DANG, Chris T, I wanted to be the first to review Polebridge Hostel! This place rocks…read more This is a hostel in the true tradition. Its rustic, welcoming and peaceful; the scenery is wonderful. Its a great place to rest after exploring Glacier Natl. Park. I've stayed here a few times, twice by myself and once with my mom who loved it! Its worth the seemingly never-ending drive over the gravel washboard road to get there. Once on my drive there, I came upon a bear sitting in the middle of the road, and just drove slowly around it, hoping it didn't want to come sit on my little car. I stayed in the main hostel lodge, and as we first walked in, I remember being charmed by the fireplace. As twilight approached, it was recommended we go to the restroom - outside and a short walk - in the light. I'm not going to spoil it for you, but the outhouse is one of the best features of the place. Back in the lodge, there were lamps to be lit, and i had a bath in a huge claw-foot tub. We watched a short movie (generator?) and hit the hay. We sat in the kitchen in the morning and chatted with other hostelers. Cozy, comfy, and I felt like I was in a gold miner's lodge at the turn of the century. Be advised, this hostel is rustic but its one of my favorite hostels I've had the privilege of staying. If you can't handle an outhouse or bears, wolverines, swooping eagles, no electricity and log cabins, think twice and find a motel away from the stillness of the woods. But if you miss it, you've missed great fun and an experience you will always remember.

I stayed here eons ago. It was a perfect quiet rustic place in the early 1990s. I am so glad it…read moreis still a hostel!

Luckily, it was a clean and simple room. The building itself reminded me of church camp - the room didn't have bunkbeds but it wouldn't be surprising if they did ;) The location neighboring the fancier skiing resorts (walking distance) was lovely for the views, trails and mini stores. Unfortunately, the thing that didn't make us love C'mon Inn was the lack of COVID safety precautions. The staff was half-heartedly wearing masks (some did / some did not), and none of the other guests we encountered were wearing masks. We thoroughly sanitized our own room but it didn't feel that this was a top priority for this hotel as it wasn't communicated. Overall, it got the job done but it's too bad they aren't taking the pandemic more seriously for their guests' safety.

People are friendly, the atmosphere seems to encourage conversations and friendliness. Staff are very helpful and know about the area. Rebecca encouraged us to try cross country skiing. Cross country ski trails are accessible from the lower lodge. Almost forgot the hot tub! Good to soak the sore muscles at the end of the day.

Extremely beautiful hotel -- from the outside and inside the lobby. The lobby boasts a huge…read morefireplace, helping the large room seem luxurious. However. The carpeting in the stairwell is tattered and dirty. Literally a small pile of dirt on one side of one of the stairs, with the remainder spilling onto the other stairs. I understand people come here to do outdoorsy things, but some upkeep should be still be required. The room or "suite" while large, was oddly shaped and the TV, on the other side of the room, far away from the bed, was extremely small. I think there are better hotel options in Kalispell.

Additionally, I got profiled by a guy named Scott in the lobby which was such an awkward and unpleasant experience. I went out to eat and come back to the hotel with left overs, asked the front desk person, who had checked me in, for a recommendation and walked up to my room to drop off my food. After calling an uber I walked back down to the lobby at which point Scott approached me and started hassling me about if I was staying at the hotel. I've travelled for work for about 8 years now and have never felt so unwelcome or accosted in a hotel before. Horribly unprofessional and a terrible experience. After a productive conversation with manager this morning, I feel better about my experience. Mistakes do happen but it is refreshing and important to have seen management take an interest and reach out to me about the experience. Thank you very much for your time Lacey

The trout fish dip was heavy on the cream cheese. Black bean burger was yum and the tomato jam that comes with the Warm Bread is delicious. They had one of the best gift shops I've seen during this Montana trip and picked up a bunch of stuff for my loved ones at home. The main lounge has lots of wooden furniture and a big beautiful fireplace. My husband enjoyed playing horseshoe out back and I got my mother in law to play the 1890s piano! Good place to reset with internet service and snacks before you head on back for your nature day.

But then I learned it's the original grand lodge built by the Great Northern Railway, full of history! In terms of location, it worked perfectly for one night of our trip. It's very convenient for the Two Medicine area of the park. But I wouldn't recommend it as a base for a long visit, it's almost an hour drive to the St Mary visitor center. I'm pretty surprised by the negative reviews here. We stayed in a Main Lodge Value room and found everything clean and comfortable. Nothing fancy, but everything I expected in the room. And the lobby and common areas were outstanding. There are a ton of great places to sit, the big logs are really impressive, and the grounds are terrific, with flowers, horseshoes, and even a small (lumpy) soccer field. Everyone we encountered were friendly and hardworking. Most surprising are complaints about tiny showers: ours had a neat large clawfoot bathtub with good fixture & curtains to shower. So I guess that isn't a common feature, but it's not like we had a super deluxe room.
