We were traveling back from Eastern WA and wanted to break up the trip & needed 1 night accommodations. We located this RV park online as they had availability for arrival on a Thursday/departure on a Friday. Contact was made and it went extremely well as they were very knowledgeable and recommended the best way to maneuver our long 5th wheel into a spot that was adjacent to the pond. It was super easy to find. Layout was well planned out. The spots were plentiful. The pond is amazing for dogs. The pathways around the park - including to the Yakima River were well kept. This RV park is located near many outdoor activities. Kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, canoeing, hiking and cycling. There is a large pond in the park that you can use for calm water activities. Our grandsons had a blast making friends, cycling and paddle boarding. There is plenty to do right here at Whispering Pines. There is a bounce pad, two nice playgrounds, a dog area, and as I mentioned before, the pond. The sites are large, level and nestled amongst the trees. There is plenty of wildlife for your viewing enjoyment. The park does have many rules in place for everyone's safety; and they do drive around in their little carts to enforce them. *Mind your manners and you shouldn't have any problems. read more

DO NOT CAMP HERE. I have paid $183 to stay here this weekend 9/26-9/28/2025 and due to the massive Forrest fires and closed pass, I tried to cancel our reservations 56 hours before arrival. Granted they have a 72 hr no refund policy. I get that. Considering the bad fires and closed pass to get there I was hoping there would be some grace. I feel the circumstances warrants some flexibility in policy. They said NO. Would not even consider it. I informed them do don't cancel my reservation then as they are NOT refunding me and IF the fires die down then maybe we could still go. I then asked if they would considering a comp weekend to enjoy later in the year since they won't refund me considering the circumstances. They would NOT respond to that request but informed me if I did not arrive Friday they would cancel my reservation and still KEEP my $183 for the entire weekend. Not ethical. Not good customer service. This was my first experience with them. I will never stay here in the future. *****UPDATE****** This morning 9/27/25 Whispering Pines RV Park DID issue a refund. It's unfortunate I had to go to these lengths to get what was reasonable under these circumstances, which I have never posted on social media in this way before in my life. I am grateful that the owner acted quickly by reading the posts, reading all the email exchanges and talking to his staff about those and the phone calls made and that he refunded us our money. This place is great ! Clean well maintained this is my first time staying here. campsites are all good from what I can tell a few on the pond are awesome! Amazing for kids and adults and it's only two minutes from downtown Cle Elum! I will say I'm very snobby about my campgrounds . They have everything you need on site plenty of activities clean bathrooms . Also it's gated so you need a code to go in and out! Overall, great experience will be coming back next year! read more

Wonderful campground surrounded by the Yakima river. Great WiFi that actually worked in just about any area of grounds! Great pull-through sites as well as back In sites for all size RV and campers. Pump house if needed for grey water and septic. Kids bouncy jumping pillow and also a 2-acre pond. Horseshoes pits, a walking trail, bike rentals, ice and propane available. Dog park but also an off-leash area. Store had just about anything you might need and 24 hour secure entrance. This campground has fun for all ages but was also very quiet. Nice wooded sites. Our site was a full hook-up site; they also have some that are water and electric only, and some dry camping sites. Nice river walk trail along the Yakima River, about 3/4 mi long from start to finish. There also is a small pond. Gated entrance, so controlled traffic through camp. Fenced dog park. Laundry room is clean. Machines are older, and small, but was only $1.00 to wash and $1.50 to dry. There are only 3 machines, but I washed several loads over the course of the week and there was always a machine available. The WiFi was spotty, but worked well overall. Only negative is the freeway noise and noise from the trains that come by 6 or 7 times a day & night and blow their horns. But was only mildly annoying, could ignore it most of the time. I don't know that I would stay here again, but it was a nice stop. read more

