Whistle Stop Magic The Whistle Stop Gourmet Coffee & Eatery! There's nothing like it anywhere We were blessed with the most amazing food, service, great conversation, and live piano music Such fun swapping piano stories with Julian -- he's been playing since before TV sets! Truly a remarkable man. Huge thanks to Marti and her wonderful family for such a beautiful and unforgettable lunch experience! #whistlestopgourmetcoffee #Blessed #GoodFoodGoodFriends #PianoVibes #SmallTownCharm #GratefulHeart #PlantCityEats

Small town nostalgic railway stop. Time slows down-so dont expect to just grab and go. Sit. Relax. Be patient. Soups and sandwiches. Handmade bread. Reasonable kid menu items. Sign posted inside: "we don't pretend to be fine dining. If you have a reservation, you're in the wrong place." Going between Orlando and Tampa/St. Pete: a great place to grab a quick lunch. They are only open for lunch Tuesday-Sat(subject to change when they go on vacation).

We stopped by after a wedding venue tour. The girls and I seated ourselves at the high top table in the window corner. It was busy with people from the car show but we had drinks rather quickly. We ordered stuffed tomato ($12.50), Chicken Caesar Sandwich ($11.99), Bread bowl with Potato bacon soup ($5.50) and soup with half sandwich ($10.99) and a side of bread because it is made in house and delicious ($0.75) We enjoyed the piano music and the train running around the track. Marti came around and greeted each of us with a welcoming hug and huge smile. Our food came out quickly and it was amazing, the fresh bread, cream soup and a great tomato with Martis chicken salad. We always enjoy our meals here, yes they may be busy but it is a family business and we so support them!!!

The food is a delight; the menu is varied and full of flavor. It's a family business, and the people are kind and friendly. I ate the Brightline Chicken Pasta, which was exquisite.

Inside shot after we got done with an awesome meal. Second time in the area so second stop.

Second stop and had to do it as a an early lunch so we could work it in while in the area. I checked my last post and had almost the same thing again. Great menu. Had the Rueben again but this time had the clam chowder and a delicious chocolate malt. Great service and awesome food. Small town nostalgia is the decor, the theme and the way of life here. They call the locals by name and this place is a locals favorite. Highly recommended. Live music while we ate today.

We did lunch on National Chocolate Cake Day (Jan 27). We got to eat outside and enjoy the perfect weather. I had the Plant City salad dish and my wife had her usual veggie sandwich. Both were very good. But what was great was the chocolate/ peanut butter cake for dessert. It was only $3.95 and one of the best cakes I have had in a long time. If you go, get that cake if it is available.

My wife and I stopped in here for lunch one Tuesday afternoon. The charm, friendly service and good food will have us coming back for more. Whistle Stop was busy for lunch this weekday. We grabbed a table pretty quick and our server came around to get us drinks. We just got water. Whistle Stop is simple and fits perfectly in downtown Plant City. The red and white checkered table cloths, counter seating and even a model train track running around the roof just brings you back. Back to a time before me but one I appreciate and have come to love. Our server was attentive and kind. The friendliest server I've likely ever encountered. He got us waters and then was back promptly to get our food order. I think he was handling the entire place table-wise. I got the turkey Rueben and my wife got the Cuban. I stuck with the standard Lays potato chips and a pickle for the side. My wife opted for their potato salad and kept the pickle. The food was out quick. The bread is baked fresh in-house each day. My Reuben was on Rye and it was really good. The fresh turkey was covered in sauerkraut and thousand island dressing. It was warm and melty. Zingy and tasty. I enjoyed it and made quick work of the sandwich. My wife said her Cuban was excellent as well. The pressed sandwich was hot with top-quality meat on it. Not overly stuffed but a perfect amount for a lunch. She said the potato salad was really good too. It had decent chunks of potato. It had a more mustard-based sauced. That's my favorite and the one bite I got will have me choosing that next time too. I loved our little lunch here. This place keeps it simple. Their menu has quite a bit to offer and there are plenty of things I saw that I want to go back to try so, we will be back.

    Nice atmosphere

Luckily there was a lot of outdoor seating, so it wasn't too difficult to find a seat. I ended up getting the sweet blueberry wine, blueberry flatbread (had caramelized onions, arugula, and prosciutto with a blueberries glaze drizzle), and the blueberry shortcake. The wine was lightly sweet and not dry. The blueberry flatbread tasted more of the caramelized onions and the blueberry drizzle added a little hint of sweetness and tartness. My favorite though was the blueberry shortcake. It was soft and the blueberry compote was absolutely delicious. Although it was rich, it didn't feel heavy. I wish I had gotten another slice. In general, I've been here before and it's nice and cozy inside with great service! I love trying all the flavors available with their wine and beer flights (some are seasonal). Honestly, sometimes I buy their wine by the bottle in stores because it's actually just that good.

