Table side view

Can't beats: view , location and the Amber Beer - so good and drinkable! The rest was your average pub experience. No servers, order at the table via Toast app. We're from NYS so we had a little difficulty paying by card so we had to go up to the bar to place our order. Bartender was busy but thankfully happy to manually take our order. Food was alright - my husband's burger was good my chicken sandwich was underwhelming but, it's a pub so ‍. Everything needed a little more salt and pepper. It was fine!

Big Stoner DIPA on the CT River

Whetstone Station in Brattleboro, VT has been a family favorite when we're in the area. During Fall Foliage Season or during the Peak Bright Greens of the Season, the next to the CT River location has spectacular views. I've also occasionally found something like a Hill Farmstead on Tap. Our family was in the area today and we stopped in. This wasn't my favorite Whetstone Station trip, and I think a couple other people in our party felt the same way. The River view is always nice, but it's still a little early in the Spring for terrific views of the greenery. Also, there was no Hill Farmstead or something of a similar quality on tap. I got a Whetstone Big Stoner DIPA. It was pretty good, but not quite up to the IPA's I normally drink. Since I've last visited Whetstone, they've adopted the order and pay by phone at your table service model. You seat yourself. You get your own water and soft drink. They bring your food and beer, and they clean after you leave. That's the service. I've eaten at places with this service model, but not in a group and not in a restaurant that used to provide full service when I ate there. I didn't love it to be honest. When you go to pay on your phone, the tip defaults to 20% unless you choose a different amount. I'm still grappling with what I think the proper tip should be for this service model. It's substantially less service than I'm used to receiving. The food was OK. I tried the Vermont Country Cheddar Soup, the Chili and the Steak and Cheese Empanada. The Cheddar Soup had good flavor and texture, but it should have been hotter. The ground beef chili was OK, but unremarkable. The steak and cheese empanadas were decent, but I wouldn't order them again. In scoring Whetsone for this visit, the trick is deciding how much to weight the prime CT River location. There aren't many places with a cooler location, and the location gets 5 Stars. The food and service were each 3 Stars on this visit. This visit felt more like a 3 Star experience than a 4 Star experience. So Three Stars it is.

Eating at two places at once while drinking a beer? Yes please. We sat on the upper deck. The place was packed, which is expected on a weekend. Food was excellent, but we were a party of six. My husband and I were served our food after about 30 minutes of waiting: no problem at all. My daughter and her husband were then served their food 20 minutes later when we we're almost finished. We then proceeded to Saith another 30 minutes for my younger daughter and her husbands meal. I would have absolutely given this place a five star if it wasn't for the crazy, really unacceptable 1 hour and 20 minute wait for food. Great food, amazing views, but food delivery could definitely need some adjustment.

Traveling back home from a long vacation we decided to stop at the tik tok famous restaurant where half of the place is in Vermont and the other half in New Hampshirite. Very cool vibe. I like the history of the building and how they displayed that in photos around the place. The food was your typical brewery food. Everything was good. You have to order through your phone so that was kinda difficult. No match for super mom to handle while dad is off taking in the view of the water! Kinda pricy but typical for brewery. Also check out the gift shop. Everything in there seamed to be cheap!

Sample of updog chai stout!

Went here on a recommendation from multiple co workers and had to stop by during our trip to Brattleboro! My husband and I loved it here so much we legit went twice in one day- once for lunch and coffee and the other at night for some brews. Absolutely loved the ambiance! It was so cool to sit at a window seat overlooking the bridge and sit near the New Hampshire/ Vermont line denoted in the bar! Food is amazing! We loved the poutine especially but the cheddar ale soup was also equally as awesome! For brews we got the Vermont lager and I'm down brown ale. I absolutely loved the brown ale! I wish I was able to get cans of this but sadly they were out of stock when we went! I also loved how we were able to order mini 3 oz glasses to try for like $1-2 each. I was able to try the updog chai stout which was absolutely delicious as well! Totally try this place out if you're in the area! Definitely a staple of Brattleboro! Will be back!!

We stopped here for a precursor to a weekend event. The food was great! Burgers were cooked to order and the taste of the burgers was very good. We were also very appreciative of the prompt customer service and the interaction with the staff. They answered all of our questions regarding the variety of beers that were available. We were seated on the upper level overlooking the Connecticut River. Very stunning views. Highly recommend this when you're in the area!

What a great location! The view, the concept of the building being in two states, a fireplace, picturesque windows and a deck with heaters. The environment is a winner. My daughter had a pretzel. My husband and I shared cheddar ale soup, steak tips, station wings and poutine. My favorite was the poutine- cheese curds in the poutine... DELICIOUS IDEA! I want morejust typing this review remembering the flavor. Next- the cheddar ale soup. Simple yet tasty. The wings I felt lacked flavor and the steak tips many family enjoyed but I felt they were undercooked for my liking. Overall I really liked the menu choices here. There ae more things I would like to try. My husband was not impressed with the beer. He tried two and passed on samplers or buying beer to go. This says a lot for my husband.

