I have been plagued with long haul Covid symptoms since first contracting Covid in January 2020. I healed from the initial infection, however, I have suffered from varying symptoms including headaches, foggy memory, intense fatigue, and bodily aches and pins mostly in my joints. I read at the end of a NY Times article about long haul Covid, that Crossings was a provider that treated patients with my series of issues. That day changed my life. Ever since I began getting accupunctire treatments here at Crossings I have improved in many ways. The headaches diminished in severity and number, and, at least in the days after a session, most of the other symptoms have been alleviated in a marked degree. Corey and Jane have been my saving angels. I was also feeling desperately depressed thinking there would never be relief from these debilitating symptoms. At least for me, they have abated and even my mental anguish has been lifted upon feeling more energized, renewed and improved. I don't know about other services there. But have seen massage tables and have dreamt about getting one. They also have classes for a variety of wellness topics. I wholeheartedly recommend them. read more

My insurance doesn't cover acupuncture, but I would gladly pay for the improvements I've experienced by working with Robyn. You should decide whether to go here based on a specific practitioner, not for the practice itself. Crossings as an entity does not exist. Crossings is a group of high quality practitioners, one of whom has been incredibly beneficial to me. However, Crossings as an entity refuses to acknowledge and assume accountability for any of the practitioners in their practice, instead stating in no uncertain terms that each is an independent business. This occasionally becomes an issue with things like billing. For example, with respect to inclement weather: even if schools and the federal and state government have declared conditions too hazardous for travel, each practitioner decides whether or not to charge their clients for missed appointments and can instruct Crossings staff to contact the client and collect the payments. Despite high quality service from the individual practitioner that I use, I find this deliberate lack of accountability to be disingenuous and also deceptive from a marketing perspective. I give my practitioner high marks for the quality of care. For administrative policies, Crossings itself gets low marks. This averages out to an intermediate rating. read more

I have had a good experience at Crossings. I have been seeing Jane Grissmer for years. I was an acupuncture skeptic for many years before I began treatment with Jane. Before agreeing to try acupuncture, I got a couple of recommendations from within the industry (easy to do when your sister is an acupuncturist). My seasonal allergies are much, much better now. I take herbs that Jane has prescribed as well. Unfortunately, I am guilty for not going regularly. When you are chronic issues, you should go regularly. If you are interested in acupuncture, but are not sure about it, talk to more than one practitioner before starting treatment. I was exposed to acupuncturists that my sister knew from her training at the Tai Sophia Institute (now the Maryland University of Integrative Health.) This organization has a "Find a Practitioner" page. Most important, you have to feel comfortable with your acupuncturist. Personalities do not always click. If after a session or two, you don't look forward to seeing your acupuncturist again, don't - but don't give up on acupuncture! For acupuncture to be successful, you must be comfortable talking with your acupuncturist. Unlike the typical western medicine MD, a good acupuncturist will want to listen to you. The downside of this is . . . your acupuncturist can get behind schedule. Knowing this, I avoid scheduling with Jane in the afternoon. read more

A fantastic place -- I highly recommend Gillian for accupuncture. The location really needs to reevaluate their front desk staff, though; I've been coming here for a year and the older female receptionist is just downright grumpy and sometimes even just plain nasty- both on the phone and in person. I've witnessed this both with her other interactions with people and with myself; a shame given the restorative goals of the company. The younger African-American receptionist is absolutely lovely, though. read more

Mari, one of the two acupuncturist is wonderful, she's very intuitive. I appreciate the fact that she tracks each session to get an overall picture of bodily shifts due to the practice. Whether you're a first timer or already sold, this is the place for acupuncture. They even have a sliding payment scale. The only drawback is that there isn't alot of privacy outside of a divider. People are respectful though so noise isn't a real problem. read more

I have only been to Dr. Christina Steele, who is a a wonderful osteopath. My whole family has gone to her, and she has helped us tremendously heal, get stronger and feel better. I highly recommend her as osteopath. She is a beautiful person with great energy and magical healing hands. read more

