June 26, 2026 I called earlier this morning to see if I can come in at 5pm for a repair, nail in the tire. After work of course. The guy whom I spoke to, again friendly said he could help for sure but it would be better to make an appointment. I said I don't see the point of making an appointment since their team doesn't get to the people who have appointments on time. Had another experience for an 8am appointment and they didn't get to me for 40 minutes after Intaking people and talking for so long. He said that must have been a one off and they try to get everyone out in under an hour. I said I'll make the appointment but I don't want to wait 1.5 hrs for a repair. It's not fair to me to have to just wait. He makes an appointment at 4pm. 4pm rolls around, I'm there at 4:05pm. Traffic in Fremont is bad at that time. They didn't intake (see me) at my appoint until 4:45......... Then they look at my tires goes and talks to their team who says it'll be ready at 5:45pm. AGAIN!!!!! WHAT IS THE POINT OF THE APPOINTMENT IF YOUR NOT GOING TO HONOR THE APPOINTMENT!!!! Anyways....what their team needs to do is stop allowing customers to stand there looking at each tire on the website deciding which one they want. One guy alone helped a man and his son for 40 minutes!!!!!! What's the point of the appointment?

The location was very busy, so I went to the front desk and was told to go to the air-check area first. I asked if they could put my name on the waitlist since the line was so long, but the employee told me the air check would only take about three minutes and that the wait wouldn't be bad. I pulled up to the air-check area and was the second car in line. A technician then told me that air checks were the front desk's responsibility. After waiting another 20 minutes, the same front desk employee came outside and told me I was in the wrong spot and would now have to go to the back of the line. When I pushed back and explained that I had followed his instructions, he refused to help me, saying he couldn't because I was in the wrong spot. The frustrating part is that he was the person who told me where to go in the first place and never explained that I needed to be somewhere else. The owner of this location really needs to reassess the customer service at the front desk. I've always had great experiences with America's Tire, so this was extremely disappointing. I ended up leaving without receiving any help and drove to the Livermore location, where I was helped wonderfully. I highly recommend the Livermore location, but I would avoid this location at all costs.

In June 2025, I needed to get my brake pads replaced. Instead of taking it to my trusted mechanic, I thought "Les Schwab specializes in this sort of thing so they must be the pros." I was wrong. Les Schwab is a sales machine that happens to work on cars, and not even that well. Instead of quoting for pad replacement and brake bleeding, they insisted that their policy only allows pad changes to be accompanied by rotor and caliper replacement. I've done brake work on cars and motorcycles but I felt it was difficult to argue with someone who does it professionally. After meticulously bedding in the pads, they started to squeak. In September of that same year I was able to carve out some time and have the squeak addressed. The looked at it and sanded it down for an hour. I asked them what caused it and the technician basically told me he didnt know. After a week it started squeaking again. I couldnt bring it back to get the squeak addressed (again) until August 2026 because I was working a contract job and didnt have the flexibility to take unpaid leave. They had the car for 3 hours. They found a leaky piston and replaced it since it was under warranty. Then upon handing the car back, I drove off and immediately noticed that the brake pedal required twice the distance to press to stop. I even had to adjust my seat to get full travel. I brought it back and asked them to bleed it. They said they already did, but would do it again. They had me wait an hour before it went back into the bay to be serviced (I felt they were waiting for me to just say "Forget it" and leave). They brought the car out after being in there for less than 15 minutes. I pressed the brake and told him it felt the same. He said "I mean we can bleed it a third time but it'll be the same. It stops good." At that point I had enough of the slow service, technicians giving me half answers. I suspected that when they replaced the single leaky caliper, they only bled that side. Two days later I took my car to Anson in Fremont. Told them the situation. They put it on a lift, bled all 4 wheels twice. The mechanic had me do a test drive while he was in the passenger seat. It felt right. Thanks Anson, and no thanks to Les Schwab. Never taking my car there again, even if it is warranty work. btw, they asked me to fill out a survey. I gave them my honest take (not just all bottom scores, but definitely below average). And then the last question was "would you like to be contacted about this review" and I said yes and selected "by email". they called me and I told them I had selected "email". He said, "well we're already on the phone. Want to just talk about it?" Talk about gas lighting. No thanks.

Tesla will go to your location and fix the flat or replace the same brand of tire if needed. I was not aware of this service until my son reminded me. I had a complete flat tire in my garage and called Geico. The tow truck driver came and took me to Universal Tire because I heard this place was fast and competitive. The shop took off my tire and tested the leak and said I need to replace the tire because there are two punctures and they are too close to each other. The shop said I need to replace two tires instead of one and the cost was going to be around $1,000 for the exact same brand on my 2025 model Y. I did not feel comfortable about this situation so I left. The lesson I learned is to contact Tesla if I ever have a flat tire in the future. Tesla technician came within an hour and fixed the tire for a total of $103 because the puncture was only in one spot and the tire could be plugged. Tesla did provide an initial quote to replace a new tire for $395 in case it really needed. I was ok with that and Tesla did not say I needed to replace both tires. The technician did this work in his mobile van and he explained to me about his test and what he did to fix the tire. I was both surprised and happy. Tesla technician (Manny) was really helpful and HONEST. This may be an isolated case with Universal tires & wheel but I just want to share my experience and hope this helps others.

At the end of each day, they cleaned up and put away the tools so the house was still accessible. It's crazy how different the house looks compared to before. I'm just loving it! Then over the winter, Chris' team returned because I wanted my garage refinished. I had 70s paneling and broken/crumbling dry wall. Considering how much time I spend in my garage, I can't believe I lived with such an eye sore for so many years. I gave Chris the hard task of wanting smooth walls, and if you know...that's a whole lot of sanding. His team came through and delivered! I love the new paint color on the walls, and no longer despise my garage. Oh, and also want to mention that he also patched up a bunch of holes inside my house (from electrical work I had done) and matched the existing wall texture and paint. You can't even tell the difference. Overall, Chris is amazing to work with. He's super responsive via text/calls. I had a terrible time with the gentleman who owned the shop in front of theirs, who lied and told me I was in the right place, which wasn't corrected until I called Fremont Auto Center looking for an update. Jack personally went next door to check on my car, and offered me 10% off repairs. I was told I could drop my car off the next day without needing another appointment. I met Sal, who has such a wonderful and charming personality, and it was great to meet Jack in person, too. Within an hour, I had the full analysis and estimate, and around 2:30, a couple of hours before closed, I was called and told the car wouldn't be finished, and asked if I'd like to come pick it up for the weekend (which I declined, we didn't need it!). The prices were fair, and their system of telling you what absolutely needs work versus what they recommend to be worked on was so great in helping me understand what was wrong with the car. My experience with them made me tell my husband that I'd drive to them if we ever moved out of the area. I can't recommend this place enough (just make sure you drive all the way to the green building and dont let anyone stop you like I did!)

I know it can be difficult to get a hold of him but once you understand how he works it all makes sense. He's not going to pick up a phone call and he won't respond back too text right away because he's working with his hands. That means he's spending the same quality time with your parts when it's your turn. I am building out a new BBK and wanted to overhaul the entire thing. I've called around and they shops will nickle and dime you for every part of the service. Everything costs extra. Nick has one set price and it's very reasonable (it's CHEAPER than places I've called). He cleaned, media blasted, power coated, applied stickers, clear coated and rebuilt all of my calipers. I just provided him the rebuild seal kit. He was very realistic about his time frame and delivered on schedule. It was less than two weeks. He does a full time job and does his own business after. He's extremely hard working.
