These guys did a great job for me. I have a classic BMW sedan with rare BBS wheels, two of which were badly bent in a slide. Several other wheel repair shops wouldn't touch them, but Wheel Techniques restored them to like-new condition in less than two weeks at a very reasonable price. I had written these wheels off as a lost cause, and can hardly believe that Wheel Tech was able to rescue them. I've already passed Wheel Tech's flyers to my mechanic and body shop, and to any other motorheads who I thought might want to know about the place. Can't understand the few negative yelps that have been posted. I'm very pleased with Wheel Techniques and will use them again! read more

Wheel Techniques is the place to go! Went in as a walk in for a bent wheel and they helped me right away and fixed it up within an hour. GREAT Customer service. John is awesome! read more

These guys have done work for me over the years and do a great job. Tom has been GREAT as well as all the staff. I personally have a hard time believing any negative reviews posted here. I have magnesium rims and they have fixed them when they have been able to. Once when one wasn't repairable he told me straight out and that is what I like. NO bovine scatology. Just an honest assessment. Some don't realize quality takes time. I'm willing to give them what they need to get it done right. read more

I have been taking my cars to John Mercurio and Wheel Techniques for over 20 years and I'm obviously satisfied with the specialized wheel repair work that they provide. They have performed chroming services, powder coating, and much more, all with great results. John is a great guy and his crew is very industrious. read more

I had a mildly damaged aluminum rim which caused air loss so the tire went flat. Called on a Friday and was informed that they were available for jobs just like this on Saturday on a first come first serve basis and, which should take less than an hour. I showed up at 9:00 and Dave examined the rim and indicated that it could be fixed shortly. I went to run some errands and came back in two hours and it was ready. The recommended a new tire as it was well worn and damaged from driving on it flat (which I was unaware of at the time). It was a reasonable recommendation. They don't sell tires so there wasn't anything in it for them. I have a new tire on the rim now and it's holding the air just fine so they did a good job at a reasonable price. All in all, my experience was good. The work appears to be good quality, was done on time, and was a reasonable price. read more

The Good- my wheel outer rims look good. The Bad - When I called and explained what damage there was and that they were BBS wheels I was quoted $125 per wheel, I ordered tires and had them sent to WT and scheduled the work. When my tires arrived I brought the car in and the guy said it would be $175/wheel because they're BBS. After a bit of back & forth and when I said I'd take my tires and go he said he'll talk to the boss, they agreed to do the work as qouted but I'd have to pay $30 mounting & balance, OK that's fine. Only problem is they warped all four brake disks when they cranked the wheel nuts to 110lbs(should be 80) Oh, I should have paid the extra $5/wheel to have them spec torqued, my bad! . The wheel balance is good to 60mph which tells me they didn't really balance them. They only fixed the outer rim, nothing done to the body of the wheel. read more

One of my relatives recommended me this place to get my rim crack fixed and refinished since scratching it from a curb a year ago. Once I got to the place I was taken care of right away and the staff was very friendly. They had given me a great and reasonable price on what it would cost to make my scratched rim looking new again and the repairs to the crack on the rim as well. They told me it would take about 24 hours to finish the job. I come in the following day and when I saw my rim I was fully satisfied with their work. My rim they fixed looked like if it was brand new and the crack was fully fixed up! I highly recommend you go check these guys out for all you wheel and tire needs! read more

Great job on stripping and powdercoating a set of Porsche rims, painting caps and lug bolts to match and mounting new tires. Professional, competent, on time, and fairly priced. I was referred to these guys by Sharkwerks in Fremont, who do some serious Porsche customization and track projects. I wanted to change my factory silver rims to black. There are various horror stories in the blogs (when aren't there tails of woe in blogs?) about wheels losing temper, though some seem related to stripping the existing coating with heat. Another shop said the "e-coating" would need to be sanded off by hand. Wheel Tech says they use a chemical stripping bath. I dropped off the wheels (with old tires), had Tire Rack ship the new tires there (they are a Tire Rack installer), picked up 3 days later, beautiful! $129 each to strip and powder coat wheels, $10 each for caps, $30 each for dismount, mount, balance. Also had them install black TPMS valve stems (from ShopTPMS). Only issue is they didn't completely mask some lug bolt threads, I need to clean that shit off so my next track day doesn't make it into black locktite. My wheels didn't need repair, so I can't comment on repair service. read more

