Some new, some antique, some classic, some quirky. The owner/manager/employee that was on shift was super pleasant and welcoming. She engaged in conversation and made us feel welcome. The shop is kind of tucked away in a center that you wouldn't really expect to find it in. I hope they do well in the future and are able to get the word out about the store. I've really appreciated aspects of being part of Painted Tree Marketplace, but I've had a very…read moredifficult experience trying to navigate my lease and communication with the Sparks location. Last fall, I went in person to ask about ending my lease early and was told there was no option to do so. I was not informed that there was a formal written process or specific email required to submit a cancellation request. After that, I waited for a renewal notice or any communication about my lease timeline, but never received one. I also checked the vendor portal and could not find clear information about my lease terms or renewal date. I made multiple attempts to call, but the voicemail box was full, and I wasn't able to leave messages. I also sent an email and did not receive a response. Eventually I was able to reach someone, and only then was I given the correct email to submit my request--which I did immediately. I was also told I could sublet my space and found someone ready to take it. Later, I was informed that subletting was not actually possible due to tax reporting, which caused me to lose that opportunity. I understand that there are policies in place, but I made consistent good faith efforts--in person, by phone, by email, and through the portal--to understand and follow the process, and I did not have access to the correct information at the time. I'm sharing this in hopes that corporate can review situations like this, as better communication and clearer processes would make a big difference for vendors.