I have only been here once, for yoga nidra, so I don't much about the other offerings. However, the space is nice, with a nice shop with CDs, relaxation stuff, books, etc.. It's a little weird being in an office building and having flourescent lights, but those get turned off for the session anyways. The walls are nicely painted, and there are big windows (at least in the room we were in). I thought the noise from Fenton St was going to be frustrating, but I never even noticed it once we got started. read more

Loved my massage from Holly, and it had a very zen office area. I came in with some serious neck pain and left with more mobility and feeling quite relaxed. It looks like crossings also offers some interesting classes including yoga and meditation. I will definitely be coming back in the future. read more

I have seen Jane Grissmer for a couple years, and now consider her my primary care physician. She and a physical therapist at crossings diagnosed my leg pain as a hip problem, which my GP had missed. I also used her to help my son with some urinary problems, and both my daughters and my husband have been in to see her. I can't say enough about the place! read more

Two weeks ago I woke up with a stiff and painful neck. A week later I gave up and scheduled a massage with Hope Hodges at Crossings. She did great work. My neck felt much better the next day. Too good in fact. I worked out, with care, the next three days, and on the 3rd day, hurt my neck again. I went back to Hope the next day and got a longer massage. Much better now. And I am taking at least a week of rest before I try and hurt myself again. read more

I have been to Crossings several times over the past 2-3 years and had mixed experience. The reception area is pleasant, although the receptionist (there have been 2-3 in this time I think) is quite indifferent. I have seen Gillian Powers, acupuncturist, a few times and found her to be lovely and effective. She is very intuitive and asks great questions getting a thorough idea of what is going on before proceeding. She gives feedback during the session and a full debrief at the end that is helpful in understanding what has occurred and great advice in follow-up, including on nutrition. I have experienced instant relief of symptoms for one issue and support for longer-term issues. She charges a fair and reasonable rate. All in all a great experience and highly recommend. Unfortunately I had a bad experience with Christina Steele, who came highly recommended. I was a little daunted by the high $270 first visit fee and wait time of several weeks to see her, but I felt desperate regarding my symptoms so felt it might be worth it. My first appointment was postponed due to her illness so I had another few weeks wait. On finally meeting her I found her to be friendly and kind with thorough questions. A student was also present, which I wasn't forewarned of ahead of time, although she did ask if it was ok when I first started the session. During the session she spoke about me and what she was finding to the student, which was to be expected, though a little unsettling. The session felt quite powerful and she seemed skilled. At the end she suggested that she leave me to relax longer and she could debrief afterwards via email, and she said she would leave her email address at reception, which she did. When I was ready to go I noted that I had had one hour and ten minutes treatment overall, with the more expensive rate meant for an initial one hour and a half session. I was asked to pay the full amount. I followed up via email as requested, keen to get feedback and suggested ongoing advice as I was dealing with a chronic issue. I initially got no response whatsoever, so I followed up by email once again. Finally I got some response, which was essentially, sorry, don't understand what you're asking for. I tried again, simply wanting a debrief on what she experienced in the session, what she thought was going on with me and suggestions for future treatment. She still didn't understand what I was asking for, not even sure she remembered me. She did however offer a refund as I was clearly unhappy with the service. I appreciated this, and in turn said I would be happy with refund for half the service, as that is what I felt I received. More time went by and I followed up. She said a check had been sent to me, which I hadn't received. Then she confirmed the check hadn't been cashed, which I knew because I never received it. Then she said she would prefer to leave it for me at reception, which I said would be fine. She never confirmed back with me and hasn't responded since. I was very surprised by the whole experience. I have seen holistic practitioners of various disciplines over the past 25+ years in four different countries and never experienced such treatment. It is, as far as I can tell, usual practice to give feedback, advice and ideas on ongoing treatment and is part of what one should expect in a full session, especially one so expensive. It has left a very sour taste in my mouth and I would never recommend for anyone to visit this practitioner - too much for too little. read more
