Cody responded to my message within a day and was able to work around my schedule to come out and try to find the issue. Cody was able to find the issue, fix it, and correct a laundry list of issues that the last roofer left and it cost me 1/10th what it would have cost to replace the whole thing. I am seriously impressed with his work, work ethic, and expertise and will recommend him to all of my friends if they ever need a roofer.

With the possibility of snow any day, it was urgent for us to get the roof repaired as soon as possible. We called several local roofing companies, One never called back, and the other promised to send someone within 24 hours but no one ever showed up or called. That's when we called The Shingle Company. Brian returned our call right away and came out the next day to examine the damage. He took photos, which confirmed it was a fairly large hole created by a raccoon (we could see the claw marks), and gave us a reasonable quote. Then he came the following day to make the repairs, took more photos and explained exactly what he did. The entire process took less than 48 hours from the initial phone call to completion. Now that's great service! When you have a hole in your roof, timing is of the essence. The Shingle Company was fast, reliable and fairly priced and we wouldn't hesitate to work with them again.

Made it just in time before the holidays, thank goodness. We had a closer and significantly cheaper bid (basically 1/3 of this company's charge) but they were not available Wed the 19th, and with the holidays and weather changing...could not risk waiting. Wed was the last sunny 50s day and all went well. Customer service was good. Workers were on time and completed tasks appropriately. Dings on stars for 2 things... the install isn't as even and perfect as I prefer (the tops and flashing pipes are not straight and it looks like the shingles were not peeled back evenly and placed back over the pipes fully on the lower bottoms)... and the owner said he would send me a receipt when the check cleared. Usually receipts are given at time of payment. Seems strange and made me pause. Note... it's been a week, pretty sure the check has cleared. Hmm. No receipt yet. *\(^o^)/*

I found this company on Angie's List, and called them to fix a small problem on our roof left by…read morethe previous owner. (Bad installation and hurried removal of satellite dish). During thunderstorms we had water leaking in from holes in the roof and causing stains inside the master bedroom closet. Spoke to John, who told me it would not be a problem and their man Carlos would be out the next morning between 10 and 12 am. John also said their service call charge of $125 would cover any needed repairs. Sure enough, next morning 9:30 am - Carlos shows up. I was happy to see him, because a leaky roof gets to be an urgent problem with every rainstorm. So he got to work... turns out that we have architectural shingles, not the other (plain?) kind that he had brought for us. But he got up there, and assessed the damage. There were one or two holes left by the dish base that he said he could just quickly caulk. But he said he would go all the way - he replaced the shingles and caulked the holes underneath. He had actually brought architectural shingles for another job but used them on ours. He also walked the rest of the roof and nailed down a few places he saw were loose/ lifting. (exhaust vent pipes, etc.) I then asked him to check the north side (last year, our home inspector had documented a loose soffit), and Carlos found/fixed that for us. He even took pictures at my request of the satellite dish damage, and of the soffit before/after, and emailed them to me from his phone. All in all, he spent 2 hours on the roof. We then went indoors and I showed him the water damage from the leak, and we discussed it a bit. I grabbed the chance and asked him for help putting my shower door back in place (it popped off the pivot hinges a week ago - old - no parts available - $$$ for new door) and he was able to get it back in place with me helping a little. That alone saved me a ton of grief! Carlos then talked to John on the phone about the bill, and they charged me $25 extra for the soffit (total $150). I gladly paid - it was very reasonable given the number of problems he took care of. Big KUDOS to Carlos for going above and beyond. In conclusion - if you want a great, local company that doesn't put you on a waiting list and then charge $$$.... ask for RoofTech Systems. They are on Angie's List, so that's saying something. There need to be more people like Carlos in this world.

