To understand what I am looking for. Clean, good bed, nice shower. A place to sleep before I head out again the next day. This place is perfect! Very nice rooms, fridge, table, desk area, TV. Everything is perfect. Also if you needed there is a covered off-set grill area for cooking. I would recommend this place to everyone.

Cute little retro motel. This place is family owned and very clean. The family that owns it is very friendly and helpful. In general, Cortez is a very friendly little town. We were here on Christmas day and all restaurants were closed. The only open place was closing as we were about to enter and they let us in anyway so we wouldn't have to go hungry on Chritmas night. We were not rushed or anything and could take our time to eat. In the morning, we went to a small gas station to buy an ice scraper and a really nice girl that was just leaving the store and must have overheard my husband asking the clerk where to find one, just gave me hers to keep!!! Incredibly nice! :)

Clean, family owned and affordable. The front desk is friendly and do their best to accommodate. The inn is only a few miles from downtown Cortez and has a beautiful mountains behind it. I highly recommend this inn.

After a long drive through several states to arrive to the fair-weathered town of Cortez, Colorado,…read moreI was pleased to see this hotel within walking distance of so many places. It's an ideal location for those conscious of the environment to easily move around and find what you need. At first glance, I thought the fountain was inappropriate until I got closer and realized the water is meant to flow from a vase and not something that's... erm... Well something often uncovered on a Greek statue. Love love LOVE the Southwest theme! Native Americans come in to set up a pottery and jewelry table in the lobby Monday through Friday from 6 - 10 am. The breakfast also has a sizable spread just outside the lobby with a variety of coffee, tea, and juice to choose from. Also, it was nice to see Halloween decorations at the front desk, reminding me fondly of my childhood. The bathroom was spacious and came with a tub. Something I've noticed lately is that tubs only seem to come in handicap accessible rooms, and now knowing what I do, I don't wish to ever take that away from someone who needs it more. However, I'll note that the counters, closet, and door latches are all shorter with those needs in mind. The floor tiles coming in have these really awesome Native American stamps, and the lamps have similar design. The curtains are in hues of green, blue, and turquoise, and the furniture is nice. The tellie works, and the bed has no right to be so comfortable. During our first night, the lamp switched on and off by itself repeatedly, walking us up at odd hours. I know, I know, you're thinking, it's not haunted, there's a scientific explanation for this! There was. The bulb was loose, and vibrations from the floor above us kept tripping it. BUT WAIT! There's more. As I have the ability to work from my laptop, I noticed things slightly out of place. Not moved, per se, but shifted. And on Thursday, my vape lay flat on the counter, minding its own business and not hurting anything when I watched in real time as it rolled off the counter and shattered on the tile. RIP glass tank, RIP. I will say right now that it was far from the ledge and the surface was level. My vape had no reason to roll away on dangerous adventures. All I can say is if my room was haunted, 1) that's freaking awesome and 2) it's likely a playful ghost. But I really wish it hadn't targeted my poor vape. That gets expensive. Speaking of oddities of the non supernatural variety, the floor length mirror is right in front of the toilet. For the love of all things good, why is this a thing? I really don't need to watch myself do my business on the pot. That's weird. A final thing I will note regarding the building that has been echoed in many reviews is that the foundation, decor, carpeting, and dim hallway lighting is all dated. It actually didn't bother me because it gave the odd happenings a very fun appeal, and I also felt an old charm. However, this hotel probably could do with a remodel at some point. Amenities: The indoor pool and hot tub are nice. I wouldn't say the pool is large, but there was enough room for me to comfortable swim laps while my husband relaxed in the jacuzzi after being on his feet all day. Laundry room: didn't use. This hotel charges for those features, and half the equipment was out of order. Fitness Room: right next to the laundry room, and both of these amenities are in a building in the same parking lot but separate from the main building. Staff: Excellent! They were on top of our needs, providing me with extra coffee for my Kürig, switching out our towels since we have the DND sign up, and even placing trash bags on my door handle after I'd set out my bags in front of my door (I'd brought my own but this was nice). I even got to know the morning housekeeper a bit during my stay. My week consisted of a fantastic, if not slightly spooky and fun experience. I'd definitely return.

We got word that my mother in law was very ill and was going to die. We had to cancel our travel plans. I called immediately and spoke to a woman at the front desk. She said she would take care of it. Stupid me, I trusted her. She didn't. A few weeks later, I see a one night charge on my card (that's their policy, if you're a no-show you're charged one night). Uh, no, I called and canceled! So I called again and asked to speak to the manager. That was a no, he doesn't take phone calls and I had to email him. I did. Twice. No response. I submitted a dispute with my credit card but I shouldn't have to. This bonehead of a manager should 1) take calls from confused (and now, angry) guests) and 2) respond to emails. So, screw you Best Western Turquoise Inn. The manager there is a jerk and the front desk woman I spoke with is incompetent. You can bet your ass we will never stay at your hotel. Not only did we lose my mother in law, but I was wrongfully charged $60 despite me being responsible and canceling. I'm being punished for your employee's lack of follow through.

The office staffer, Connie, was amazingly nice. She gave me a "National Park Pass" discount of $10 so my room was under $70. Price is nice, but the room was truly "historic" AND very clean. I stayed here in August 2019, which judging by past reviews, was shortly after the change in ownership. Check-in was alright and I was directed to a room in the front of the property. When I pulled up to my room, a staff member doing work on the came up to me and asked for my room key so he could turn on the AC and make sure the room was ready...okay. This might just be my New York paranoia talking, but I gave the room a thorough inspection when I got inside. The room was a 50s motel room, which was about what I expected. Furniture was dated, but it was clean. The internet password was not posted prominently and required me to read the fine print in the guide. Most hotels post the wifi password prominently and don't expect you to spend 15 minutes looking all over the room for it. Once I got that settled, the room was generally quiet and comfortable. The next morning, renovation work was going on pretty early in the morning. Thankfully, I wanted an early start anyway, so I wasn't bothered. This property worked for the night, but I'm not sure I'd return. Independent motels are always a gamble and, unfortunately, this one didn't live up to the past reviews.

Unfortunately, we had to move our room each night due to problems with the rooms. It was difficult enough being there for the memorial of my husband's child, but also that neither one of us were feeling good and having to move room to room made things worse! This shouldn't have happen in any hotel! The hotel is older and is quite rundown in some areas it needs improvement! The hotel itself is not bad as far as layout with pool in middle and nice plants but in whole , it definitely needs some work to repair those things . On the other hand, the day crew each day were outstanding, and several employees went out of their way to do what they could to accommodate. The number one person there was Amy, she was outstanding in every way Customer service oriented and very friendly, and did what she could to accommodate . First I'll mention my only two complaints: 1) the shower didn't have any shelves to set my stuff on, and 2) the kitchenette didn't have any dishes, pots, pans, or utensils. Luckily I didn't need to use the kitchenette, but it would have been nice to know I needed to bring my own kitchenware ahead of time. I read some reviews about the shower not being hot, and I actually had some friends staying in a different room, and they said their shower wasn't hot. My shower actually started off lukewarm, but after a few minutes it was hot, so all good there! I had a fridge, a microwave, the A/C worked great, the TV was good, and there was a coffee maker too! Next, I have to say that the breakfast was fantastic! It is very difficult to know what the breakfast will be like before you're actually there. I had scrambled eggs, sausage patties, potatoes with bell peppers, toast with butter and jelly, coffee, and orange drink. There were also bagels, cream cheese, cereal, milk, and a waffle maker available! The staff were very friendly as well! This place was a bargain! I highly recommend!
