My family was referred to Dr. Hamilton for specialist services by our regular vet after our cat was diagnosed with cancer. He has a rotating schedule visiting numerous veterinary practices in the area, so you can select to meet him where it is most convenient. He was open about the fact that the hosting veterinary practice sets his rates and that they vary. We appreciated this information, and were able to go to a different veterinary office that was still close by, but offered the same services for a lower (yet still high) price. From the beginning, Dr. Hamilton was upfront about our cat's prognosis to aid in the decision to seek treatment. Then he regularly assessed progress to help determine whether the treatment was working and it was worthwhile to continue. While I was only present for one of my cat's appointments, I was incredibly impressed with Dr. Hamilton's bedside manner. He offered a range of options for both cancer treatment and supportive care, thoroughly explained each option and what it would mean, and was incredibly supportive in helping our family make the right decision for us with a situation that we clearly weren't handling well. In addition to coming across as incredibly intelligent, he has the right personality and calm demeanor for what must be a difficult job.