Meh. Good stop if passing through, but doesn't seem like a vacation destination. To each their own. Pros: safe place to sleep, wide and long sites with hook-ups and dry camping options, nice employees, close to freeway, laundry and restrooms on site, near a Safeway and Dollar Store. Cons: rough, overgrown grounds, rustic sites, dog park is just a fenced square in an uneven, spiky, dirty patch of forest with a pit and loads of decomposing leaves, distant train noise through the night, low traffic noise, fast moving River is just over a slight ridge, doesn't look safe for swimming or boating but I suppose you can fish. Did see fisherman trying. I'm glad we stayed just to sleep. It was fine. Would we come back to Cle Elum? Don't think so. The drive between Seattle and Cle Elum was gorgeous though. read more

Great spot along the Yakima River. The park was well laid out, lots of activities for the kiddos and we felt very safe there. The bathrooms could use some updating and more consistent cleaning, but generally everything worked as expected. If we come back this way, we'll stay again. read more

This is a beautiful, well maintained and convenient location. The staff really went out of their way to accommodate us with an early check-in (for a small fee) to keep us on schedule for weekend of wedding festivities. We have traveled over 1400 miles in 9 days and stayed in 6 different Thousand Trails RV parks along our journey - Whispering Pines by FAR out shines our first 6 stops. Our site is huge, private, peaceful and very restful. the only comment, which is really nothing, is you can sort of hear I-90 when outside, but I just told myself it was a rushing river - ya that's it! We don't stay in RV parks often because it's not the way we like to travel. More often than not the campsites are on top of each other. Whispering Pines RV park was an exception they had everything we needed laundry showers, dump (two!) and beautiful trees surrounding each space. They even have a lake you can swim in! The most relaxing time. Pond you can swim in or just sit and watch the activities. We have been twice this year and love it. You can walk into town or take a trip over to Rosyln also. Awesome RV Park! Has full hook ups and tent camping! The RV spots are spaced out so you have room and your not right next to your neighbor. The bathrooms are clean! The recreational room has a fuse ball table,Big Screen Tv, books, and a full kitchen! It's relatively quiet we can hear traffic during the day but we're right by the front; I did not notice at night! The cable is nice,and the WiFi is decent. The staff was friendly and informative! The Yakima river is right behind us! What more could you want! read more

Love this park! Nice, big, shaded sites on the river. Lots of trails to walk our dogs and a pond for them to swim in. We've been here a few times and keep coming back. There aren't a lot of sites with full hookups but we've never had trouble reserving one. My only negatives would be that the WiFi is sometimes spotty and the sites could use some leveling. read more

Three years ago, I had a frig go "poof" in my RV while I was staying at the RV park next door. What luck! Having one's RV go poof with a repair place next door. They were able to order my frig (took a week!) and get it fixed. They have a good supply of RV parts if you need any. read more

The trees and surrounding areas are nice. Beautiful mountains and craggy cliffs around. Unfortunately, it was difficult to reach the office but they did answer one out of the three attempts. When I specifically asked for a clear view of the southern sky for satellite I was given a spot that the proprietor said would work. Not even close. They did have 50 amp service which I had asked about, but surprisingly no sewage was there when we arrived. It would have been nice if that was pointed out. I guess you can only ask so many questions, and therefore hope that the staff fills you in on the noteworthy details. Access is more difficult for the big rigs. It took 10 to 15 minutes of jockeying back and forth to get into our spot. read more

