5 stars! Andrew Vera, the general manager at Hampton Inn by Hilton in Cortez, was absolutely amazing--so kind, helpful, and professional. He truly made our stay memorable. The rooms were spotless, the beds were incredibly comfortable, and the bathrooms were great. We also loved the amenities, and the breakfast was hot, fresh, and beautifully displayed. Highly recommend! read more

NO HOSPITALITY HERE!!! My husband booked rooms with this property as he will be working in the area for a few months through his employer. He mistakenly booked the wrong dates and when made aware of his error he contacted the property and spoke with the "GM" Andy Vera. Andy refused to give credit for the mistaken booking although future bookings were already made that would cure the error, this is a completely discretionary and shameful decision on his behalf. I then personally called the property and spoke with this Andy who also refused my petition. I then left a message for the property owners, Avik A Amin and his sister, who have yet to return my call, very professional. My husband was then contacted again by Andy who informed him that all of his future room nights had also been cancelled due his opinion that "We did not have good intentions". Beyond stupid!!! read more

Hampton Inn is garbage and the worst hotel for families. They have these ridiculous sliding barn door bathroom doors that don't lock and have gigantic gaps all the way around, so imagine the level of privacy felt by a mom with two pre-teen boys - non-existent. I will never stay at a Hampton Inn again, or any other place that doesn't have a normal hinged door in a door frame - ridiculous that this has to be a consideration for family hotels now. read more

Nice Hampton Inn located about forty five minutes from the Four Corners monument. Plenty of parking around the building with key card access exterior doors. Our room on the second floor experienced a lot of noise from the upper floor. Could just be that particular guest, but if we stay here again I'd request a top floor room. Our room was clean and felt quite large. The bed is against the bathroom wall, facing the window. I really like this room configuration. The bed is comfortable with a variety of pillows. Desk, fridge, luggage rack are all there. Bathroom has multi-use products on the walls and there are plenty of hooks in there! Towels enough for three. There is a fan in the ceiling, but no switch to turn it on. Plenty of hot water and good pressure. Barn style door rolls between the closet and bathroom. Breakfast was OK. The coffee isn't good. This location does not have a breakfast fridge so some of the items (yogurt, cream cheese) were not available. Oatmeal, eggs, sausage gravy and biscuit, meat along with cold cereals, toaster items and waffles. Staff were friendly. Big hotel shop. Water bottle filling station. Guest laundry. read more

5 stars. Lots of parking around. Everything worked and glad for online access. I've been loyal to Hilton decades and do not let one location overshadow all the good - and certainly not the low end Hampton chain! Having reasonable expectations is always best as things may not be what is said / believed or even imagined ! Going over the top for any issue will never help. We enjoyed our stay and will be back ! read more

Very clean and well kept hotel near Mesa Verde NP. Conveniently located near restaurants, fuel, groceries, etc. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. But, the absolute best thing about this establishment is the Green Chili Pork Stew for breakfast. Brilliant! What a delicious treat to highlight local cuisine. read more

This place I recommend but it does have it pros and cons. The pros: Nice heated pool and hot tub, the girl lilee was really nice. The breakfast was also really good. The cons: The place was kinda teared up and needs to be remodeled. This hotel was nice to stay in but it wasn't perfect. read more

Excellent service! I was traveling through Cortez returning to Seattle. I accidently left my Christmas present (a Yeti travel cooler) in the hotel refrigerator. When I realized I left the cooler I was already two hours away. I assumed I had lost it. An hour later I received a phone call from the Cortez Hampton letting me know they found my cooler and could mail it to my home in Washington. I was so happy that they called. FedEx just delivered the cooler that they returned. THANK YOU! We will definitely be back. 5 stars! read more

Zero issues and was one of the closest places I could find near 4 Corners. We checked out the park and lake down the road along with the large cow or bull status by the defunct BBQ place before settling in the for the night. The staff was friendly and the price was awesome. read more

