It pains me to write this review as I have been a very VERY loyal customer to Dr Auto Repair for…read moremany years. Today, however, crossed a line for me and I am compelled to leave this feedback for others. I took my vehicle in for brake work and in usual fashion, the shop turned around the repairs quickly. My issue was with my pick up today and what transpired thereafter (resulting in being awoken from a nap to banging on my door by shop workers). Context and back story here is I am in the IT industry and had a late night software deployment last night. I dropped my kids off this morning at day care (my wife has been out of town at this point on travel for a few weeks, so i am extra tired) and then made my way via uber over to the shop to pick up my vehicle. Upon arriving (I was paying by cash), I told the shop who i was, what vehicle i was picking up - and was told the bill was already taken care of, and that I was all set and good to go. Now here's the key detail - My truck which was serviced was boxed in, thus in order for me to get it out in the first place, another vehicle had to be moved by the shop (not by me), which they did. As I was driving home, I had a call for something pertaining to my software release from the earlier morning come up, and during that call missed a call from the shop. Upon returning home I took a nap since I had a late night of work + exhaustion from the kids. I was awoken not too long after by banging on my door (not just once, multiple times; which awoke me from an upstairs room). When I went to open my door I was confronted by shop workers, and told that I left without paying (and the way they were grilling me; on purpose). I told them I was told the bill was taken care of and good to go. I went through the details of everything that happened, and realized that there was a mix up where it was thought I was a different customer (which is fine, mistakes happen). I gladly paid immediately after there was a clarification. However, I was very very put off by the shop's tactics and intent to portray this as if I knowingly and intentionally did something wrong here. Even after explaining what happened, one of the two of the workers that came out continued to bash me as if I maliciously did this. The kicker about all of this. The work for my vehicle had not been fully completed at the time of pick up. I called back to speak with Mr. Al (who is very nice) and explained what happened and he agreed there was a misunderstanding. It was then called out to me that I needed to bring the vehicle back to complete the remaining work. I never received a receipt for the transaction, and was never apologized to by the workers that came out to gang up over the misunderstanding. I am big on loyalty and customer satisfaction, and this entire experience has soured me to this shop and/or recommending it to others in the future. All it would have taken is giving a listen with an open ear, vs assuming that I somehow moved the vehicles boxing the vehicle in myself in order to somehow move the vehicle without visiting the office for payment and get the key (which i did), then being told I was all set and good to go. I want to stress Mr. Al is a very nice man and apologized on behalf of the workers that came out, however this experience has left me upset all day given the assumption that I had ill intent after being a loyal returning customer for all of these years. UPDATE: I should add, the shop has done work for free on my vehicles before, and Vincent said the mechanic noticed something and fixed it, so 'happy birthday'. According to them I should have probably asked then who paid for that too (and you can see how I would think things were set if told the bill was taken care of). In this instance my vehicle was released to me after I told them the specific make/model (not that i was picking up a pickup truck) - The other pickup truck was completely different make/model. The accusatory nature when coming to my home and banging on my door was borderline harassment and my reaction to the entire situation would have been different if it was approached more neutral as "Hey, there was a misunderstanding we got the vehicles confused despite telling you it was paid for", not "YOU DIDN'T PAY, WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU". I started going to this shop during the pandemic SEEKING out ways to support black businesses. Never in a million years would I have thought the business would treat me as if I am a criminal after having been a loyal customer for many years prior to this incident and never once having any issue or experience like this. I have had 2 vehicles services here well over 10 times in total or more - yet am treated like this..

This family-founded, family-run business is a true treasure in our community! When my mother first…read morelocated this shop, she wanted a place to take her loved, older Toyota vehicle for maintenance and repairs. She had such a good experience that she recommended the shop to me for repairs on my former vehicle and, more recently, for my used car pre-purchase inspection. Right from the start, the staff made me feel at home and made recommendations to guide me to find the perfect vehicle for me. I also learned that some special dealerships offer either "pre-purchase inspection off-site" or "3-day money back guarantees" virtually eliminating "buyer's remorse." So I focused my search on dealerships with either of these two options in order that A. Anthony's was essentially a "co-pilot" in my car search. A huge shoutout to Genette! She was amazing, walking me through the used car purchase process, giving the vehicle a thorough inspection, and explaining all the next steps. Her attention to detail and patience with all my questions made me feel totally confident in my purchase, and I am extremely happy with my used car purchase. They truly set high standards for great service and genuine care. Everyone here is super-friendly and professional, and it's clear they really care about their customers (which is smart business imo). In addition to ubiquitous brands like Toyota, Honda, Ford, they work on all brands of vehicles including luxury lines Mercedes, Audi, Buick, Lexus, and more. If you need auto repair or are looking to buy a used car, I recommend you consider building a long-term relationship with them.

