We went out side and in an area that was freshly dug by the contractor, water was bubbling to the surface. We spent 8 hours and $300 to fix it and immediately contacted our realtor. We now know why the water was turned off during our final walk thru and why there was a freshly dug area in the back yard. Roots had broken the pipe; the contractor knew this, but chose not to fix it. We asked to be reimbursed for the materials by the contractor (Preston Webb), and he offered $200. We asked for $300 again,fully believing that is beyond reasonable. He withdrew his offer and told us that he is contacting his lawyer.