Used to love this place, we would ride a long ways to get here. Not so anymore this will be my last trip. The last few reviews before mine summed up my feelings also. Slow service at Best no service more likely. Food came out cold, took a long time to get. Menu items nearly as good as the choices used to be. At least the food was edible this time last year when we came the food was Unedible. Such a great building, and such a great location. It's a shame what has happened to this restaurant.

Lower patio- one upstairs also

Giving it a 3 because we liked the beer but we didn't like the food and the interior had a funny smell - possibly too strong of a cleaner being used ? We started out on the lower patio but decided to move to the upper patio for better views. There is a second bar upstairs that possibly people don't know about ? Get up there - there are heaters there too ! Also we're looking to buy some merchandise since they have a good logo but there wasn't a great selection.

Great lunch on an awesome Fall day, sat for an extra bit just watching the scenery. Had the chicken sandwich which was fast, hot and excellent tasting. Service was good attentive and friendly bartenders. Will need to bring friends back here!

Snow Republic - Chili fries

Vermont is the pinnacle of cool establishments and chill vibes, and Snow Republic lives up to the…read moreVermont standard of great places to visit. Sometimes, after a day out in VT, you just need a beer. Or a sandwich. Or both. Or many. Snow Republic has got you. They have great sandwiches, beers, FRIES, and super friendly service. I love the open atmosphere, while giving ski cabin. There is a ton of space for everyone to hang out and relax while enjoying the offerings. When I next visit Dover, I will certainly make Snow Republic a stop and visit, for some fantastic fries if nothing else.

Looking for a spot to grab food and a beer this looked to the perfect spot. They are a dog friendly establishment so dog owners can know. Food wise they offered a variety of pizzas, burgers, fries, and other sandwiches. Beer wise was a little disappointing for our visit considering everything on draft was an IPA with a can option of a porter. I enjoy IPAs and know how popular the style is but at least have a couple other options available at all times. Can never go wrong with a light lager or pilsner and even a sour as well. Drink wise I grabbed The Magic Carpet Ride that was a Session IPA at 5% that packed a lot of flavor for the low ABV and my wife even liked it as a non-IPA fan. She grabbed the porter and thought it was alright but nothing memorable and not the best style for warm summer weather at times. Food wise she got their Luigi (grilled chicken sandwich) while I got their OG Chicken Sandwich (fried chicken). Her sandwich was good while mine was tasty yet one side of it tasted burnt and had a slight unpleasant taste to it. The sauce on it was really tasty though. We also split their cheesy bacon fries and they were loaded with bacon and cheese. The biggest knock was the fries themselves were cold from the start. Would likely pass on them next time. The overall vibe of the place was nice, had a rustic cabin woodsy feel to it as you'd expect for rural Vermont. The music being played though was tropical and it was a nice unexpected surprise. They had both inside and outside seating, outside was a little bit of a miss with the road being so close and noise of traffic. We did prefer inside overall. They also had many games you could play, a pool table, shuffleboard, and card/board games too. Overall I would say the food and beers knocked it down by one star but still worth visiting! Great vibes just not our favorite brewery.

This brewery is perched on the side of a mountain with one of the best views of the valley below. For a travel day during the winter travel season it was busy but not overly full. The place is cash only which is posted and they have an atm in the front room for ease. The mountain rustic decor matches the place and area. There was counter service for food and drinks. They had both canned cocktails, wine and locally made beers to sample. The beer selection is great if you like IPA's. We ordered two pizzas and both came out quickly from their in room wood fired oven and were absolutely delicious. Definitely worth a stop if you're traveling near by or during leaf peeping season

Firstly I will say they did have a sign saying cash only, but do have an ATM for those without any. It is also a place you sit yourself and then order at the bar. It is located at an absolutely beautiful scenic view and they do have some outside seating so you can have a brew and pizza with a nice view! Beer wise I enjoyed their All Day Drinker and it was a light and crushable brew with more malt than hops shining through. My wife got their lemon drop sour which was refreshing with a hint of tartness. They also had a cider as well as some IPAs and non-alcoholic options too. Pizza wise they had a good variety of options including some not so traditional choices. The prices ranged from cheese being $20 and going up to $25 for the most. Those not interested in pizza are out of luck unless the one salad sounds good to them though I will say. Since we had 6 people in our group we ended up choosing 4 different pizzas. Our selections were Meatiator (think meat lovers), Potato Pie (mashed potatoes, bacon, sour cream, etc), Honey Apple Pie (honey, apple slices, cheeses, bacon, ricotta, basil), and lastly Okie Dokie Artichoke (garlic oil, lemon marinated artichoke hearts, roasted red peppers, sausage, cheese, and red pepper flakes). It gave us a really good variety and like I said above our whole party enjoyed the pizzas. Had a great cook to it, with lots of toppings that packed in lots of flavor. The Okie Dokie may have been the crowd favorite while the Honey Apple Pie was the most surprising flavor. Leaned towards sweet with the honey and apples but wasn't quite dessert pizza. Great spot to come for a pizza and beer/drink while also taking in the nearby view!
