I found Deb at InBalance about a year and a half ago when my prior therapist moved away. I see her on average twice a month. Deb and she is amazing! She did a thorough intake assessment and now requests updates about my condition from my physical therapist. Her deep tissue work and passive stretching help me a great deal. The direct benefits of the massage last for at least 2 to 3 days, and provide much more relief than simple relaxation during the massage itself. She is professional and caring and very talented. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a talented, massage therapist. Especially those looking for some thing a little "more" than a Swedish massage. (I'm sure she does a wonderful job at those, but I need some thing more than that. :-)

My therapist was all about doing the massage and reflexology and did not waste any time getting right to it. When I called to make the appointment, I was informed that the cost is $75 for the 60-minute foot reflexology and cash for tip (all of which I had no problem). Prior to the massage, I was charged the $75 which was fine. At the conclusion of my massage I paid the employee a 20% tip. As I was walking away, the employee stopped me and pointed to the sign on the wall which identifies their tipping rates. She was making a point that I under tipped her based on the sign and she was insinuating I pay her more. The sign listed a 60-minute massage as a tip rate of $20 (which is more than 20%). Mind you, the sign did not contain language such as suggested or recommended. Furthermore, their website says nothing about a mandatory tip requirement. Per MA state law, businesses cannot require a tip on services nor can employers demand/request a tip (unless it is a service charge or for large parties). Tips are considered discretionary and are up to the customer. While it was my goal to leave this experience relaxed and rejuvenated, I ended up leaving offended and annoyed.

I have gotten good service here a year ago. But the last two times weren't great. After a bad…read moreservice, I decided I would try them again because I had had a good service in the past. But I was especially horrified at the last visit! First, the two male therapists who were assigned to my friend and I REEKED of cigs. When they started a massage with what should've been a nice head massage, I realized their fingers were the source of the cigarette stench! When they start on your arms and your shoulder area, they open hand rub the front of your shoulders, which makes them kind of get your chest! They should not be massaging there! Someone wrote a previous review that mentioned boundaries were crossed and I have to imagine this was what she was talking about. The foot massage was fine. All hell kind of breaks loose once you flip over for the 30 minute back massage. My friend and I were both dying! I have had so many massages in my life- I even have a monthly membership at one of the popular massage chains. Every vacation I go on I get a massage. This was like getting a random biker off the side of the road to give a massage. It was so aggressive and painful and I'm pretty sure they were applying pressure to places where you are not supposed to. Walpole board of health- please check licenses and certifications! They probably need to implement a handwashing practice, as well. I definitely had cigarette fingers all over me. Oh, and by the way. We tried to communicate with the men that we were in pain and they didn't listen, care, adjust, or seek understanding. There definitely was a language barrier. When we left, our two men went straight outside to smoke more cigs.
