Situated in the posh section of Jubilee Place (the posher side of shopping at Canary Wharf), close to the Heron Quays DLR exit end, this particular branch of Whistles is somewhere I feel I can only even step through the door on a good hair/skin/body day and wearing my best clothes.
I'm afraid to say it's relentlessly snooty, which is a shame, as I generally go there when I actually want to buy something in particular, so it's all money in the till. I also find it strange that any retail unit can still afford snobbishness about who walks through the door in these credit crunched times.
Artily decked out, the dark wood and self consciously subdued lighting often make it difficult to get a true idea of colours, and accessories (my usual purchase from here) are half hidden in concept displays.
I'd rather pop to the St. Christopher's Place branch, frankly. read more
