Fire pit

Second time staying at this warm, welcoming inn. We were here 5 years ago, the innkeeper Gwen is still running this well oiled enterprise. She runs a good ship. This is a super clean and upkept facility. The room rocked, with everything needed. The breakfast was superb. The staff was super. The lobby is spacious with numerous comfortable spots for sitting. The front porch is also a great sitting spot. Two outdoor fire pits were nice areas for nighttime socializing. And there is plenty of available parking. We loved this place when we were before, and we loved it just as much on this visit. We give it a top rating and definitely recommend this special find.

Gorgeous modern yet classic newly renovated property. Beautiful & well thought out interior design. Take a tour if your in the area. Meticulously managed yet not heavy handed. I felt I didn't see staff buzzing about unless I had a question or a desire and yet, here they were. I felt safe, relaxed and very much at home. Very comfortable beds, soft linens, better toiletries, Apple TV, Apple iPhone iPad docs to play music, discrete mini fridge, heavy drapes, Love the wrap around porch which was perfect for crudités and wine. *very noisy AC unit in room 121.

It's a beautifully restored hotel from the Lark group. Amazing history (dates back to the late 1800s) and Edna St. Vincent Millay was "discovered" there. Beautiful grounds, rocking chairs on the porch, great places to just hang out in the lobby. All done with a great sense of style. No restaurant but-- There's a bar for guests open til 10, free coffee/tea all day, free breakfast (scones or croissants, quiche bites, oatmeal, fruit, yogurt, granola), comfortable rooms. 10-minute walk to town through a beautiful neighborhood. The staff are friendly, responsive and welcoming. Couldn't recommend this place more!

Loooooved this hotel. Great decor. Tasty fresh baked treats every day at the front desk. One of the best burgers I've ever had!

They welcomed us to the Inn, gave us a tour and some fresh baked cookies. When we came downstairs in the morning Lauren had set out coffee and fresh baked crumpets. For breakfast she served overnight oats with chia seeds and blueberry compote followed by a tomato artichoke frittata and salad. Everything was excellent! Since we are avid hikers Greg recommended the Mount Battie trail which is within walking distance from the hotel. As we were heading off for our hike, Lauren provided us with more fresh baked cookies still warm from the oven. Greg and Lauren made us feel right at home as did their son Elliott. Elliott has a true entrepreneurial spirit and is very knowledgeable about the Inn and the area despite his young age. It was a pleasure staying here.

Do you want a delicious two course breakfast each morning (included in your stay) cooked according to your dietary needs? Do you want homemade cookies or brownie at the end of the day packaged and prepared just for you? Do you want to walk a couple of blocks to the charming downtown and waterfront of Camden? If so, make the reservation now! The Blue Harbor House is charming, romantic, and well maintained. My wife and I stayed here four nights recently and used this location to not only spend time in Camden, but to visit other nearby towns like Rockland, Bath, Brunswick, Rockport, and Belfast. Don't forget to visit the Cellar Door Winery in neighboring Lincolnville. Everything worked in our Snug Harbor Suite to perfection. Housekeeping did a great job each morning cleaning and replacing whatever was needed. The innkeepers, Matt and Michelle are warm and some of the nicest people you will ever meet. From the moment we booked our reservation, they began making us part of their family. Just talking to them and some of the other guests about life was relaxing and therapeutic. The price here is very reasonable and worth every penny. There is plenty of parking in their private parking lot. As I said earlier, there is no need to look any further.

Our three-night stay in the Grace Bailey Suite at the Captain Swift Inn was one of the highlights…read moreof our trip to Maine. The suite was spacious, extremely clean, and featured an amazing shower and an incredibly comfortable bed. We also happened to be visiting during an unusual heat wave, and the air conditioning did an impressive job--which was no small feat given the suite's two-story layout and high ceilings. Coming back to a cool, comfortable room each afternoon and evening was something we appreciated even more than we expected. The breakfasts each morning tasted every bit as good as they looked and kept us full until dinnertime! My husband was running late our first morning (we struggled to adjust from West Coast time), and Matt and Jessica kindly prepared an off-menu breakfast sandwich for him to enjoy later (which was fantastic, by the way). Admittedly, we weren't the most punctual breakfast guests during our stay, yet they couldn't have been more gracious about it. That level of flexibility and kindness certainly did not go unnoticed. Speaking of the innkeepers, I was impressed by how they managed to strike the perfect balance of being warm and welcoming without ever being over the top. They seemed to take their cue from each guest, happily engaging in conversation when invited while also giving everyone plenty of space to enjoy their stay. In my opinion, that can be one of the trickiest parts of staying at a bed-and-breakfast, but Matt and Jessica absolutely nailed it. The inn itself is beautifully maintained, with thoughtful details throughout that make it feel welcoming and special without being stuffy or pretentious. I kept thinking of it as "understated pampering". The location is also ideal--an easy walk to Camden Harbor, shops, and restaurants, while serving as a perfect home base for exploring the many beautiful destinations within an hour's drive. It's clear that Matt and Jessica genuinely care about creating an exceptional experience for their guests. We left feeling relaxed, well cared for, and hoping we might find a reason to return in the future. We highly recommend the Captain Swift Inn!

We went up for our 5th wedding anniversary and Jeff had asked what our wedding song was and he put it on the radio while we were having breakfast. I almost cried.
