Wonderful hotel in Malahide! Definitely will be coming back next time I visit my family in Ireland…read more The hotel is recently renovated and all of the shared spaces such as lobby, restaurant, bar, all were meticulously decorated to make people feel warm and at home. The service was outstanding including Cian, Cormac and Karl in the bar. The rooms are nicely sized, extremely clean and top notch amenities. When there is Elemis products in the bathroom and a Dyson hairdryer to use after your shower, anyone will feel like royalty. I loved this place and can't wait to come back!

BEWARE when booking this hotel through their website. Contrary to what their FAQ says about their…read morecancellation policy (see picture), their actual cancellation policy is hidden behind the "info" icon next to the room classification's title. Typically hotels openly include their policies regarding refunds and cancellation in a room classification's title (e.g. "Premium Double Room (Non-Refundable)") and/or an active link titled "Cancellation Policy" is included. As of the posting of this review, the Grand Hotel in Malahide does neither. We were unfortunately unaware that the cancellation policy for the room we booked was hidden behind the "info" icon and in direct conflict with the hotel's FAQ. Hopefully it won't matter and our trip will go as planned, but if something disrupts our plans our only recourse appears to be to reschedule for another time. I suggested the hotel's web master update their website to make their specific cancellation policies more clear, visible and obvious. Whether they do that or not, you at least now know that clicking on the ubiquitous "info" icon next to a room classification's title is going to reveal more significant details than the brand of shampoo you'll find in their showers.

While departing the hotel, we were able to take the shuttle. The rooms were undergoing refurbishment. Our rooms for our two stays were quite different. The first night, the hallway floor was covered in plastic. There was a random chair sitting between our room and the room next door. The room was ok overall, but did need an update. A week later, we stayed on the same floor but different room. There was no longer any plastic in the hallway. The room smelled new and looked more modern. Overall, I would say it's a good place to stay if you're looking to be close to the airport.

This place is pretty nice actually. If you are staying by the Dublin Airport, it's pretty much the…read morebest option. And way better than the Maldron which is pretty much aweful. We stayed here after our United flight was cancelled multiple days in a row due to an engine failure. While it's 10-15 minutes from the airport and not in walking distance like a few hotels like the Maldron, it's worth that inconvenience imo. Rooms were modern and clean. Room had a good amount of space the delayed airline dinner and breakfast was decent. Let me elaborate, the dinner was ok. The deserts were solid but the main course was meh. Edible, but fairly bland. Again - way better than the Maldron. Breakfast was solid. Very much a typical Irish breakfast. Good assortment of fresh breads and yogurts along with a few meats. Highly recommend. Staff was awesome and accommodating. Even had a kid friendly dinner option ( chicken fingers and chips) for the kids.

Came across this, unusually named, place while out on a walk on a rainy evening. I will admit the…read morename made me want to see the inside but I was also looking for food and the menu outside said they had chicken wings, so in I went. Why they called it The Bram Stoker I have no idea, once you stepped inside there was nothing to do with Bram to be seen. Anyway, the batman, who I would think was the owner, was very friendly and I ordered a beer. But when I asked about ordering the chicken wings he said he would get some one to come down to me. As it turns out there is a restaurant, called Indigo, down the back of the pub and they cover all the food orders for the pub. It took quite a few mins before she appeared, though she was very friendly. The 'large buffalo wings' left a lot to be desired, they were not large by any sense of the word. I went with the BBQ sauce as she informed me, when I asked, that 'Franks sauce' contained Tabasco. They were alright but they weren't going to fill me up for the night. Before the waitress had come down to me I had asked the barman if he had any newspaper I could read. He said he was sorry he didn't but offered me a tourism magazine he had at the end of the bar. (it was in pristine condition and I would say had only been open a few times) After news, tourism would be my next best read in a pub... And I always like to know what Bord Failte are spewing to the tourists, what crap is m***pages.ie? :p Anyway I digress, finished the food and tried looking for the bill, going to the bar as I couldn't see the young lady, and was informed she would be sent down.... Another few minutes later. All in all the pub and barman were very nice and welcoming, the food delivery situation - and the food itself - leave a bit to be desired. Come in here for a quite pint if you are tired walking along the Coast Rd path..... You can't miss the big sign.

We stayed here one night before leaving Dublin. The Bram Stoker theming is kind of cheesy and only…read moreamounts to a handful of Dracula prints in a back hallway. The rooms are very basic - no luxury here, no sir. Hard mattresses, 80's furniture. The afternoon we checked in, a dog in the neighbor's yard (the rooms face a row of residential back yards) barked nonstop for two hours when we were trying to take a nap. The staff seemed baffled when we told them, and not particularly helpful. The staff is the hotel's main weakness. There was a very unfriendly woman waiting tables when we went down to the restaurant and our waiter was an absolute snot. He made it more than clear, waiting on us was a big hassle for him. The reason I give the hotel a three is they have a beautiful, inviting restaurant and a surprisingly great craft beer selection. If they can upgrade the rooms to match the restaurant and fire the rude staff, they might have something.