Over the last several years I've done business with WT on numerous occasions. Overall I'm generally satisfied with the service and pricing which has been reasonable.. My collection of AMG Mercedes are driven hard on the street and track where they approach 200 mph. Obviously safety is a big concern and I am sufficiently confident in the skills of WT that I am comfortable turning my kids loose for Mojave Mile top end runs in a 700+ HP V12 AMG 65 using wheels refreshed by WT. Life is unfair and poop happens to wheels e.g. curbs jump out and rub the wheels or so my wife says. True that WT can seem scattered at times due to the press of business but that is how it is in auto repair shops of all kinds. I believe they mean well and try to satisfy customers - some of whom obviously do not appreciate how time consuming it can be to effect a safe and perfect appearing repair on an alloy rim. Not every job I've taken them has been done when originally promised and a few phone calls were not returned promptly; knowing that is the way it is I do not get upset and start ranting like some of the other reviewers. On one occasion my wife went there from Prunedale area to pick up a wheel that we were told was ready to go and, upon arriving, was told it actually was not ready. She was annoyed as was I so I called to complain. The owner was quite apologetic which is expected but then he told me he was having the wheel delivered to my home that afternoon. As promised, it was delivered and was perfectly repaired. Later today I'm taking a set of Corvette ZR1 wheels to WT for minor esthetic touch-ups so I can sell them as I no longer have the car. I do not place much credence in reviews by supposedly different customers that use the same or very similar abbreviations, profanity and over-the-top tone. I've been in the WT facility dropping off and picking up wheels over 20 times and have never seen or heard anything out of the ordinary for an auto repair facility. Several of the negative reviews sure sound like they have the same author who must have some issue with WT. Perhaps a jealous competitor. I suggest you readers give them a try and make your own decision. Sincerely, JHR LovedPet read more

Have known of wheel techniques for quite some time now. I bought an exotic with wheels all curbed. Brought them in and decided to get the color of the wheels from a silver to a gunmetal. I was really nervous when picking out the paint - John (owner) brought out a factory paint sheet and i found the color i wanted. Dropped the car off on a monday and picked up on a friday. Couldnt be happier! All the wheels were fixed to perfection and the color came out just the way i wanted - factory gunmetal. It looks like i have brand new OEM wheels - thanks for perfection! read more

They don't make the wheels I have anymore so I thought "what the heck?" I'll just stop by and see it they can be repaired before I sell the tires and throw the wheels in the trash. My wheels had curb rash on the lips, slighty bent on the outer lip, and the hubs were all out of alignment. (This is what happens when you buy used rims on ebay, BEWARE! Dave tells me he's got a guy every week bringing them bent wheels they bought off of ebay.) I went in there on a saturday and had Dave and Jeff take a look at 2 of the 4 wheels I wanted to have repaired. Surprisingly, they said they could be repaired, so I went home and grabbed the other two. I was a little sketchy about paying the full amount up front but Dave assured me that all the wheel would be good as new. Basically, they agreed to remove the curb rash, straighten the outer lip and hub, plus mount and balance the tires. He promised to have the rims back to me in 4 days. I called the day before to find out the progress on my wheels and Dave told me they would be ready Thursday, like promised. I read all the other reviews on Yelp and was kinda of worried about the quality of the repairs. So before I went to pick them up I asked Dave if he would put the wheels on the balancer so I could check the repair work. He told me "sure, he could do that". When I got there I was in awe at how the wheels looked! They were repainted to OEM finish, curb rash removed, and shinny as ever! I was speechless. Dave, put all four wheels on the balancer and they were perfect. I had no complaints. The only other thing I did after putting the wheels back on my car was to inflate them to the proper air pressure and see if they leak. So far two day, no leaks. I have to say the shop seems a little sketchy but they do know what their doing. I would do business with them again. read more