Great service and quality at Marlboro Tire and Automotive!…read more I needed to get my tires repaired/replaced and found this that this shop was just a few minutes from my house. It was after hours, so I filled out an online drop off form and left my car and key outside the facility. Really convenient to be able to drop the car off during non business hours so that service can begin bright and early the next day. The next day, the staff called me with more information about my issue and a recommended set of repairs. I appreciate the honest advice and information that Christine provided, she helped me make a couple of decisions about the work to be completed to the car. The shop was able to order the parts I needed and install them within 2 days - appreciate the pretty quick service. The prices are fair and the staff was really friendly and helpful - would definitely bring my car here again for a service if needed. No wonder they've been in business for 30+ years.

I recently had service done at Marlboro Tire and Automotive twice. My first experience was good…read more During the last week of April they replaced the starter on my 2021 Kia Telluride, and everything seemed fine at the time. However, when I picked the vehicle up, I noticed an issue with my parking sensor that had never happened prior to the service. I made another appointment to have that checked out along with several other issues I already knew needed attention -- a wheel bearing, a check engine light, and a transmission issue. I dropped the car off on Sunday, May 17th. They called me Monday and explained that the parking sensor issue was unrelated to the starter replacement, which I accepted. They also said the transmission issue would need to be handled by the dealership. The check engine light turned out to be caused by the evap vent valve being disconnected from the evap canister, and they reconnected it. Total cost was $160. I stopped by a little after 3 PM to pay and pick up the keys, but told them I would return later that evening to actually take the vehicle home. When I came back at 9:55 PM, the first thing I noticed was that the vehicle was unlocked because the mirrors were folded out. On my Telluride, the mirrors automatically fold in when the car is locked. When I opened the door, the dashboard was lit up and the radio was on. Once I sat down, I realized the vehicle was actually still running. My car's drive information automatically resets if the vehicle has been off for four hours. The dash showed the vehicle had been running for 9 hours and 30 minutes, had been driven 16.7 miles, and was averaging 4.5 MPG. I took a picture at 9:58 PM. Honestly, I wasn't even angry at first -- I was more shocked than anything and was actually laughing about it when I told my wife. Mistakes happen. The problem came the next morning when I returned to let them know what happened and showed them the picture. Instead of acknowledging the mistake, they immediately denied it and insisted there must have been some kind of malfunction because they "could not have made that mistake." I initially spoke with the two women behind the counter, but then a man came out from the office and asked what I wanted. I told him I felt they should at least refund the $160 service charge or compensate me for the gas burned while my car sat idling all day. He refused both. We went back and forth for several minutes. I explained that up until that moment I had actually been happy with their service and thought I had found a repair shop I could continue using. I told him the issue wasn't the mistake itself -- it was the refusal to take responsibility for it. I also explained that if he had simply apologized and made some effort to make it right, I probably would have laughed about it later and continued bringing my vehicle there. Instead, I was treated as if I was making the whole thing up despite having photographic evidence. When I told him that my only remaining option was to leave an honest review online about my experience, he accused me of threatening him. I told him it wasn't a threat -- I simply intended to describe exactly what happened. To make matters even more frustrating, when I later attempted to leave a review on their website, I was required to enter my invoice number, last name, first name, invoice total, and service date to verify my visit. After entering all of the correct information directly from my invoice, I received an error message saying the information did not match their system records. I can't say for certain what caused that, but it certainly gave the impression that I was being prevented from leaving a review through their website. Again, mistakes happen. What matters is how a business responds when they do. Unfortunately, their response completely changed my opinion of this shop.
