I've been there before, it's down honey Southern cooking. No long wait for tables. We recognized some of the customers from our last few visits there. Service was prompt, I believe they cook what's requested, when you place your order. Since I have so many food allergies, we opted bacon & eggs. Two foods that I'm not allergic to. read more

Was there 1 1/2 hours. I got my breakfast, ate it and my husband never got his. The food is always good, but the kitchen is a hot mess.

Service is great. But the food. Not so much. It's gone downhill over the years. And the kitchen looks really really nasty.

Ate here many many years ago and was good. This time, not so much. Chicken fried steak was pink inside. Hamburger steak was tiny. Pinto beans and cabbage was good. Mac n cheese was just ok. Got two pieces of pie to go. One was peach and decent size piece but the cherry was much smaller. read more

3/17/18 second time and my last waited at lunch 40 minutes chicken fried steak was ICE COLD white gravy was ICE COLD then waited 5 minute for waitress to return with my Texas Toast, told her I was leaving and would never come back since I always give a place a second chance. We tried to eat there tonight. Every table that we could have set at needed to be bussed and cleaned. We stood there for several minutes before someone acknowledged we were there and the table needed to be cleaned. If you're in Fordyce and need something that's not Pizza Hut or McDonald's, absolutely eat here. A friend and I were visiting Fordyce at lunch and stopped at Pizza Hut (neither of us wanted pizza, but options in Fordyce are seriously limited). We asked a lady in the parking lot for a suggestion... So glad we did. This is sort of a local diner that has breakfast and lunch... Definitely a locally owned, coffee-drinking, everyone knows everyone vibe. They offer a lunch special; that day it was hamburger steak or fried pork chop with a choice of veggies and bread. We opted for cheeseburgers and fries with a fried mushroom appetizer and sodas. The fried mushrooms were the frozen kind, but definitely not bad. The hamburgers were hand-patted and very homemade-ish. Just like mama makes. We were pleasantly surprised. I drive from LR to El Dorado pretty often and I'll definitely stop here again. Oh.. FYI: their debit card machine doesn't allow you to tip. So that's unfortunate, as the service was really good and I only had a dollar in cash to tip. read more

Had lunch at Red's and tried the BBQ. OMG.....the best tasting smoked meat I have EVER tasted. And, I have had all kinds of BBQ including most of the Central Arkansas establishments that have their walls covered with First Place awards at BBQ contests!! Had a taste for some good ol fried fish, which is very rare for me. Plus seeing a plate loaded with crispy golden looking fish fillets and fries helped encourage me as well. The server was eager to serve soon as we sit down and the food was out within 5 mins of ordering. Fish was amazing!!! I had to order some more. Green pickled tomatoes was something new and ok. Authentic small town cafe in downtown Fordyce with pictures of Bear Bryant on the wall. Recommend the delicious cheeseburger that has meat bigger than the bun. My husband had the chicken fried steak with brown gravy and twice baked potato that was also excellent. read more

This is a local diner and if you are ever in Fordyce, AR, probably the best place to eat. Restaurant options are very limited in this town. Anyway, I had the burger and fries. the burger was grilled perfectly. IF I'm ever back in Fordyce, I will definitely try their BBQ. read more

Great service! Super nice people and super fast with almost no wait time. However, if you aren't from here be aware. Got the plate lunch special, which was smaller portions than usually seen in plate lunches. Some of the food was cold, green beans were amazing though! Don't think I'd stop again. read more

Stopped in as we were passing thru, because, lets face it, there is NOTHING ELSE AROUND! It definitely does look better on the inside than on the outside, and the service was good. We both got the ribs, and our sides were Texas Toast, pickled tomatoes, potato salad, and baked beans. The ribs came out with nothing on them. They were very tender, but looked like they had been boiled. The BBQ sauce was on the side, and the flavor wasn't that great. I'll admit, I'm a rubbed BBQ kind of girl, and my bar for BBQ is pretty high (I've had it in Texas and Memphis, and my hometown, Alexandria, LA has a great local BBQ place). Now for the sides. Pretty sure the potato salad came from the Wal-Mart grocery store down the road. The baked beans had been doctored up a LITTLE BIT, but basically tasted like they had opened a can of Campbell's baked beans and added a little onion and ketchup. The pickled tomatoes were good. The "Texas Toast" was a slice of SLIGHTLY thicker cut plain bread that had been lightly toasted. Overall, a very forgettable dining experience. I really was hoping it was going to be one of those great little hole-in-the-walls that we occasionally are lucky enough to happen upon. read more
