Pick up was a breeze; every employee we encountered was friendly and professional. My cats were only there overnight, but they were basically unruffled, although happy to be home. When we picked Zelda up after her most recent stay, she was in the worst condition we've ever seen. She smelled terrible, her coat was severely matted from head to tail, and she had developed two skin infections that required a veterinary visit immediately after we brought her home. Because of the condition of her skin, she couldn't even be properly groomed right away. Instead, we spent hours bathing her ourselves and carefully cutting mats out of what had once been her beautiful coat. We were also concerned about the communication regarding an injury she sustained while boarding. It was only after we specifically asked for her report card that we were told she had a "small cut" on her elbow. What we found was an open wound with pus, which was much more serious than we had been led to believe. We would have appreciated being notified immediately rather than learning about it only because we asked. We understand that accidents and medical issues can happen in any boarding environment. However, we expected Zelda to be monitored, cared for, and communicated about appropriately--especially considering the cost of the boarding services. Unfortunately, her condition when she came home did not reflect the level of care we had come to expect from Janry. We sincerely hope this was an isolated incident because we've had good experiences there in the past. However, based on this stay, we cannot confidently recommend Janry Pet Resort until we know changes have been made to ensure pets receive the care, grooming, monitoring, and communication their owners expect.
