil she used is really professional. The music is relaxing. Highly recommended. I will definitely go back. read more

I liked my massage so much , I got a gift certificate for my girl friend and she was so happy and told me that is was the best massage, she didn't want to go to Massage Envy because she heard bad things The rooms were very comfortable and clean read more

This place is solid! I was dying for a massage and this place has incredible prices. Massage was stellar. Clean rooms and professional masseuses. If you make an appointment you can save a couple bucks versus just walking in. Plenty of parking out front, look for suite 14A as the physical address is a little misleading. Cant wait to go back for another massage! read more

My first visit to Tranquil Moon was fabulous! I read the reviews and requested Vicki. Upon arrival, I read Hot Stones are included with massage and asked that they be incorporated into my massage. My 60 minute deep tissue massage was excellent and really helped alleviate the tension in my neck and shoulders. Next visit, my only change will be booking a longer session. read more

Me and my boyfriend booked a massage with them, and they were able to accommodate us for the same day service! They worked thoroughly on the entire body, and were able to detect and work on my boyfriends difficult spots and he was really happy about that! Would definitely recommend! read more
