I had the Chicago Style Hot Dogs w/Freedom Fries, and my buddy went with the Pony Horseshoe (still a big portion!). Both hit the spot. Service was solid and attentive, especially since we were on a tight schedule. Great place to grab a bite and catch a game in Springfield. Would definitely stop back in.

I said, let's just roll with it we are already here and order whatever they do serve; which turned out to be only frozen pizzas. I will say the frozen pizzas are handmade first and then frozen much different than what comes to mind when you think of a frozen pizza. The service was great, the bar is very unique in decor and ironically the frozen pizza was absolutely outstanding. If all you are looking for is a neat place to grab a drink and a slice of pie Crows is the ideal spot!

October 30, 2025. I'm so sorry to write a negative review; I really don't like to complain,…read moreBUT... I had picked LONG 9 for lunch for a monthly lunch meeting with friends as I'd been there 4 years ago and the restaurant was quiet and comfortable and lunch was good. It's still a lovely, quiet restaurant and so nice to be able to hear a conversation....but the food today was horrible!! The waitress was personable and friendly. I ordered the small plate French Dip sliders. I should have refused what came. Menu says "sliced sirloin, carmelized onions...." What I got looked like the scrapings of hamburger bits from a too-hot grill (in fact, perhaps it was, as my friend ordered a burger and it was burnt). The meat scrapings were on 3 Hawaiian rolls with a smattering of grilled onions and cheese to hide it. A bowl of au jus came with it. I did manage to consume some by dipping it in the au jus but that was very salty and I lost my appetite quickly. What a disappointment! One of my friends ordered a hamburger (came with lots of fries); the burger was burnt but she ate parts of it. My other friend ordered salad (it was ok) and soup d'jour. The soup finally arrived 10 minutes after our meal and tasted canned. Her breadstick was hard and inedible in the middle--obviously stale and nuked. Awful! I can't begin to say how disappointed we all were. We left our waitress good tips because it was not her fault. She did offer to bring us something else to eat. We should have taken her up on the offer. Perhaps the "cook" could have made us decent sandwiches to take home? What a disappointment. We'd give it a negative star rating and we are not picky people. I sure would love to hear back from a manager about this!

The BBQ sounded intriguing,…read morebecause we had been craving BBQ and this place seemed like the only place in town that had a decent sounding menu. Upon walking in we sat at the far end of the bar and there was sign on the wall advertising a $5 drink special. We ordered 2 of those. I can't remember exactly what the name of the drink was, but the employee behind the bar had to go ask another employee and finally admitted that she had to look up the recipe. For what its worth, the drinks were good. We ordered fried curds to start, they came to us piping hot, fresh & crispy. A great start. We both agreed that the drinks were good, app was good, and we were excited for what was to come. We ordered brisket & coleslaw, and i can't remember what we had for our 2nd side. The BBQ was abysmal and the server knew it, she seemed ashamed to even serve it to us. It wasn't brisket by any means. It was chuck. The way the muscle fiber pulled apart was a dead giveaway. Chuck used to be called the "poor man's brisket", however, its no longer cheaper than brisket, but it is more forgiving in the smoker, and doesn't require as much trimming. If you're grinding your own burgers, you can re-use the brisket trimmings in the grind and not have too much waste, but if you're not doing that - buying chuck instead of brisket would just be the "lazy way out". Secondly, how did you manage to get chuck so dry?? It almost seemed like it wasn't cooked fresh and maybe was cooked in advanced and warmed to order. At any rate, retrain your staff and find a honest, hard working pitmaster who knows his beef cuts. If you're looking for BBQ - this place ain't it....
