Came here to get a a transmission repaired. Good service, very knowledgeable staff and they complete the work in-house. The price was a bit steep, but beats having to get a new car. There were some issues and the car had to be taken back a few times, but the issue was finally resolved and they were pleasant during the entire time they worked the kinks out. They also guarantee their work for a year and also accept credit/debit cards. All on all, would highly recommend for any transmission services that may be needed. read more

Needed a transmission flush on my car. They did a diagnostic for $75 but said 3 codes showed up. I had my car sent to a professional mechanic I always trust (Eakle's Auto Care) and the best Volkswagen dealership I know (Ourisman Volkswagen of Laurel) and both of them said there was nothing wrong with the car and no codes. Cost me a lot of money in Lyft rides while I waited for nothing to be wrong with the car. read more

Repaired my transmission to my 1988 2.8 L Buick to normal state with smooth performance. Perfect operation status.

They have me a 12 business day turn around for my transmission repair. I went to Glen Burnie transmission and they could complete the work in 3 days. Do not recommend. Plus the manager (male) was very disrespectful to me as a woman. He was condescending and rude. read more

2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee showing muiltiple warnings. Whitcraft was recommended by Dave Serio (You-Auto-Know radio program) I had it towed in, evaluated and was both surprised AND relieved it was NOT the Transmission, but a wheel speed sensor! $250 and I can sleep again... read more

I thought I had a transmission problem with my early 2000's Jeep. My regular mechanic referred me to them. They had it overnight, and checked it out the next day. By 1:00, I received a phone call from the manager telling me all was fine and no transmission issues found and they charged me a whopping NOTHING! That right there should tell you what honesty means to them. They could have told me anything bad and I would have believed. I have referred anyone and everyone I can to these guys. And the ones that actually needed work done? Nothing but high praise for service and price. Don't bother going anywhere else. read more

My husband had a rebuilt transmission (8K) put into his car here. TEN DAYS and it failed. No offer from this shop to pay for a rental while they try to figure it out and fix what is a supposed to be a "lifetime warranty" and apparently no one willing to step up and make sure a customer who just spent 8K here a few weeks ago can get to work. Oh, and we waited WEEKS for the rebuilt to be sent to the shop. And they took more than a week to install (Monday-- the Following Wednesday). Beware. read more

Great people! I was in a real pinch with a completely flat tire when I pulled into their parking lot. Who I believe was the owner, explained that they don't do tire repairs. However while I was outside making calls to figure out next steps, he came out with his tool box and air compressor. He graciously plugged the hole and filled my tire with air, then pointed me in the direction of a tire shop. He kindly declined the cash I was more than happy to give him. He simply paid me a smile and assured me I'd be safe making it to the next stop. Thank you sir, for your help and more importantly for reviving my faith in good hearted people! read more

Hey have done replacement service on alot of our company trucks. They stand behind there work. Highly recommend them.

i have taken several Vehicles to them over the years. There honesty is a breath of fresh air. They perform free transmission evaluations as well I have been told several times that a vehicle needs no work or something small and simple like a wiring harness i most recently had my vans transmission flushed with them and there technicians noted that 2 cooling hoses where Cracking and since i probably won't look at the transmissions for another 45000-5000 miles he recommended replacing both of them i thought here it is up-selling me well it was only $40.00 extra bucks he said its already on the lift it will only take a min $40.00 for 2 cooling lines is a great price this guys are the best and i go out of my way to bring all my personal and commercial trucks to them for any transmission maintenance. read more

Took my truck to Whitcraft just Knowing that I needed a new transmission. Codes indicated all kinds of internal transmission problems, etc. Knowing this would be a $3 or 4 thousand dollar hit, I prepared for the worst. Whitcraft looked at it the same day I brought it in and called me to say it was just a wiring problem they had repaired and under $200 I was out the door with everything running perfectly. They could have hosed me but they were honest and fast. My man Greg at the desk is very personable and although busy, takes the time to listen to your issues and make positive suggestions. Whitcraft is my new favorite place to send people with any transmission issues. read more

They gave me an accurate estimate and a reasonable pick up time. Car seems to be working fine

Horrible service, complete ignorance and little knowledge of mechanics. Took my truck to get the front ball joints replaced and to get my A/C hose either replaced or for them to find and fix the leak. I told them that adding Freon won't fix it because it leaks out after a day. So they say it would be a total of $450. They call me saying it's ready the next day. So when they talk to me they said that my truck doesn't have ball joints so they can't replace them. (I mean really? I can point them right out but they don't even know what basic suspension parts are) they also said that they added Freon to re-charge the A/C and that now it works. (I told them not to do that because it just leaks out. Then finally they just went ahead and replaced my rear brakes because they said they were starting to go bad, I already had the pads and rotors at home because I do that kind of stuff myself. They were not supposed to do that and they never asked me first!! So my bill was a little over $900!!! Ridiculous!!! Don't go here, these mechanics, well can't even really call them that are worthless and will rip you off. BTW the following weekend I replaced my ball joints myself, you know the parts that they said "don't come on my vehicle" hahaha read more

This is my first ever review- but I had to take the time for this. I thought I had a transmission problem, not only did they tell me I had nothing wrong with my transmission, but they fixed something minor for free. My car was hesitating, which turned out to be just a tune up, but I was sure they would come back with a hefty list. You hardly ever find an honest company these days, so I wanted to be sure to get the word out because these guys deserve to be recognized!! Thanks so much! read more

Watch out for the "bait and switch" operations with this place. I took my car into have the transmission looked at back in July 2019. They verbally quoted me $2500 to rebuild the transmission. When my transmission finally went out two weeks ago, I dropped it off to be rebuilt trusting they would honor their previous quote. They called me later that day and Greg told me it would be $3100 and that they would not honor the previous quote of $2500. I did not have time to tow the vehicle to another transmission shop and told them to perform the work. Once the work was completed, I picked up the vehicle and I complained about the change in quote and asked to see the 1 year 12000-mile warranty on the completed work in writing. Greg pointed out the warranty printed on the receipt, but, told me it doesn't matter what it states because they would not honor it anyway because of my attitude laughing at me as I walked out the door. read more

Thought the transmission on my 07 Fusion was completely shot. Whitcraft did a free estimate, found out it was something simple, didn't suggested unnecessary work, fixed car in one day and it has never run better. Great customer service too. read more

My jeep was diagnosed with a failing transmission from a dealership. I took it to Whitcraft and they quickly and expertly determined that it was simply low on transmission fluid and had two leaks. Their service truly saved me from buying a new car. I'm so grateful to them... Lesson learned... Always take my vehicle to Whitcraft first! read more

Our regular mechanic sent us to Whitcraft because he does not do internal transmission work. He prepped us by saying it was possible we would need an overhaul/rebuild of the transmission at around $2500. Whitcraft called me back same-day and said your lines are rusty and were leaking transmission fluid - easy fix, $300. I was so pleasantly surprised! They really could have charged me 8 times that much for unnecessary work and I never would have known. They were honest, fast, polite and so easy to work with! read more

Fantastic service. Diagnosed my transmission problem and confirmed the same as the dealer. I had them install a rebuilt transmission and it is working perfectly. They had it ordered and installed and ready for pickup in two days. Very professional, friendly service. This is the second car they have repaired for me and I wouldn't go anywhere else for transmission repair work. read more

Over the years I've taken two cars and three trucks here. Always been treated fairly and honestly - something that's very rare when it comes to just about any business these days, especially anything automotive. If it's transmission related, I won't take it anywhere else. read more