The campground is under new ownership and they have been busy! They offer more camping options and a movie night. The place is clean and some upgrades. We loved our stay and love the improvements. Please note that one of the changes is that you must arrive before 10:00 PM to set up camp. If you arrive after that you can stay in the parking lot. The campground has a gate for entry now. We have stayed here twice this summer. What a great place. While it is fairly close to I-90, it isn't disturbing or bothersome. It is close to town and the sites are very good. There is shade, full hook-ups with cable. The staff are VERY kind and accommodating. It is on the river and there is a very nice river walk. The bathrooms and shower areas are always very clean and neat. They have a very nice building to reserve for group meetings. It is very dog friendly. First time at this campsite. We were a bit apprehensive, especially after reading a few of the reviews but thought we'd give it a try. I love Cle Elum and consider it one of the most beautiful, peaceful places around. We were coming from SeaTac and it didn't take us long to get here, which is always welcome when you're traveling to a campsite. Here's my pros and cons about this place and I'll be really very fair, which is what i always try to do with place we stay at. Pros: it's close to town without actually being in town, which is a plus, but you're close enough if you need to go into town for anything; quite a few of the sites are near to the river. The view is absolutely beautiful, with wooded forests across the river and in autumn it's spectacular. The people working there were very nice. The place was clean. There were solar lights set up on trees that lit up when you walked to the bathroom at night. Cons: the store onsite is very minimal and consists of mainly items that you might need for your trailer/RV and it closes at 5:00 or at least did when we visited. The sites are close together and don't allow for a whole lot of privacy. There are no fire pits either which was a huge bummer. The bathrooms are old and could use some work but they worked just fine and were warm (pros and cons on this one); make sure you have quarters too, it's 75 cents for 9 minutes. As i mentioned there are solar lights when you walk to the bathroom at night but there are clearly not enough and you don't feel very safe walking alone even if it is an RV camp. Many of the sites allow multiple cars, which is great, however when we pulled in, the site next to us had a van parked so close to the road that we had to go and ask them to move so that we could pull into our site. Hence, the closeness of the sites. Many of the sites do not have sewer which is again a big bummer, it's really very convenient to have this. Also, we noticed that this is a park that allows permanent residences, if that is something that you don't like, take note. there is a centralized grilling area that anyone can use and a fire pit also. There is a game room that has minimal items to use; they seem to have a movie night and other events that they put on for the park. To be fair and according to past reviews, the people here have done some work on this place. I think they are on the right path. There is an entry gate that requires a code and an exit gate to lets you out also. Would we come back again, quite possibly. It is not pricey, the views along the river are beautiful and it's in a great area. I think that if the owners continue their efforts, this could be a really nice place to be at. read more

What can I say but that these people are over the top wonderful! They went out of their way to assist my daughter and I last winter when we got stuck in an RV over Nov. and Dec. They helped us learn how to change propane tanks and came out in the snow for any small emergency that came up. The park has great ammenities like showers and washer/dryers, and everything is kept really clean. It is right on the river and there is hiking, swimming, and fishing all within walking distance of the park. Lots of trees - a very pretty setting. Altogether, if you are passing by you really must stop here. read more

We visited 8/16 - 8/19. The RV park is a pretty good place, we went there for a test-run with our new RV so it was a good place, close to home, for that purpose. The pluses of this park are that the sites are large, level and clean. It's pet-friendly place, with plenty of walking trails. They have a smallish, fenced off-leash are for the dogs, but it is not shaded, has no grass and seems freshly cleared with stubs of plants, roots and small tree stumps. It is very definitely still a work in progress. We had a very spacious site at the back of the park, next to the river, well-shaded with trees for most of the day. Being next to the river, we had water and power, but no sewer hookup. There is a dump station to use on the way out of the park. The newer shower and bathroom facilities were very clean and well-kept. Showers are 75 cents for an eight minute shower. They have a nice clubhouse area with indoor and outdoor facilities. The owners are very nice and very helpful. The location is very close to town, and a good jumping off point for day-trips to Leavenworth, Wenatchee or Ellensburg. The only drawbacks to this campground are the noise from I-90 and from the trains that run through CleElum at night. In our spot next to the river, while it is a pretty spot, the noise from I-90 is very loud. Loud enough that pretending it was the rush of the river just didn't work. In the middle of the night the trains that go through CleElum blast their horns, which I'm sure is a safety requirement albeit a very loud one. These things are of course beyond the control of the campground hosts, but were a real downside to our experience. read more