Found on yelp but heard through the grapevine this was the place to go. Had two wheels with curb rash and a minor lip bend. Was quoted a pretty competitive price over the phone on multiple calls. The cost was reflected in a description of the work. When i finally coordinated a trip to their shop i was quoted a higher price on each wheel. Although it wasn't significantly higher, i was still POd. This being said the wheels came out superb and were completed ahead of schedule. The finish and polish work were top notch. Id definitely go back but next time hold them to what they quoted me. This being said, working with this operation was a great experience. read more

I love the quality of work that comes out of this place and would have gave them 5 stars but there times they quote for there services are the reason i only gave them 3 stars ! I have delt with them 4 times on various parts ( no wheels ) and every time I dropped off stuff to be done they tell me 1 to 1.5 weeks and it always take at least double if not 3 times as long . If they where honest on the time frame from the get go i wouldn't be hesitant to give them 5 stars . Bottom line if you want great work go there just be prepared to wait .....like the old saying goes " GOOD THINGS COME TO THOSE WHO WAIT " read more

I was fortunate enough to crack a wheel the other day, so Five Point Tires recommended Wheel Techniques for the repair. I was quoted $150-200 over the phone. They advised me that on Saturdays they perform work on a first come first serve basis, which was perfect. NOTE - they only accept cash on weekends. I brought the wheel in on Saturday morning around 9:15 AM. There were three other customers ahead of me so I figured it would take awhile. Dropped off the wheel and went to get a haircut. I got back around 10:45 AM and it was already done. The repair doesn't look super pretty, but it's strong, holds air, and balanced out fine. I'm happy. read more

Not cheap, not too expensive, and I think they do a nice job. Given the amount of wheels coming on from dealerships and auto repair shops, these guys are the go-to place apparently. We fixed a nasty rim dent on aluminum wheel. $199 out the door. Vs $700 for new oem wheel. read more

David and the guys at Wheel Techniques showed their experience when I brought them my strange problem: I had recently bought a used BMW 760Li with 20" rims and Pirelli Run Flats. One tire would always leak down over night. Another leaked down one day, but never did again. The one that leaked all the time, I brought to Wheel Works and they checked it for nails and such and put it in water and as far as they could tell, it looked like the valve stem was leaking, so they replaced it. And then did it again, and again. It still leaked. No, I don't have chrome rims, and the one in question was not bent. Talking to Dave at Wheel Techniques about it, once they looked it over, he knew exactly what was up. They had found in the past this particular tire model had a strange fit due to the design of the bead on the tire itself--which would sometimes result in chronic air leakage. He recommended removing it and removing some of the rubber on the bead to better seat the tire. $75. At this point I was willing to try anything. I even asked them to keep it an extra day to ensure it would hold air for 24 hours. Once I got it back, it did lose a bit of air a few times, but generally held it for more than 48 hours. I chalked this up to the strange tire design. I mean, 3 of the others generally hold their air, but can randomly lose it. Now it's been more than a week without needing air. Needless to say, I am not buying these tires when it comes time to replace them, but at least I can drive them until winter because of the expertise of this shop. Thanks, guys. read more