This was a very friendly, clean & spacious Hampton Inn. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again in the area. As far as one comment about the curtains, the long one is decorative and the light blocking curtain is behind the sheer. You can block out the street lights. For those of us traveling with dogs, they have one if the nicest spaces to have your digs take care of their business and I'm assuming between staff & dog owners there was no poo to step over and if you forgot a bag they have them at the waste station. Nice attention to detail. read more

Stayed here one night in order to see the Mesa Verde National Park. The hotel was in a convenient location in relation to the park and the city. The room was a nice size and the beds were comfortable. The only negative is that the air conditioning unit was placed in the middle of the window and the heavy curtains were framing the sides of the window meaning a sheer curtain was in the middle of the window. Light could enter through the sheer curtain so if light bothers you, this may not be the hotel for you. I was fine but my friend got no sleep. They did offer a small breakfast which was nice. I would stay here again as the curtains did not bother me and it was convenient to to town and the park. read more

PICK ANOTHER PLACE TO STAY. Well, I must say that my disappointment with this hotel and the management of this hotel is not measurable. Worst Hampton we have been to. No contact about their mistake or any comment regarding our displeasure. This does not really shock me from this management staff considering how we were treated upon our arrival. What was shocking was the lack of concern by the Hilton customer service team. We reported this to them, and their solution was to send it back to the same hotel team that has sucked since we walked through the door. We will no longer be the loyal customers we have been for many years. We are now exploring the other chains and the benefits they offer. We will now select based on price and price alone. There will be no more planning out trips around places that have Hilton family hotels. For our years of loyalty this is how it all ends. Last note is that it takes years to earn a loyal customer and only seconds to lose one or more. read more

A nice, clean, organized place to stay, east of the main part of town. Breakfast was the usual Hampton Inn. We stayed in room 106. Polite staff. Positives: 3 bath towels hooks, comfy arm chair, desk chair, quiet refrigerator, highway noise muffled, plenty of room, microwave, plenty of usb and standard outlets at desk and near beds, 2 AC outlets in bathroom, real hangers in nice closet, four pillows per bed. There were two large trash bags for us to use hanging on the bathroom drawer; both trash cans had extra tucked in the side - nice COVID adaptation! Negatives: HVAC - when heater turns off, fan continues to blow cold air around room instead of shutting off at selected temperature; room phone wouldn't disconnect; room abuts pantry, with doors and pans and whatever slamming around behind your head from 6-10 AM! read more

LOVED the theming of this hotel down to the lights it was so beautiful, the breakfast was all stocked and completely full it was very good. The beds were extremely comfortable and the staff was all very nice and helpful overall 10/10 wish I was staying a week read more

We pulled into the parking lot with five Indian motorcycles. The woman at the desk came out and offered to let us keep the bikes at the entrance in the covered area (so nice)! She also helped us find a place to get some food late. Beyond that, the hotel is really nice. I stay at a lot of Hampton and this one is one of the best (The one in Chicago with a full size car on the wall is cooler). The rooms look new and are very clean. We have three rooms and they are all top notch! I highly recommend staying here. Especially if you are on a bike! read more

We were lucky to find a vacancy! We drove a marathon day from southern California into Cortez to line ourselves up for the next day at Mesa Verde National Park. Because of not knowing whether or not we'd make it, we were flying by the seat of our pants and did not make a reservation in town. The first couple of places were booked but found rooms available at the Hampton Inn. The room was clean, AC worked great, bed was cozy - everything was in working order. Lots of plugs for recharging electronics. Also the free breakfast in the morning was satisfying with lots of choices. Pretty good choice for flying in to town by the seat of our pants! Would stay here again. read more

We stayed here about 3 weeks the owners were awesome nice to see down to earth people owning a piece of the pie , not corporate America or middle eastern, and good people running the place the managers were on top of the place if there was riff raff the manager man was on it thank you so much for the late check out and on a busy weekend at that . The Celtic fair was in town that weekend much thanks to all 5 of you plus the house keeping staff ,,,,we'll be back oh and 5 dollar pet fee man that can't be beat .... read more

