My wife & I celebrated her birthday here on 6-Sep-24. We had an 8pm reservation. We showed at 7:52 & were seated around 8. The appearance & decor of the space is warm & inviting. There were 2 large tables that were incredibly loud. I asked the manager if he had a VIP area that was quiet. They did not. We ordered a bottle of Gambay 2018 (first experience with this grape, loved it), shrimp cocktail, porterhouse, mushrooms, & asparagus. Our waiter (Micca) provided superior service throughout or dinning. The shrimp were huge & they were ok. The porterhouse was actually a T-bone. When I brought this to Micca's attention he immediately offered to fire another, I declined. The steak was prepared to perfection & tasted awesome, as did the asparagus & mushrooms. During our service the Manager (George), the Executive chef (Matias), & the General Manager (Jimmy) all spoke with us & wished my wife a happy birthday. George & Jimmy both went out of their way to correct our t-bone vs porterhouse situation BEYOND our satisfaction. My wife received a complimentary dessert for her birthday & she chose the Black Forest. She loved it. I had the Carmel Apple Tatin, it was pretty good as well. Well.... This is tough. I really want to love this place. Like, seriously. I would love to give an amazing review. I'm trying, really trying.... Ok, here it is. We went a few months ago and ordered an appetizer, the charcuterie board. That's kinda our go-to at any restaurant. On 1-21-23 we attempted to order the charcuterie board but was told "we do not have that anymore". Ok, understandable. So, we continue to order.... After ordering, and before we get our order, we observe a table close that looked like a charcuterie board. We asked the waiter what they ordered and he stated "charcuterie board". When asked how they got this order after we were told it was not available he claimed "he knows somebody". Ok...... So what is really going on? Is there some type of secret menu for a select group of people? Our friend ordered a medium well steak and macaroni and cheese... Her steak was red and had blood running onto the plate. She sent it back and received the same steak, without the side, and rare. Luckily, after complaining again, they don't charge her for her steak. My parents and I had a reservation I'd made online a couple days prior (steakhouse is open Mid-week through Sunday), and I was SO excited to try some of the menu here after seeing some impressive offerings on the menu and some awesome pics. We parked without issue and went inside to play some slot machines (Plinko is my jam, although I didn't win anything, ha!), and before we knew it, it was time to head to the very back of the casino to dine in at Red Oak. The place is very cozy looking and there's cool artwork on the walls. The young woman who is at the hosting station seemed to be a bit spaced out. She wouldn't "process" us until we announced ourselves about 2 minutes after we approached the station. She seemed to be preoccupied with something on the monitor between us and her. Solitaire? Idk. We gave her our surname for the reservation, and after another 2.5 minutes, she "finds" us in the system. There are 2 more parties waiting behind us at this point, and she's just as lofty as she wants to be. :-(. We're seated. High-energy server comes right over, and hands us menus citing that she will "be back to check on us after we've had time to check out the menu." No lie, not even 2 minutes later, she comes back to ask if we see anything we like *blank stare*. We politely explained that we were just looking over the menu, and she proceeds to give us the rundown. She reaches, leaning over the poured glasses of water, to point to the selections on my mother's menu, who is seated farthest from her. Not sure if it ever occurred to her to bring an additional copy of the menu to our table so that she could point to the items she was referencing in THAT menu. Probably not. On to spirits/cocktails. The female server had left a wine/cocktail menu on our table for us to read over as well. I'm sure by now you can imagine how much time we'd had to do that. Server: "What do you typically drink?" Me: "It varies, really." Because TRUE. Server: "Maybe I could just point you in the direction of something in the vein of what you have a taste for," Me: "I'd prefer to just peruse for a moment." Server "okay, just let me know if you have any questions." 37 seconds later, Sommelier comes over because he "heard we were thinking of having some drinks". This is especially irritating to me, and I'd be content to decline beverages altogether, but my father bites, and takes the wine recommendation for the Petit Filet we all chose. Dad opts for a glass of this red (I wasn't even listening at this point), and I chose the same. A lovely young woman employed by the restaurant was thoughtful enough to bring over purse hooks to our table for my mother and I. She smiled and was friendly and attentive without being overbearing and I couldn't help but wonder why SHE wasn't a server. Anyway, the food was absolutely phenomenal. I actually hate to give my experience 4 stars, because the food was ABSOLUTELY 5 STAR, Steak was cooked perfectly to our preference and loaded with flavor, but the blue cheese topping was a wonderful accompaniment. The potatoes are delicious! The asparagus was just as tender as it should be. The wine was a wonderful pairing for our steaks, I must say. I just really wish the waitstaff here would be more conscious of rhythm. Be available without being overbearing. To the host(s), WAKE UP. You aren't here to model clothing or to blend into the entryway, you are an employee of the establishment. Show hospitality. Beautiful restaurant and the young woman who was in somewhat of a support role to the server should be promoted. All that said, I'd definitely dine here again. The chefs are TOP TIER. One MUST experience this fine cuisine whenever in the Pine Bluff, AR area! read more

I give Red Oak 5 Stars! Myself, friend, and 2 clients made reservations last Saturday night for 930pm. Travel changed for 1 of us so we needed to change. The accommodated us for 645pm. Interior very nice and comfortable. Server and cocktail servers very nice, punctual and attentive without bothering our discussion. Steaks oysters vegetables bread wine was top notch. This place in Pine Bluff, AR is as nice of any steakhouse I've been to in NY or Vegas. I believe the Executive Chef is Todd Gold doing great work and I would recommend any friend, family member or client there. I know I will be back! If you looking for an Outback steak that's where you need to go bc Red Oak is definitely not that and worth every dime! read more

I must say that as a world traveler I'm impressed with Red Oak. For those who don't know the A5 Kobe beef is the cotton candy of steak the most tender you will have.
