I can't be the only person who's always wanted to try a White Castle because of Harold and Kumar! Regardless, when I moved to town, White Castle was on the list of things I wanted to try first. Hungry at lunch the other day, I decided to give it a go. I dined in so that I could have it as fresh as possible, and ordered on my app in order to get five dollars off for being a new customer. The restaurant was clean and the employees were super nice! I wanted to try a little bit of everything so I ordered a Double Jalapeño Cheese slider, a Double American Cheese Slider, a Bacon & American Cheese Slider, a Crispy Chicken Slider, a Smoked Cheddar Slider and Fries. After using the savings in my app, the total came to a little over eight dollars! You can't beat that. The verdict is in... The winner is the crispy chicken slider hands down. Followed very closely by the Double Jalapeño Cheese Slider! I did love the smokiness of the smoked cheddar one too, but I like the double better. Next time, maybe I will get a double jalapeño a double smoked cheddar and a crispy chicken! The crinkle cut fries, are just crinkle cut fries. Next time I think I'll try a different side. read more

Horrible service. Only two poor souls working. Dinning are closed with no notice why or signs. Drive through line not moving. Literally 45 minute wait in drive through. Cars honking. Cars leaving by pulling out of line or turning around. Obviously their management team is indifferent to the problem. Someone competent would call in relief for the workers. This is probably the worst White Castle in the state. We waited in the drive through for 10 minutes and then went inside. The manager on duty (she was a BIG fat girl with brown hair) had an attitude when my girlfriend asked how long the food would be she gave an attitude and laughed. It's really pathetic that they can't handle fast food service. I've done it myself and it's not hard or rocket science. Whoever was on that crew should definitely be fired and they should try and hire people who are competent. Would never come back to this location again and I advise no one else waste their time. I went to high school in St. Louis and have lived in Texas for years now. While in Columbia on business, I was excited to see a White Castle near my hotel. I used to love White Castle back in the mid-90s when I was in high school, and I couldn't wait to relive those memories. Unfortunately, this visit was a huge disappointment. When I walked in, four employees saw me standing at the counter -- one even walked past me -- and no one said a word. Not a hello, not a "we'll be right with you," nothing. No smiles, no sense of friendliness, and they all looked like they didn't want to be there. I waited at least 5-10 minutes before anyone helped me, and there was no line, no one in the drive-thru, and only one other customer in the dining room who already had his food. I got my order to go, but sadly, the food was just as disappointing as the service. The sliders were nothing like I remembered -- bland, unappealing, and just not worth it. The chicken sliders were no better. I have some great memories of White Castle from my high school days, but this experience erased any desire to ever return. WC is always a MUST! One of my childhood favs, came here while in the area to get my fix and I am SO glad I came! Everything was fresh and hot off the grill. I ordered a #2 with FF , onion rings and fish nibblers. Don't judge LOL! Eat some now and save some for later. One hick up the drive thru speaker was not working correctly so I basically had to scream into the speaker. The lady who took my order was very nice, patient and made sure my order was correct. As a sucker for White Castle, I had to stop! Drive through since it was so late and as you all know it is usually when you hit a White Castle, IYKYK. Server was friendly and patient. Took my order and even repeated it back to me. But when I got my bag and got back to my hotel, I was missing two sandwiches! You know what Joe Pesci says. So the double cheese were as expected but def disappointing were the chicken and fish. They were both over cooked. Very sad. All in all still will visit again and again. Man, I had been dreaming about fresh White Castle sliders for months. Not the frozen ones -- I wanted that steamy, fresh-out-the-kitchen taste you only get from the real deal. So when I finally got the chance to go, I was hyped... and I left disappointed. I asked for a few things to be left off my sliders, nothing crazy, just a simple request. They ignored it completely and put it on anyway like they didn't even read the ticket. On top of that, the bag had a little hole in it like someone snagged it while bagging things up. Just sloppy. The sliders were warm, but not exactly fresh -- more like they'd been sitting around for a bit. Definitely not what I had in mind after craving them this long. Honestly, I think I'll skip this location if I ever want White Castle again. Might just drive to Saint Louis or grab the frozen ones next time. At least then I know what I'm getting. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. Horrible place. We live 27 hours away and this was our first time trying this but we won't be back. Didn't realize it until after we ordered. The inside was gross, dead flies all over. It felt like there was no air on inside so it was hot, muggy and smelled. The burgers were disgusting. Patties were gray and soaked in grease. Food took forever to get done and the patties were gray and buns soaked in grease. This place and town is awful. Do not go here, it is absolutely disgusting. read more