Service was great and so was the food. I got the sangria and the wine burger. Hubs got the tacos. Love their French fries too! The crispiness and the seasoning on them is just plain good. The wine burger was delicious and probably my fav entree they have.

The place is big inside and cute. Negatives: food options seem a bit limited, especially if you don't eat pork or lots of carbs/sugar. No fancy coffee drinks. I was going to try their corned beef hash but learned it was from a can instead of homemade. I went for the veggie & cheese omelet (minus peppers). There was no option on type of cheese, just American. The omelet was filled, which was nice, but it seemed at least the mushrooms weren't fresh and were also canned. The grits were pretty good, not sure why mine came in a bowl (which I liked). But my partner's were on the plate with his omelet. He ordered one with sausage, which he said was ok, but he didn't love it due to the type of cheese. We didn't try the coffee as we prefer cold brew or cappuccino, so we stuck with water. Our server was very nice and came back often. This just isn't really our type of establishment, so I do not see us returning or recommending.

We were told we could pick it up in 20 minutes and that's how far away it is from us. The parking lot was packed. I walked into a pretty busy restaurant. Dimly lit with lights, neon signs and TVs illuminating the high tops and bar. The pickup area is near the end of the bar. I walked over and was greeted. The food was ready and I paid. Everyone was friendly and the process was simple and quick. We headed home to dig in. This meal was definitely on the OK side. We ordered boneless wings, mini corndogs, and a side of fries. The mini corndogs were ok. Small bits of hotdog wrapped in the sweet yellow cornbread. The hotdogs were pale and didn't look all that appetizing. Seemed low quality. Nothing outstanding to us. The boneless wings were also ok. I'd imagine these would be better fresh in-house. They were warm. We each ordered the small size. What's weird is they charge "market price" for wings and the orders are done by weight. I think the small order was a half-pound. The meat was good, all-white meat, but the wings were small. The breading was ok. I ordered mine with honey mustard and garlic parmesan. The honey mustard was yellow, tangy, and sweet. The garlic parm kinda lacked flavor. My wife's wings were ordered bbq and medium. She was not a fan of the flavors. The fries held up ok. They were seasoned and mildly crispy. In the end, we regretted our heavy, fried meal and wished it had been a little tastier. I'd suggest giving this place a try but would urge you to dine in. Take-out fried food just doesn't hold up. If we were to try Duke's again, we would dine in but we're not in a rush to.

**INITIAL REVIEW**…read more To be frank, finding this amazing coffee shop was not on my to-do list when my aunt and I partook in the Henry's Hidden Trains trail/scavenger hunt made in cooperation with the Robert W. Willaford Railroad Museum which is also located in the heart of Historic Downtown Plant City. The trail/scavenger hunt took us to many popular locations/businesses in the area, but one particularly stood out the most for me, especially since I was hungry and thirsty after walking around and about in the sun of the area. One of the hidden trains is located near one of the particular entrances of an amazing coffee shop that has a mixture of delightfully tacky decor mixed with a steampunk aesthetic, Krazy Kup. And through this "find," I "found" an amazing coffee shop that I am so happy I took the time to step into... or should I say my growling stomach made me step into it. Though an address is provided, Krazy Kup is located just south of the eastern half of McCall Park. If it further helps out, the aforementioned train museum is northeast of this coffee shop. Starting with the parking situation, the north parking directly in front of Krazy Kup is a one-way in, one-way out. Take that into account if you want to park right in front of the coffee shop. There is public parking, especially around the park, that is not too far of a walk to Krazy Kup, too. There is also an entrance in its back (south) with a bust of King Louie and more parking near there, too. Pertaining to the outdoors, there is also a unique "alleyway" right next to the restaurant that serves as their outdoor seating area, or at least a larger area of outdoor seating compared to the two small tables in front of the coffee shop. Inside, the ambiance has a light tackiness that is quite adorable mixed in with some mild steampunk elements. The numerous Christmas lights definitely adds to the ambiance. My aunt and I did not stay too long to really absorb the ambiance, but it was surely beautiful. Actually, we absorbed the air conditioning more as walking in the sun for Henry's Hidden Trains can be taxing. I didn't get much pertaining to food and drink, but what I did get: delicious! First and foremost, my drink order was a seasonal drink, the apple spiced latte. It helped wash down the amazingly large biscotti. I had the chocolate-dipped hazelnut biscotti with my drink. Now I have to return (one day) to enjoy more on Krazy Kup's menu. Definitely want to try some of their wraps and "Krazy" sandwiches, especially the breakfast sandwich. For my initial review, I am going to give Krazy Kup four-out-of-five stars for their review. The visit was quite short, but it made such an impact with the short time I spent there with the little I bought. But with what little they gave and provided, it was mighty enough to earn its way. I will definitely recommend to others to at least come in and enjoy the simple pleasures, coffee and baked goods with the ambiance. And when I return, if Krazy Kup is consistently good, just like last time, I will give them their fifth star for consistency.
