The pictures were ok and the price was too so I decided to stay here. I was booked into one of their suites and wasn't let down at all. The room was really spacious, with a really nice, large bed, a large living area and nice en suite bathroom. Small touches like a nespresso machine and complimentary soft drinks were in the room. The room was in really good condition, very clean, light and had really nice decor. (see the pictures) The staff were also really friendly and helpful. I will definitely come back and stay here. The location in the middle of town is ideal! Great hotel, great city!

I had mentioned my husband's birthday to the staff as I asked them to have a bottle of wine waiting for us upon arrival, which they were more than happy to accommodate, and they also wrote him a little card along with some complimentary shortbread cakes and vouchers for two free drinks at the hotel bar. Such attention to detail and going out of their way to make our stay a good one was incredible, especially as we were only there for one night. I paid extra and went for a large executive room (shown in the photos I uploaded Room 201) at first glance it didn't look like you got a whole lot extra, but there is more space in the room, the bed is HUGE and one of the most comfortable night's sleeps I have ever had, and the shower was powerful and big enough for two ;) Despite being in the city centre, the noise level was minimal and the staff were friendly and helpful no matter what time of day, night or early morning we spoke to them! Breakfast was of good quality and had a lot of variety to choose from delicious all round. Would recommend and if I venture Nottingham way again, I will definitely be staying here!

There is now a pub/family restaurant built next door so you don't need to travel too far for food. It's a little outside of the city centre but it only takes 5/10 mins by bus/taxi to get there. It's within walking distance of Riverside retail park which offers a reasonable selection of shops.

We were given a large, bright, airy room that was just beside the elevators (804), but we weren't disturbed at all by other guests. I had a great night's sleep and didn't have to leave until quite late as the train station is only a short walk away. Also within walking distance is the mall, a number of bars/clubs and also tons of restaurants. The only very small complaint I have is that the hotel only has two elevators. I know not much can be done about this but it was quite annoying having to wait up to 8 minutes for an elevator to take us to our floor. If we were lower down I would've just walked but we were on the second from top floor. Since these elevators are so slow and always seem to be in use, I recommend you request a lower down floor.

It was £160 for a night, we did have a lovely big room with a flatscreen TV, but to be honest the best value we got was happening to be right next to the refreshments room. In there they had a fridge that was full of bottled beers and wine, which we made the most of! There we're also a selection of canapes in there. We did try room service, it wasn't great though, £10 for tomato soup and some seemingly stale bread, this was at about 2am though. The rooms were nice, very well kept, the bed and sheets were great, the bath/shower was decent, but for the price things definitely could have been a bit better.

The hotel has very nice grounds, and is located in a quiet residential estate near a major motorway (M1). I was also impressed with their restaurant, Blossoms. The extensive menu options, quality of the food and most importantly, they are open all day until 9pm, with room service as well. All too often, I will check into a hotel after flying all night from the US, coupled with a train journey, only to discover my hotel's on-site restaurant is only open for breakfast, and dinner starting at 5pm. The last thing a traveler with my schedule wants is to be required to forage for a decent, relaxing place for a meal after checking in. Definitely not an issue at the DoubleTree. I travel to Nottingham on business at least four times per year. I used to stay in the city center, but the environment is two hectic and the hotels are not nearly as nice as the DoubleTree. She was always there to help us with directions, extra towels and everything else to make our stay the best it could be. We wanted to explore and enjoy Nottingham. Could there be a better location than this boutique hotel? No! You can walk everywhere from this spot. Most of what you will want to visit is within less than a mile and so much to see within say 5 minutes walk. There is no hotel parking but the Lace Market public parking is maybe 4 minutes walk away and if you get your ticket stamped by the hotel the price you pay is about 40% of the public rate!! Our room was super spacious and clean, nice view and right next door to St Mary's church and the National Justice Museum. All the staff were friendly and helpful but with "Covid masks" it was sometimes sad to not interact as much we would have liked. Breakfast was included in our room - a spacious restaurant with myriad choices (Continental) and a plethora of hot choices including the "Full English Breakfast" of course. They also have their own pub "Cock and Hoop" - excellent but allow me to make that a separate review :)

Restaurant Review…read more Merchants at The Lace Market Hotel Nottingham Welcome Home. We were invited to taste the New Menu at Merchants Restaurant Nottingham on Friday. We were swiftly greeted by Restaurant Manager Kieron who talked us through the Menu. The new offering boasts 'Bread & Olives' 'To Begin' 'To Share' 'From the Grill' and 'Classics' options, giving the Menu more of high end Bistro feel. We began with Summer dishes that easily exceeded expectation. The simple description of Sea Trout, Beetroot Fennel & Grapefruit was enough to tempt us, our other choice being the Scallop, broad bean gazpacho, goats curd & olive dish. Both starters were simple and elegant with a well thought out balance of texture and taste. The gazpacho was perfectly seasoned which is extremely difficult to execute (trust me I've tried and failed enough times!) Paired with a Malborough Pinot Gris it was as if summer had finally arrived in style. Again, the Main courses offer a huge variety with new flow to the menu, allowing the guest to decide on sharing, plated, or classics with Head Chef Ben Chaplin and Sous Chef Terry Hayfields take on 'nostalgic homely classics' which I felt was a lovely touch. I opted for the Entrecote, Sarladaise Potato & Cabis served medium rare. The flavour was immense, so simple but again a balanced flavoursome dish. Our other main was the Whole Baby Poussin, Balsamic Roast Peach with Roquet & Parmesan Salad which again highlighted the art of simplicity in Summer cooking. To finish, we shared the Banana Parfait, Burnt Toffee & Pineapple and the Jasmine Creme Brulee with Almond Tuille. A delightful way to finish a meal that well and truly sees high end Bistro dining back on the map in Nottingham. It is time for Nottingham to re-engage with Merchants Restaurant. It is clear that the team have thought long and hard about the direction in which they intend to travel.
