My mom and I stopped in for a nice dinner on Friday night. The main dining area was closed but the bar area was open. Whitecaps is open for breakfast from 6AM - 10AM and then reopens in the evening from 5PM - 10PM. While we would have preferred to sit in the dining area, because the booths and chairs are more comfortable to us than the high bar stools, we sat at the bar. There were a few tables in the bar area but they were occupied by other patrons when we arrived around 8PM. The bartender and main waitress were very friendly. I ordered a Mai Tai, made with bacardi silver, amaretto, orange juice, pineapple juice, and grenadine. I wasn't a huge fan; it was pretty strong and if you enjoy strong citrus flavors they you would enjoy this. The orange juice was a little more tart for my liking as I prefer sweet, fruity drinks. My mother's drink was absolutely delicious. She ordered a strawberry lemonade, made with blooms london gin, strawberry syrup, fresh basil, lemonade, and a splash of club soda. I highly recommend this drink. The gin added a nice pine flavor that complimented the strawberry and basil nicely. For our entrees I ordered the classic caesar salad with a side of french fries and my mom had the teriyaki beef skewers, served with a side of slaw consisting of grilled pineapples, jicama, and napa cabbage. I will say, despite the fact that the bar area was not packed and had started to clear out the longer we were there, our food did take a little bit to come out. The salad was good, which it should've been since it's hard to mess up a caesar salad. The dressing was flavorful and the grated cheese to crouton ratio was perfect. The fries were hot and already salted, served with a small container of ketchup. They came out at the same time as my salad. My mom really enjoyed the slaw that was served with her skewers, however she said that the skewers were chewy and slightly overdone. She said that the flavor of the meat was excellent and there was a tiny hint of spice, however the meat was not tender enough for her. The skewers were more well done than medium or medium well. She rated her meal a 3.5 out of 5. For a Friday night, the bar got a decent amount of service but was not overwhelming or overcrowded. For a bar, I thought that the menu was incredibly diverse with many different flavor profiles. Although we didn't order them, another guest ordered the california fish tacos and they looked delicious. With this being a hotel, I expected the restaurant prices to be inflated, however I would not classify this as a happy hour. The prices are too high, there weren't any deals on alcohol as the cocktails were full priced, and the food options were simply entrees instead of finger foods. Whitecaps doesn't have a separate happy hour menu that differs from their regular menu. If you're in the Brisbane area and want to stop in for a quick drink at the bar then I would suggest Whitecaps, however if you're looking for a traditional happy hour, I wouldn't.

Chicken Medallions with roasted potatoes and sautéed vegetables in lemon butter sauce.

I had the Chicken Medallions that comes over a bed of sautéed vegetables & roasted potatoes. In addition it's served in this lemon butter sauce that you will want to drink. It was great. I am deducting a star because of price. I know it's in a hotel but it would taste even better if it was just a little cheaper. If you are looking for a well balance meal that has a protein, starch & veggie; here it is.

Nice hotel bar at the doubletree Hilton. We had a great bartender, Enrique. We started with cocktails which were well made. Because we arrived and were still on east coast time, we just wanted a quick bite to eat. Bf got the burger and fries. I had the Turkey panini and side salad. Both were good choices!!! Nice choice for quick food before zzzzz.

One Saturday, I was organizing an event at Genentech and realized that at least 20 people would be going out to lunch with us afterwards. I wanted to research and be prepared with some sort of reservation. WhiteCaps was the only decent option that was open in the area, so I called to ask about reserving a table for 20 people. The guy who picked up was super sweet and assured me that they would have plenty of room. Once the event was over, we drove to the San Francisco Airport DoubleTree, which is where WhiteCaps is located. It's in the middle of a deserted area, though the view of the water is gorgeous. It was quite difficult to find parking because of other hotel guests and event attendees. I assumed that the view of the water from inside the restaurant was beautiful, but we couldn't see from where we were sitting, even though it was against the glass wall. Service was so-so, and the food prices were high, as expected from most hotel restaurants. I ordered their Shrimp and Citrus Salad which had greens, fennel, oranges, almonds, and citrus honey dressing. It was okay. Not filling at all. I still wanted more after this tiny salad but decided I would wait until I got home. I'm not compelled to come back again, though almost everyone else seemed happy, so I was satisfied with my selection and organization, and that's all that matters to me about this place.

