    EVEN Hotel Norwalk - Snacks

    EVEN Hotel Norwalk

EVEN is still our preferred hotel when visiting CT but there have been times where I had questioned…read morewhether or not this hotel is going down hill/not being kept up. We're now thinking of trying another hotel branch next time. The dog bowls/treat station are always dirty and never filled up. I don't let my dog drink from public water bowls. However, we arrived and I saw the water was 1/3 filled. The next morning, same water. Usually they're empty when we come in but pet friendly isn't a word I'd call EVEN. Especially now that they raised their prices to $100 per pet stay. My husband came up to Norwalk during a quick visit and had a tick on him from the bed. Another stay, a group of people were hanging out by the elevators (which our room was next to) and they were having a party at 1am. It was so loud. I called the front desk and they immediately came up and told the people they need to leave and they can't be doing this. It sounded like the staff knew these people and they have done this before. And don't get me started on the elevators. Being that we visit CT 2-3 times a year, we noticed the right elevator has been broken every visit. It's like they're refusing to fix the problem. EVEN is just not the same as it used to be. The nickel and diming while not taking care of the property is just sad.

I had reserved a room with king sized bed but when i arrived I was told that they only had double rooms available. This was something I've never experienced in all my years of traveling but I told her the double room was fine. This hotels overall concept of staying active while traveling was new and refreshing. But personally I would've preferred a microwave in my room rather than work out equipment. There is a microwave on the first floor but by the time you get back to your room your food is cooled off. My room (362) was comfortable but not as quiet as I would have liked. Every sound that was made in the hallway was loud and clearly heard in my room. I never heard anything from the rooms next to me but the sounds and conversations from the hallway, day or night, were annoying. The rooms were clean and housekeeping came regularly unless you used the do not disturb hang tag. The lobby is huge and there is plenty of work areas but it seemed like every customer wanted to make use of the corner I picked to work in when I was there. If I visited CT again, I would only choose this hotel if I could get the same rate. Over $100.00 a night I would definitely need a hotel with quieter rooms.

The Inn is located behind the beautiful Longshore Golf course. The outside looks like a quaint New England Inn and boasts spectacular views of the Long Island Sound. The view from inside the large reception/ dining area with its floor to ceiling windows is wonderful, ideal for watching a sunrise or sunset anytime of year. Or full moon! The space fit many tables and also left a spot for dancing. The tables were tastefully decorated. The ou'dourves were fresh, unique, and delicious and the staff were professional and courteous. The desserts served were undeniably fantastic. There were 2 bars available and the bartenders kept things moving well. I would jump at the chance to return and would highly recommend.

I certainly attended some excellent indoor formal events there, and occasionally I went there casually to the back bar to socialize, and I definitely played a good amount of golf there as well. I absolutely liked the place a lot! Very beautiful!

Excellent second yearly stay at the Norwalk Inn and Conference Center…read more No Yelp review made last year at this time but the place is still immaculate and clean from outside to inside and top to bottom. Checked in at counter with two well-groomed and articulate gentlemen. Both men including Alfredo, were there to offer warm greetings - always a nice feeling when checking in to any stay. The room was tidy and welcoming and bed comfortable - all the electronics and bathroom were in good working order. Breakfast in the dining room was excellent with delicious coffee and perfectly done bacon and eggs. The orange juice was adequate but perhaps a fresh orange juice option might be a welcome addition. Checkout was easy and morning staff friendly despite busy ongoings in the lobby. The staff is obviously well trained and do take pride in their establishment and service and there seems to be little turnover of personnel. Consistently excellent, congratulations to owners, management and staff - highly recommend.

Rude and impatient customer service and completely different quotes from three representatives at…read morethe same location. Called and spoke to one gentleman for almost half an hour trying to set up an extended stay. After getting a quote he attempted to take my credit card but then said he would need to transfer me due to his computer not working. He transferred me to a woman with zero patience that interrupted me continuously as I tried to explain the conversation I was having with the first representative. She kept angrily saying I needed to talk to customer service , no clue what her department was, before cutting me off and transferring me to a third agent. The third agent then started my quote over from scratch and the quote was double what the first agent offered. He too was short with me and kept trying to "lock in" his rate, ignoring my frustration. He suggested the first quote wasn't close to reality. (Maybe why the first representative suddenly had computer issues) I attempted to call customer service to lodge a complaint, was hung up on the first time, and the second time I was sent to a new representative that tried to help with a third quote that was less than the second but much more than the first. Pricing seems deceptive and arbitrary and none of these representatives seemed to care one way or the other to be helpful. Definitely nothing to recommend here.

The toilet paper in the bathroom feels like sandpaper, the towels look and feel like they were prison issued, and the blanket we received was paper thin. The hotel itself was quiet, clean, friendly staff and a quaint lobby. It wasn't the fanciest rooms by any means and we could definitely tell a difference when we stayed at the Ritz in NYC the next night, but it met our needs and the price was right. My kids have a habit of leaving their belongings behind and this time it was a kindle and a charger. I realized when we were on the train the next day headed to NYC and called the hotel. They located both right away and sent them to us, which was much appreciated. We have friends in the area so could be likely we'll need a hotel in the area again and I would consider this Courtyard again!
