There was not very many people at the restaurant on a Tuesday. Not very many restaurants open in Camden on a Tuesday. The host/server was very nice and did her best. She was on her A game. Everyone at our table liked their food. They had the Reuben, whitehouse burger, old fashioned burger, onion rings, enchiladas, I had the nachos which was huge. I enjoyed the nachos. They weren't bad at all. We didn't get any desert but the server/host said the blackberry cobbler was really good. I will try it next time. I like the old school decor and photos from the 50's and 60's when Camden was a bussling town. I would go back just because they were so nice. Be patient. read more

I had the White House burger cooked to order and it was very good, a little under seasoned but cooked perfectly. Fries and rings were decent. I think this is the oldest or at least top five oldest cafes in Arkansas. So a nice little piece of history to boot. Good service. read more

Food is down home. And the atmosphere? It's great if you like a Hole-in-the-wall 50's diner- literally 50 years old that's stood the test of time... LIKE I DO. I feel like we found the town treasure. I went to White House Cafe on a Saturday evening. I chose to sit in the restaurant side and received excellent service. I asked what was good and was told they were known for their steaks and burgers. I went with a steak and sides and was not disappointed. Because most restaurants are closed Sunday, I also got an enchilada plate to go and from the looks of it, I can't wait until tomorrow. read more

I'm here for business I'm working in the area Ive came here everyday so far on my lunch break and just tonight i came back for dinner after work and there was a man siting in there the owner instantly recognized the man it was David Bazzel so I got to meet him too. It's pricey but probably one of the best hamburgers & fries I've ever had. Still thinking about it and wished I had one right now. The hamburger & fries are big. My Mom and I could have halved the order but it was so good I tried to eat all of mine. We were traveling to a basketball game so we had to eat on the go!!! Shout out to the downstairs waitress. She has the best attitude and gives great service. Always a smile on her face. I have to compliment the chef here also. Came early on a Saturday night and ordered the 6 oz ribeye steak medium rare with a baked sweet potato and vegetable melody. The meal was great. Steak so tender and veggies seasoned just right. And that was the best biggest baked sweet potato I'd ever had. Enjoyed the cinnamon butter that came on the side with it too. The hubs had a grilled chicken salad and as always it was excellent. I have to stop by every time I come home. I always order the White House Burger with cheese and bacon!! It's cooked on a charbroiled grill which makes it delicious. I forgot to take a picture. We ordered the Texas Toothpicks as an appetizer ( deep fried onions and jalapeños) amazing!!!! They provide a sweet butter to dip the sweet potato fries in and it's delicious as well! If I could give a .5 I would. This was the worst experience I have ever had in a restaurant. It was like I was stuck in an episode of Resturant Impossible. This Resturant was recommended to us by some people at a class we were taking. We (the four of us) look it up and go. We get there and it is a quaint bar/Resturant that looks like it was remodeled from a previous old business. When we walked in, there was no reception area or hostess booth or anything. It was just immediately a bar within like 2 feet of the door. We weren't sure where to sit or if we should sit ourselves. Some random patron took pity on our puzzled expression and told us we could sit anywhere in the adjourning three rooms. We sat ourselves in the next room and looked at the menu, which was an eclectic mix of many different food types. I ordered the famous red salsa and chips for an appetizer. I also ordered the beef fajitas, my friends ordered the ribeye cooked medium rare with Irish nachos and baked potato, the cheeseburger and fries, and tacos. The chips and salsa did not come out until our meals did which upset me bc I was like quite hungry. It was also very bland. The burger and tacos were decent but the fajitas was horrible and chewy. The beans were crusty on the edges like they had been microwaved. The rice had cheese on them and tasted pretty old. The guacamole was brown. The friend that had the ribeye had it the worst though. She had a cold steak and had to send it back. The waitress touched the steak and complained very loudly that it was supposed to be warm bc it was rare. When she brought the steak back after they microwaved it and we accused her of touching the steak she admitted to it and walked away. She then came back and said that she had touched the plate underneath it. We later found out that she was the owner and had talked very badly about us when we left. The final complaint I have is the margaritas we paid $7 for was just sweet and sour. It was pretty bad. I am so deeply disappointed, normally I love mom and pop places but this was just not to par. read more