This is BY FAR THE WORST HOTEL BAR I've ever been too and I've been to hotel bars all over the United States. First night we were here we had some complimentary drinks offered by the hotel. And when we went I ordered a strawberry mojito, simple enough. The waiter came back 3 times to ask again what I wanted and each time it was the same thing, a strawberry mojito. When it finally arrived it definitely wasen't a strawberry mojito. So I told the person and he at first tried to explain it off that its a strawberry mojito. When I said no it wasen't he then went to the bartender blaming the bartender for the error. Instead of making a new drink he just pumped some strawberry syrup into the existing drink and brought it back!!! I was done after that, got up and just left. So because of other hotel room mixups, they gave each of us (5 in total) a free drink and a free appetizer and a nonalcoholic drink. So we came back to redeem our free drinks/food. We first made sure it was a different bartender because the first one was absolutely terrible. And it wasen't so we decided to avail ourselves of the free drinks and food. I first ordered a peach tea and then some hot wings which were highly recommended by the staff there. Food took over 45 minutes to come out!!! And all we ordered was hot wings!!! There were 6 wings only, and it took SO LONG to come out. Don't know if they had to go and find a chicken, then butcher it, bleed it, defeather it and then cook it up. But it was just rediculous! Wings were drowned in a lot of hot sauce. Leaving the wing just tasting spicy and not in a good way either. Just in your face hot!! Only able to finish 2 of them before my acid reflux started acting up. Also ordered a strawberry lemonade (alcoholic of course). Drinks were good, heavy handed on the liquor. But man!!! Over 45 minutes for an appetizer. That was unacceptable. Bartender who also worked as the waiter had a good 20 people he was serving, and there were some tables he never even came around to. And they just ended up leaving. If it wasen't for the sole fact that the meal was going to be free I was going to just leave as well. Adjectives that come up to mind as I'm finishing up my 2nd drink in the hotel room is slow, incompetent, subpar, weak, terrible, mind numbing, and frustrating. At first we were talking about eating here and watching the early football games on sunday before the Broncos game. But after the past 2 experiences I WILL NOT be coming back, ever!!!

Decided to give a try to this restaurant which is inside the Double Tree Hotel during our 3 day stay in San Francisco. We ordered the famous fried calamari based of reviews, the chicken wings and the whiteCap burger. The calamari was really salty, the wings were cooked good but the sauce lacked flavor, and the burger was cocked well but had some extra flavors going on that detracted from it, however the fries were good.

Not too shabby for a hotel bar. Reasonable price for food and drinks. Server Dez was also very nice and professional. He was nice enough to turn up the volume for us to enjoy the warrior game. We got HH grapefruit mule for $9 and all their beers were $7. Buffalo wings and fries was standard but didn't disappoint. I'd recommend this spot if ur in the area and killing time

Kids meal chicken tenders $9, buffalo wings happy hour $8
    Yonnie C.

Stayed at the DoubleTree for 2 nights, grabbed a quick meal of chicken tenders (kids meal at $9) and buffalo wings (happy hour price of $8). Both items were ok tasting but filling. Only bartender available on site to take your order at 430-530pm on Saturday.

I came in good faith to support a Black-owned business during the 49ers game with my family and community. Unfortunately, before my family arrived, I was treated dismissively. Basic questions about wine pricing were avoided, pricing was inconsistent between servers, and transparency was lacking. Food quality and portions were also inconsistent compared to others at my own table ordering the same items. What saddened me most was the noticeable shift in attitude once my Samoan family arrived. Service suddenly became attentive and respectful. No customer should ever feel that respect is conditional. I returned the following day to address this privately and respectfully. The owner chose not to speak with me and instead directed employees to handle the matter. That was deeply disappointing. I advocate for unity in our community. We are a thriving but still underserved area, facing real disparities and in need of resources and opportunity. Businesses operating here should uplift people, not dismiss them--especially those they do not know. This experience left me feeling sad, not angry. Sad that in a community that needs healing and solidarity, discrimination and lack of class still show up in spaces meant to bring people together.