Room was updated, clean, and in good condition. Housekeeping uses a heavy flower fragrance and the room windows will not open to allow the room to air out a little. Probably wouldn't stay here again because of that fragrance. Carpet in the elevator and hallways was filthy. Hopefully that will be updated soon. read more

Very happy with this location. Don't fall for the extra rate on the Mountain View room. It's a view of another hotel in front of a mountain lol. No big deal. Accommodations are clean and comfortable. It's within walking distance of several restaurants and food options. read more

Pretty decent hotel. Stayed here a week. Did not try their breakfast however but the room was very clean and nice showers. Parking is good and is really close to allot of places locally. Large spacious room that was clean. Pretty quiet and decent breakfast selection. The gym was a little disappointing with missing items and broken TVs. For the area, this was definitely the best-looking hotel. Next to Walmart which was very convenient. read more

I received a double bed room when I reserved a king room. The guy at check in refused to give me the correct room. The staff REFUSED to give me corporate's number and said that they are closed. The guy at check in laughed at the situation and could careless. This is someone who should not be in customer service. The lady at check in is the person who refused to give me corporate's number. I've been a Hilton Honors member for over 16 years, and I have never been treated with this level of disrespect. Update: This stay was part of my 25th Wedding Anniversary trip across America. We cancelled all our other stays with Hilton due to the issue with this Hampton. Marriott was great about getting us reservations within their hotel chain to replace our Hilton reservations. read more

I'm giving a two rating because of the maid service. They were in the room next to me music playing loudly with door open. I was trying to take a nap and went and asked her to turn down the music after 2 hours. She did a bit, but then she clanked around in that room for another 2 hours trying to make a point, before going across the hall leaving the door open vacuuming and talking to other maids in the hallway. It got to the point I thought the clanking was being made on purpose. I had a do not disturb sign on the door and still they knocked. I had already gone and gotten fresh towels and had them take away used towels and garbage. I know they need to clean, but over 4 hours in one room is a little ridiculous. The breakfast service area was nice and clean with great smoothies! The room was nice and clean also. This isn't the first time I've had maids taking breaks next door. I would think the manager would monitor things a bit better. read more

Hampton Inn Mesa Verde/Cortez - Morning view from hotel window. - Hotels Near Me - Cortez, Colorado

Summary based on one one-night stay: --great location for access to Mesa Verde --ok prices. Book direct for possible discount. --quiet room --good breakfast with healthy options --good room temperature control, internet, and guest laundry --easy, free parking --some helpful staff, but not all --24 hour Walmart nearby However, microwave didn't work. The helpful front desk clerk supplied a replacement. On check out I invoked the Hampton 100% guarantee since we had screwed around with the microwave in the room for several minutes, then went through the whole replacement routine. The manager pushed back and mentioned that a record would be kept, presumably to dissuade me from asking for the night's refund. I stay at a lot of hotels for a lot of nights and I think this is the second time I've ever asked for a refund under the Hampton guarantee. The amount wasn't that great ( less than $100), but it's a guarantee. In this case it surfaced a problem with the manager's training. I answered the Hilton survey stating the facts as I saw them and got a defensive email from the manager. That email was the kind that you write, then throw away before sending to a customer. I like Hilton properties, but won't stay here again. read more

We had a huge beautiful room on the top floor. Our room also had a mini fridge and microwave, ice machine nearby which is always handy for our road tripping cooler needs. When we arrived the staff told us that the hotel was fully booked & considering that we were pretty impressed. We had an early-ish dinner and came back to the room about 7 - 7.30pm, there was plenty of parking and the hotel was not noisy or anything. Breakfast the next day was alright, we'd had hotel breakfast the previous morning which was better, but it was still alright here. I didn't like the biscuit & gravy and the hot food options was a bit more limited then most hotel breakfast's but they had plenty of nice fresh fruit, waffles, bagels, muffins, cereal, oats etc. We'd gone down about 7am and it wasn't very busy at all. The tea options was a bit different to anywhere else I've ever seen, there was Black tea, lemon tea and lemon black tea...no green or mint. I don't mind because I like Lemon tea too but it was odd enough to mention. read more