My mom and aunt have eaten here before and said it was really good, so they brought me this time. First impressions - the place looks cozy and inviting. It looks like an old diner upon walking in, other side looks like someone's old house. Despite being so hot outside, it's pretty chilly inside. I got chills. The waitress was not very helpful. In fact, she was quite blunt and just very short with us. She kept up with our drinks ok though, so I won't say she was completely bad. She dropped some food in my lap upon delivering my aunt her taco salad, though. The waiting time for the food was an decent wait. About 15 minutes. I ordered a simple cheeseburger with fries, and a tamale for "dessert" because I love tamales. The burger was delicious, the fries were crisp and perfectly salted, the hot water cornbread was delicious with a spread of butter. The food was good. The tamale, however, was not that great. Their tamales are made at the restaurant and are made from pork and normally come slathered in cheese or chile sauce or onions. I just wanted a plain tamale. It tasted like you could buy something from Walmart better. Very disappointing on that end. My mother ordered the fried chicken salad. Apparently the lettuce tasted old, and the chicken was very dry. My aunt ordered the taco salad, which she said was very moist and good. Keep in mind, the prices for steaks or anything like salmon or even grilled chicken is a big jump in prices on the menu. The burger was about $9, while the other things I mentioned priced from $15-$27. read more

We asked and she said it was because the price of beef was up?? The steak was not a filet either. So much gristle you could not cut with a knife. Cute place with friendly staff. Several eating areas to accommodate your party size or taste. Diner bar is non smoking, separate bar has smoking. Parking areas are a bit sketchy, but otherwise fine. Never again will I be forced to go eat in this place!! It's just not worth it. I suggest eating at What's Cookin down the street! We have eaten there (two people, about $30-$35) there many times, and it's a good atmosphere, great food, and you won't walk out missing an arm and a leg. I absolutely did not want to come to this place to eat.......the person I was with wanted to eat here. Anytime I want Mexican food, I know this is not the place to get it. I go to Whats Cookin'! So I was not happy to have to go in here and sit down.......didn't have a choice - we ordered the cheese dip bc my son and I love cheese dip; as does his dad. The cheese dip bowl came out a mess.....they tried to melt it down in the microwave and it had boiled over the sides of the bowl. The consistency was not appealing, nor were the chunks of cheese that didn't melt down. We ate it bc we were hungry. The salsa was good and I think they must have stolen the other restaurant's recipe for that. I went ahead and ordered the taco salad. What I got was a bed of lettuce with 6 or 8 chips around the edge, topped with mostly beans, tomatoes, and olives. Like, WHO PUTS OLIVES ON A TACO SALAD??? It completely ruined the taste of a taco salad.......I tried pouring cheese dip on it, and couldn't get a good taste to it! I think I may have tasted (or found) 6 small pieces of chicken in the (chicken taco salad) mix. My son needed something to dip his quesadillas in so I asked for just some extra cheese dip in one of the smaller 4 oz. bowls - Teresa (I think, the owner, who was our server) brought out a large bowl of which we were charged for. Didn't ask for a large one, but that's what she brought, and she charged us for the big one......once again, it was over-boiled in the microwave with un-melted chunks of cheese in it. She was obviously by herself on our side, and couldn't handle the crowd she got all of a sudden. An owner concerned with her business should have grabbed the girl on the other side that was pretty much doing nothing, and asked for help. Our meal suffered, and we weren't hearing good things from the big table next to us either. She is killing this businesssss!!!! Lastly, might I mind you that it was three of us eating - ordered half order of quesadillas, a sweet tea, 3 bud light drafts, was charged for 2 large cheese dips, a taco salad, chips and salsa, and my spouse got something with shrimp in it - came to $70 !!!!! How in the hell does it cost $70 for 3 people to eat out???!! That's like $23 each. I drank water for god's sake!! read more

Our first trip to White House Cafe, but will certainly return if in the area. My hamburger was delicious and ranks right up there with some of the very best. Great fresh fries and the Irish nachos were very good. The banana pudding was excellent!! Also, the small sample of catfish I ate was very good. A very nice experience! Well I'm going to start this review off by saying I strongly dislike the town of Camden AR. However there is one thing in this town that makes it worth while. The White House cafe is by far the best place here they have good food, great people & cold beer! Who doesn't love all that? To make it better Kaitlin & opie are the best two employees this place has great food from the cook defiantly get an "opie burger" not on the menu. Kaitlin is one of the hardest work waitresses I've ever seen. This girl busses tables in three sections by her self, delivers all the food and makes everyone drinks.