I did a drive up order. It took four tries to get the order read back correctly. It then took over 15 minutes to get up to the window. When I got there the lady reached for my payment. I pulled it back and asked for her to confirm my order before I paid. She then asked me what I ordered. I had enough at the point and told them to forget it. This is the third time that I have had a horrible experience with this White Castle. Service is horrible and it takes an exorbitant amount of time for them to fill orders. If you like White Castle sliders, you will like these. Nothing beats fresh sliders! I don't even mind the long wait. I expect it when I go in the lobby because I know they have to prioritize the drive through. Come to expect a wait. What gets this one star is 1) They have no extra napkins out. 2) They don't serve your food in a tray when you eat in. They toss everything in a sack and that's what you get. 3) Don't dare ask for ketchup. I got four sliders and a medium fry. I politely asked for ketchup. The girl hands me four packets. Ok, that's a packet each for each slider. So I say, "Can I get some ketchup to go with my fries, please?" The way the girl looks at me would make you think I asked her to go out of her way. Yeah, go out of her way to move her hand back into the secret stash of ketchup packets and hand me some more. I got two more. Two ketchup packets for a full medium fries. Hey, White Castle-you do know people travel from out of town to eat here right? Why make it seem like you despise the customers who are darkening your door to help pay for your wages? The way she acted, you'd think the ketchup cost was coming out of her pocket. If you want White Castle, where else are you going to go? Still beats the frozen sliders heated up in the microwave. But bring your own condiments. This place acts like you're asking for gold coins if you request more than what they think you should get. We drove over 300 miles round trip because there isn't one in my area!!! Craving a burger that a freezer section couldn't compare to we decided the only cure was the real thing, so off we went. 4 sliders with cheese, mac bites, fries, onion rings, and some chicken rings. We also had to try the new sloppy joe sliders, and man I'm glad we did!!! The service was a bit slow, and we asked for a milkshake; after ordering it and paying we were told they didn't have any. It was a 3 star service, but the food made up for it. I forgot that their batter basically taste like funnel cake without the powdered sugar! The burgers as always were amazing, the fries were terrible, and the onion rings and chicken rings were amazing because of said batter!! But ohhhh man those new sloppy Joe's with cheese and the fried onion. I hope these become a staple, and it's not just a limited time thing. read more

This was my first trip to White Castle since they were in the Hills concession stand, or was it Ames? back in the day. This is a stand alone, drive thru run of the mill fast food place that is also nearby Pizza Hut and various places of that nature. I came in and ordered a #2 slider meal and was given a cup for yet again a Coke machine that had he screen and NEVER HAS ANYTHING PROPERLY STOCKED IN IT. Plus those machines taste terrible. Went with a Powerade. Being able to look in the back it was very messy and unorganized. The guy upfront who took my order was really nice (not with the long long dreads but the other guy with dreads). The back was messy, things looked somewhat unsanitary, so I would say clean that up or make it so we can't see what's cooking in the back. Food was so-so, fries were crispy but the burgers were not very done well. read more

We are staying across the street and we visited White Castle three times. Each time it tastes better. It's our favorite family tradition to get some sliders. Dead flies by the non functioning drink machine, sticky floors and doors and just mildly annoying to finish off the experience--no bottom bun on my burger. I took my food and threw it away. This was a nasty dirty dining area. It hadn't been cleaned in some time. The trash was overflowing and the tables were not clean. The soda machine was empty of half the drink choices. I went to pick up my meal and a person was sleeping behind the counter with their head on the table. The staff wasn't friendly at all, but the food was ok. This is the nicest looking White Castle I've ever been in. I moved away from Michigan to a state that doesn't have them, and I'm in Columbia for a couple of days so I was happy to visit. After waiting several minutes with no one responding to take our order, the woman on the speaker finally told us we could order when we were ready, which we had been for several minutes just waiting in silence. We asked if there was a deal on ordering 10 castle burgers, she sighed really loudly as if annoyed and then said, 'hang on.' After waiting several more minutes for her response, she finally spoke again and told us we could order when we were ready. Never answering us. For White Castle, we had a great lunch. We don't have this chain locally so we try to hit it anytime we find this restaurant. Fresh is so much better than frozen from the grocery store. They have cheese options! American, smoky cheddar or jalapeño. They also have fried pickles (a little greasy but fried fresh and piping hot). And no visit is complete without chicken rings. Everything was hot and fresh. Unfortunately they were out of ranch. honey mustard is good on the chicken rings, as is the bbq sauce. I used horseradish mustard on the pickles but would have been better with ranch. Good service and everyone was pleasant. read more

On our way to St Louis, we decided to check our White Castle since it hasn't been in Kansas City area for a long time. We ordered the fish slider, seafood crab cake slider, the original slider, chicken & waffle slider with a side of fries, mozzarella sticks and shrimp nibblers. Everything was served on paper plates with cardboard cover for the sliders. In my opinion, all of the cardboard covers seem wasteful. I wish there was a recycling area. We liked everything besides the waffle slider because it was dry and overly sugary for our tastes. The fries were bland. I would pass on the fries next time I'm in the area. The original sliders are the way to go. The small bite size sliders are perfect for those who want to try other sliders. I recommend the original slider and the fish slider. read more

I've never been to a White Castle as they don't have them where I live. After a long day of driving we were excited to try it. The drive through was busy, not unlike in n out burger in California where we live. So we expected to wait a while. We went inside and waited at least 10 minutes before anyone took our order. I get it, they were busy, but no one even greeted or acknowledged that we were waiting. We had our order taken and waiting another 20 minutes while the three people that came in and ordered after us got their food. We had two separate ordered and mine was the second. When I finally got my food the other party with me asked about there's and was told someone took their order. Unless they gave it away in the drive through that did not happen as we were right there and they did not call our name. We finally got our food with a less that sincere apology and we're on our way. The food was ok. The burgers were mostly bread. The fries were good and the chicken and waffle slider was excellent, best thing we had from there. I will never go to any White Castle again. The food was not worth is and definitely wouldn't go to this location and get ignored again. read more

We came here for Valentine's Day as a fun and lighthearted way to celebrate. We were very pleasantly surprised by our experience! Everyone who worked here was dressed up and more than friendly all evening. If you read any of my reviews, you'll quickly know that I am a very picky critic. That said, this experience blew past even my expectations. We made our reservations as soon as it was available and I am glad, it was packed! Despite the crowd, we overheard the manager several times making sure her crew was being split properly between managing the drive thru and providing the dine in guests a full experience. She was on top of everything and it showed! We were asked several times how everything was, if we needed anything, refills, etc. We had a blast and would recommend everyone to come by this location!
