Apart from the hotel, there is also a Spa, Club, Gym and Play area for the kids, its like a smaller version of a wacky warehouse called Woodys, its a lot airier and modern, with big glass windows! The inside play area is more for the under 5's but they also have a large park outside for the older kids. The staff are helpful and friendly, and they also have an offer at the moment for Parent and Toddlers from 11.30 -2.00pm you can get a free hot drink if you stay and play.

I visited recently with my family to have a Sunday meal in the Hotel Restaurant and it was awesome! We met up in the Conservatory first then made our way to the restaurant. We were shown the menu and there was an excellent choice of starters, main courses and desserts - something for everyone! The staff are very friendly and professional and the table service was excellent. From ordering our food to having it served at the table was very quick and the food was hot and delicious. We didn't feel pressured or rushed to finish, it didn't matter how much noise we made (within reason!), there were strains of happy birthdays being sung around the room at other tables! Well worth the price, which I think was £15 for a three course meal served to you at the table (we were with family members who paid for the party, so not 100% sure of the price). Definitely worth a visit for a Sunday lunch! Highly recommended.

Castleton is not far - and brilliant for walks, pub lunches or wandering around the little shops. Bakewell is also nearby and definitely worth a visit. We stayed in Lime Loft - it was very comfortably furnished and slept four people (one double bedroom and a twin bed room). Kitchen had all the equipment you would ever need as well as useful bits like olive oil, sugar etc which were nice touches. Highly reasonable prices and the owners were really helpful and friendly - although also left you alone to enjoy your holiday. I would definitely return!

They have all mod cons and laundry facilities are located on site. We stayed there for New Year for a week and had a lovely time, the locals are friendly and in the cottage there is a book which recommends local places to visit and where to eat. The price of the cottages is excellent value and worth every penny. The farm is owned by a local family and were very efficient in all dealings for booking the cottages. Ideal for weekend breaks also. We spend seven days there and could have stayed another week theres so much to do. The cottage we stayed in is upsidedown so we slept downstairs. This is excellent as you can eat your breakfast upstairs and see the beautiful views from the windows.