I'm very particular about any work being done and I'm also the type of person that shops around for everything, trying to find the best price and quality I can find for a project. There are many reasons I've continued to hire them over and over again, and will do so in the future, including: 1. their incredible customer service (always easy to get hold of, explains everything completely, offers options, show up when they say they will, handles all the permits, clear cost estimates upfront/no hidden fees, etc.), 2. Quality products (use quality building materials and options, offered up new technology options for venting that I'd never even heard of, great guarantees on roof, etc.), 3. Great work by a great crew (pays attention to details, honored my special requests, are quick (all of my roof jobs were completed in a day, including tear off and install), incredible cleanup of the area including picking up all nails, materials, so you wouldn't even know they were there) 4. Stand by their work (if I ever had a concern or a question about any of their work, they always addressed it and took care of it immediately if necessary, without a problem), 5. Extremely Fair and Affordable (Price for me with Ace Roofing was always the best around, and Ted always treated me fairly and was very upfront regarding any costs. With one job, a stray shingle that was removed and discarded from the roof accidentally scraped one of my window screens on the way down, which can happen with any roofing tear-off. Ted apologized and gladly reimbursed me for a brand new screen. You just don't see this type of customer service much any more these days)

We recently had Andres Roofing & Construction replace the roof on our classic Chicago two-flat, and…read moreI can't say enough good things about the entire experience. After speaking with three different companies, we chose Andres Roofing because Sergio was by far the most knowledgeable and transparent. He explained every detail about the job, including the materials they'd use, and ensured that everything would meet State Farm's requirements, which was a huge deal for us, as we were forced to replace our roof just to keep our insurance. Here's what was included: they installed 2 inches of insulation and a fully-adhered 60mil white energy-efficient TPO roof membrane from GAF EverGuard. They also swapped out our old gutter for a new 6" galvanized commercial-grade gutter, put in a new 5" round galvanized downspout, replaced two 8" roof vents, and installed a new wooden roof hatch. Everything was explained clearly, and we got to see photos and videos of every step, thanks to Sergio's drone and camera work. The project ended up costing a bit more than we planned--$28,553.50 in total--because once the old roof was off, they found 130 linear feet of rotted decking, three sheets of plywood that needed replacing, and 21 pieces of coping that were in bad shape. Sergio didn't just spring these costs on us; he showed us exactly what was wrong and explained why the extra work was needed. I really appreciated the honesty and the way he kept us in the loop. The crew was fantastic. They showed up early, brought their own portable restroom so they didn't have to come in and out of our building, and cleaned up every day (three truckloads of old roofing gone!). They were polite, respectful to our neighbors, and even helped someone carry a heavy item up the stairs--totally above and beyond. We also got all the paperwork up front--licenses, insurance, everything--which made us feel secure. Payment was straightforward: half up front, the rest when the job was done, and we got a detailed invoice. Best of all, we now have a 10-year warranty covering all labor and workmanship, so we know we're protected moving forward. If you own a traditional Chicago brick two-flat or need a commercial roof replacement, I can't recommend Andres Roofing & Construction enough. They made a stressful situation so much easier with their professionalism, communication, and quality of work. I'm genuinely grateful for how everything turned out.

I strongly recommend staying away from this roofing company…read more After a devastating storm hit Homewood, my home sustained significant damage. The company initially responded quickly and installed a tarp to protect the home from additional rain damage. Unfortunately, my experience went downhill from there. I was initially provided an invoice for one amount. After my insurance adjuster became involved and met with the roofing company, I received another invoice only three days later that was approximately $4,000 higher--even though there had been no corresponding change to the scope of work. My insurance adjuster also noticed that the price being charged for wood had increased within those few days. Then, after the work was completed, we received yet another invoice for an even higher amount. In total, this company gave us three different prices for essentially the same scope of work. The price increased after insurance became involved, and then increased again afterward. We repeatedly questioned these increases and did not receive an adequate explanation for why the same work continued to cost more. Even more concerning, I signed a proposal for an agreed-upon scope and amount and was given my copy. The company's version later reflected a higher amount than the document I had signed. Additional charges continued to appear throughout the process. I also found discrepancies between what was billed and what I could verify was actually completed. For example, the amount of plywood billed did not appear to correspond with the square footage or photographic documentation. Several items included within the agreed scope of work were not completed. The gutter guards were another issue. I did not request new gutter guards. I was told they were being installed at no additional charge, and I have Ring footage documenting that conversation. The company later attempted to charge me for them. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this company. Carefully document every conversation, keep your original copies of everything you sign, compare every invoice against the original scope of work, and verify that the work being billed was actually performed. I have documentation supporting my experience, including the three different prices/invoices, my copy of the signed proposal, photographs, communications, and Ring footage. I have also reported my concerns to the Better Business Bureau. I would not use this company again, and I would strongly caution others before signing anything or allowing this company to handle an insurance-related project.