THEY PROVE THAT EVEN A BAD SITUATION CAN BE HANDLED WITH EXCEPTIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! First off, almost every rim shop in a 45 minute radius recommends this place (me coming from gilroy). Second, even a worse case scenario can turn out ok. let me start by saying i have had two experiences with Wheel Techniques. the first time they fixed my bent rim on a Saturday in a matter of hours and i was extremely pleased. the 2nd time wasn't as great but still turned out ok. i went back for another rim (damn 19 inch rims on my TL). i dropped it off saturday monring, went to a snowboard convention in santa clara, and when i came back they were mounting my spare. so i instantly knew that something went wrong with my rim. in the process of heating up and bending it back, it cracked. WHEN TRYING TO FIX A BENT RIM KNOW THAT THERE IS A CHANCE THE RIM CAN CRACK, THIS IS THE RISK YOU ARE TAKING. Jeff, i believe, was sincerely apologetic, and broke down the situation and options to me. 1) he offered a complete refund 2) he could fix the rim (welding it) it would look ugly but be fixed for what i already paid 3) for an additional amount he would sand and powder coat all my rims so the welding would not be visible. i took the rest of the weekend to check out prices of new rims/tires and decided to go with the refund. i figured i might as well get 18's now, im tired of paying way too much for 19inch tires and dealing with bending rims. here is where he went above and beyond, i live in gilroy, and work in morgan hill (9-6pm). its a huge hassle for me to get to santa clara during the week, and still annoying to get there on a weekend. since a couple of the guys that work there live in morgan hill they were willing to bring me back my rim/tire/refund and meet me at my work. extra above and beyond: when i dropped of my car on that saturday i had a bag with me, a reusable shopping bag made from recyclable materials (something that looks like it can be tossed out). I accidentally left there when i was hit with the news that my rim was cracked. i didn't realize for a week and a half that my bag was missing. i called today and they still had it with all my paperwork in it. LIFESAVER, those were the lift ticket vouchers i bought at the snow convention. so long story short, they do a great job at repairing rims. even if the rim gets damaged they are willing to fix it for the same price, though its understandable that they have to charge to powder coat all 4 rims to cover the repair marks. i highly recommend this place. I hope i don't need to go back, but if i do, i will with a smile. read more

I was referred to WT by a major HIGH END wheel installer-- I need my very expensive wheels frequently changed-out for flat tires-- (OK, I have ADV.1's and Champion), so the "High End" guy recommended WT. Unfortunately, very soon after the recommend, I hit an ax-head on 680-S at the Sunol grade, while pulling left to let a motorcycle go by-- destroyed the Michelin all-season tire and badly dented the Champion forged wheel-- I don't know what the Champions cost now-- they quit making my model, but new I paid $1200-each, and since not available any more I wanted repaired-- Well, these guys did great--- finished on time, and the wheel looks new. They mounted the new Michelin without any marks nor incidents. They are the best secret installers around-- try them out. read more

Not sure whats up with all the prior bad experiences reflected for this place on yelp. I was so happy and impressed with the service I received from these guys that I felt I had to represent for them. I got four rims powder coated flat back in Dec 2010, for a more rugged off road look on my truck. The look, combined with drop-shipped new off road tires really gave me the agressive look i was after. I didn't have any spare rims, and they offered to garage my truck on jack stands at their shop for the duration of the refinishing which was only a week. No biggie, i carpooled with my wife for the week it took to get this done. I was treated like a VIP from start to finish. Then, this past February, i lost a center cap off of one of my rims, and noticed that some of the powder coat had flaked off probably from the cap flying off. I drove in, half expecting to have to cover the respray out of my own pocket, but these guys stepped up big time and covered this as part of their warranty. Fast forward to today - just happened across their yelp listing after referring a buddy here.... i'm aghast at all the negative reviews. All the previous comments are not indicative of the service I experienced at all. Based on my personal experience, I would highly recommend this shop, they do a damn good job, and stand behind their work. Give these guys a chance, you won't be sorry. read more

These guys do great work and have superb customer service! Thank you wheel techniques!

I took my CLS 63 AMG to get all four wheels refurbished as well as the front two calipers repainted. Oscar waited on me initially and gave me a great price. When I picked up the car I noticed we had some issues. He immediately agreed with my concerns and had it completely detailed on his dime. The guys did a great job and took care of me and took care of all the issues. Thanks Oscar. read more