We had been driving all day and decided to stop for the night. I was happy to find availability using my points. Easy to unload in front with available carts. The AC unit was so loud I could not use it. Not your normal rumble that is always the case with these type units, but a loud rattling and knocking. Went to to desk to see about another room. There was a guest before me.It took 13 min for the agent to get that guest checked in. The guest and the agent talked about: how much the hotel pays third party booking services, and the merits of such services, the guest upcoming trip to Asia, the price of the room, and addition casual conversation. All the while the line is getting longer and longer, the front desk agern didn't seem to care. When I finally mentioned the air condition unit, the agent didn't seem to know what I was talking about. But the hotel was full so I was stuck. And I guess if the owners can fill the hotel, why worry about the poor state of the facility. The light by the sofa would not work because the recetial was damaged and could not be plugged in. The sink didn't drain. water would accumulate and slowly receded. The free breakfast was way overpriced! Like eating at a Mini Mart. As a Hilton Honors Lifetime member, I will not stay here again. The points benefits are not worth the misery. read more

Hampton Inn/Cortez,CO This is a brand new Hampton Inn excellent in almost every respect. The "almost" is the usual mess called Hilton wifi. It is consistently and across all brands, terrible. It is so slow as to be utterly useless. How they could build a new hotel such poor wifi is beyond me. I complained to the front desk and the very nice young lady said she would "reboot" it but that would probably not work: "a lot of people are using it and when a lot of people are using it, it doesn't work". The lesson here is obvious. If you intend to use wifi at a Hilton brand hotel, don't do it unless you are assured that, including you, not "a lot of people" are also booked there. I will graciously take myself out of this mix by never staying in a Hilton brand again thus reducing "a lot of people" by one and, selflessly, maybe, allow some other beleaguered Hilton guest a chance of wifi use. read more

We spent two nights here for our SoCO roadtrip. The room is nicely appointed, beds comfortable, pillows very usable, bathrooms were spacious and pretty and breakfast had great options for most people. Here is why we didn't give 5 stars, towels, holy goodness, these towels were thin, rough and THIN. Also, a towel hook closer to the shower so you don't have to step out of the shower to grab your towel and get the floor wet. Breakfast - if you are a vegetarian, your only protein option is peanut butter on a bagel or toast as the scrambled eggs on Sunday had ham in it and Monday, the bagel toppers had bacon. There were cold hard boiled eggs but if you wanted something warm there was no option. But breakfast did have a nice variety for those without dietary restrictions and what we had tasted good. read more

I tried posting about my experience on Trip Advisor, it turns out that the hotel is a paid member and approves what's posted. My review never got approved or posted on Trip Advisor as a result. I was NOT escorted off by law enforcement and I did not harass staff or guests. The responding officers (called by the manager who wasn't even at the hotel during my stay) were very nice and suggested that I not stay at that hotel again. As well, Hilton Hotel's corporate called me and apologized several times and offered me tons of points and free stays. I declined all they offered me. Hilton permanently lost my business. read more

Visited this Hampton Inn after a long day touring Mesa Verde and was pleasantly surprised. The hotel just opened and is very clean and modern. I usually skip reviewing a hotel like the Hampton Inn as they are similar in appearance and amenities, but this one stands out and deserves accolades for dialing the standard hotel up a notch. Nice job Hilton! read more

The room was so nice, spacious and clean. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Would return!

We stayed there at the end of March and I must say the property is new, well-kept and very comfortable. The rooms are well appointed and super clean. Did I mention the free breakfast?! I would have given them 5 stars as is, but we ended leaving our shoes in the room and did not notice until we were a few hundred miles away. I called Janice and she was super helpful to have kept our shoes and offered to mail them back home to us. Patty in the mailroom even called me to double check the delivery info. That is awesome customer service. It speaks volumes to how well this place is run. Definitely recommend to all coming to Cortez to stay! read more
