This is the place to be on a Saturday night! Fun atmosphere and quick drinks! The staff was super friendly. It gets busy quick here but it was so much fun!

I like this bar. Tasty drinks. Fun music. Apparently a lot of piss on mens bathroom floor but those may be rumors. I am not a man.

I used to go to Whistle Stop bar every few months many years ago. I had friends who lived nearby and would go to various music events there. I hadn't been there in years, until last week. My friend and I decided to go last minute last Friday night for a Morrisey/Smiths DJ dance night. We arrived about 10 PM and place was pretty packed. People were dancing and singing along to the songs and having a great time. Despite the crowd, it never took long to get a drink. I liked that they had a pretty decent bar. I drank Revolt rose' wine on tap all night. They had a variety of beer, wine, cider and cocktails. Everyone was in a good mood. I loved how the DJ mixed in similar types of music from different eras. The crowd was friendly and some of them were regulars. Even though it was crowded on the dance floor, we always found space to dance. The ladies room was small and a bit awkward, but I also never had to wait very long in line. All in all, I had a blast. It was a great atmosphere, with great music and decent drinks at decent prices. I will certainly be checking out the music calendar

The 80s/90s/Y2K Dance Party at this bar was insanely crowded! I came here with 3 friends to burn some calories after dinner. While we had a great time and enjoyed the music, we all agreed the bar was way over packed and jammed with people. There were people dancing at every nook and cranny, half of them completely wasted. I had countless bodies rubbed up against mine and had beer spilled on me multiple times. People were dancing with their drinks and with the heavy crowd, drinks were splashed everywhere! I felt dirty when we left! This was a fun experience for $10 per person, but I'm not so sure I would come back due to the uncontrolled crowd.

Good people, good drinks, and always a good time. A fantastic dive bar for South Park locals, whistle stop has so much to offer. They've got a variety of events and musical groups performing to peak your interest. You can go for just a casual beer with friends or spend the night dancing away to 80s & 90s classics. One of my favorite times to go is on Fridays when they have a Japanese Mexican taco fusion pop up out front (they're called Binchos, go follow them now!!) and hang out right outside with a rotating cider from the bar. The bartenders have all been so sweet and genuine, you never feel like you have to fight for their attention but rather they want to have a conversation with you. What's also great is you usually don't pay cover either (I mean as you should). I hope this place continues to be a home away from home for everyone in the community.

Ask the Community - Whistle Stop Bar

What about parking around 7:30pm?

It's pretty bad. You will need to park blocks away like near Grape Street Dog Park area.

I noticed some pictures that said "cash only." Is that still the case for this location or do they accept credit/debit cards now?

Nah, they accept cards

What's the food policy? Do they sell snacks? Are you allowed to bring in outside food?

Yes! You can bring outside food! :)

Is booty basement a little dressy or casual for girls?

It is super casual

Pro tip: mention the name Lee at the door for free popcorn all night. (Okay, fine. The popcorn's already free. But now you've got an excuse to say Lee's name with confidence.) He went to the restroom and us girls went to ours, they're in the same hallway & you have to pass the women's restroom to get to the men's. As I was exiting the girls bathroom he walked directly past me and I trailed behind him, then all of a sudden I hear one of the girl bartenders ask him to leave because she said she saw him exit the women's restroom. She was LOUD & reactive, like she was 100% sure she saw that, she grabbed 2 of the security guards & asked to get him out because she saw him come out of the girls restroom. WHICH WAS A LIE!! It was humiliating & if she would've just ran back the cameras she would see that is absolutely NOT what happened. It was unprofessional, ridiculous,& tasteless. I get you have to be aware in these situations but she was SO WRONG in this particular instance I was appalled. Therefore if the manager or owner would like to run back tapes on January 30th around 12 am, they will see he did not exit the women's bathroom. I really hope there's some type of repercussions for type of accusation.

My husband and I are sucker for divey spots and the Old Town Saloon looked EXACTLY like our vibe. It definitely was a cool spot and not sticky or on the dirty side like a lotta dives, but still had that classic dive feel to it. We had different bartenders both days we came, and both of them were great. Not too talkative but still really nice and quick to get our drink orders. Like most of Old Town, the Old Town Saloon is themed to fit the rest of the area. They have TouchTunes here so you can play plenty of music, and also at least one pool table (I only saw one, not sure if there were more around the corner). Only "downside" is that they don't have any food here, but you're allowed to bring food in (which we did from a local vendor). If you're in the area it's definitely worth it to stop in for a drink or two - we could've spent all day here and would definitely stop in again when we're back in town.