Love this place! By far the best wheel repair shop. I went to over 3 different places, 1 said he would try but sounded so nervous that I couldn't trust him and the other 2 of them would not even touch my work equip with a 6 inch flat spot on the edge of the inner barrel. Finally heard about this place and went over. They have great prices for the work they do and amazing turnaround times. Took my rim in and picked it back up the next day. Rim looked almost brand new and I paid half of what I was going to pay for had I bought a new barrel a day later. Had them fix my bend and machine my hub bores to have my e36 wheels fit my e39. Took my wheels here to repair 2 small cracks on the lips from hitting a pothole in these fine bay area roads. The cracks were just thin hairline cracks less than a quarter inch long and still held air just leaked a little over a period of a few days. When I got my wheels back I was furious. They had grinded a 2 inch wide gap in my wheel lip and the welds were the worst welding job I've ever personally seen. It doesn't even look like welds it looks like a 2 inch wide blob of soldering iron work. And now that part of my wheel is so thin due to them grinding it to death it just cracked in the same spot a couple weeks later. They charged me 250 to make my $2600 wheels worthless. I will never come back or recommend this place to anyone. read more

Apologies in advance cuz this will be long. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! Took my bent rim in to WT after speaking to Oscar on phone abt repairing it. Receptionist asked him to come to office when I got there. He comes to the door & he's scrolling on his phone. No greeting. No "how can I help u"? This goes on for at least a min. Finally looks at me but still doesn't say anything. I explain why I'm there & I leave the rim with him. Pick up rim & the only good thing I can say is they did an excellent job on the repair. Put rim back on my car & take it for test drive. Within 10 mins both the tire pressure & low pressure sensors come on. Pull over immediately. My tire is shredded. I think WT re-installed the tps improperly after the repair because after my tire was removed, it was broken in 3 pieces. Drove on my tires almost 2 years with no probs. WT works on my rim & my tire explodes within minutes. Took rim & damaged tire back to shop after calling & explaining what happened. To me, they owe me a new tire & a new tps, altho my biggest concern was making sure my rim wasn't damaged. When I 1st picked up my rim the receptionist told me I had a year warranty. She said: If anything happens, well nothing is going to happen, we'll fix it for free. We removed the blown tire & put on a spare tire & a spare tps just to get it off the fwy & home. I showed Oscar the blown tire & basically he told me the tire was bad & that's why it failed. When I questioned that, he said: You had a bent rim right? Driving it on a bent rim probably damaged the tire. The problem with that is I DIDN'T drive it. I removed the tire when the bend happened & I told him that. He had no answer. Also, if the tire was bad, you didn't notice that when u put it back on & let us know? Hmmm. I moved on to the tps. It was in 3 jagged pieces. He told me the sensor part was undamaged & just needed a new valve. I'm like, yeah no. I told him to just check the soundness of the rim. I walked out of the shop then returned a min later to tell him I wanted my spare tps returned to me. He was telling another employee that the tire had failed and he was laughing about it until he saw me. Wasn't expecting me to come back obviously. This is the kind of guy he is My husband called him a few mins after I left & told him he owed us a new tire & at the very least a NEW tps. Oscar called my husb later that day, told him the spare tire was OFF the rim & asked him if he wanted it to stay off or be put back on. My husb told him to leave it off. Next day Oscar calls me. Says rim is fine & asked me if I want spare tire off or back on rim. I said off. Go to shop to pick up rim. Oscar tells me: Didn't have time to take tire off yet. I say: Well can u do it now? He says: My guy's not here. I'm like: Really? I told my husb before I went that Oscar wanted to leave the tire on because we wouldn't be able to see that he did NOT get a new tps. He said the tire was off & asked us both if we wanted it on or off. We both said off. Soooo...why is the tire on the rim then?? Because he never took it off. For 10 mins he rotated the tire on the machine then ultimately said it "won't come off". Hmmm. Really? Told me the tps had been reinstalled. I said: A new one? He said: No. I told u it was fine. I just replaced the valve. Broken in 3 pieces. But it's fine. Uh huh. Sure it is. The most galling thing is they have a HUGE red sign in their office that goes on & on about how customer service is their #1 priority and if for ANY reason you're not 100% satisfied they'll make it right. What a joke. My tire was fine before I took it to WT then failed immediately after I put it back on. They took zero responsibility & blamed the customer for their mistake. Stay far, FAR away from WT. read more
