Grilled Chicken Sandwich and Medium Fries
    Steve D.

My dine-in, off-peak, early lunch at this new location was okay, with a reasonable wait time, a mostly correct order and a pretty tasty chicken sandwich. The #11 medium grilled chicken combo ($9.79) was served ten minutes after I ordered at the counter, where the service was accommodating and efficient. Everything was pretty tasty, and the "medium" fries and drink were rather large. My customized sandwich was correct, but the meal was packaged to go instead of dine-in, as ordered, and as shown on the order summary. I found the dining area to be clean and nice with a focus on cleanliness but without background music. They also offered two 24/7 drive-thru lanes outside - one of which was blocked off by cones. Overall, A-OK.

Whataburger is known for its deep ties to Patrick Mahomes and his affinity for their burgers. Our last visit to a Whataburger was nearly two and half years ago when the 135th and Antioch location in OP launched. With an abundance of locations in the city, it is safe to say the hype has died down. Here is our experience at this location in Olathe: Location: 9/10 135th and Blackbob has become a busy hub of food places, so you have a decent choice of food options. I have mentioned in previous reviews that Olathe is an exurb in some aspects, but the city is quickly getting on par with neighboring cities Overland Park and Lenexa as far as amenities are concerned. Customer Service: 6/10 One thing that Whataburger is consistent on is the mediocre customer service experience. If you are expecting stellar service, lower the bar quite a bit. You definitely are not going to feel warm, fuzzy, and appreciated like you would at a Chik-Fil-A. You will be lucky enough for an employee to muster half a smile during your interaction with them. Food: 8/10 After ordering our food, we did not wait very long, which was nice. I ordered a chicken sandwich while my husband ordered a double cheeseburger. Our meals came with fries and we both opted for shakes - Dr. Pepper and a vanilla shake. For the two of us, it was $26 bucks. The food was hot and fresh with good flavor. My sandwich was sloppily thrown together with sauce spilling over inside the wrapper. The DP shake was mid, and my husband enjoyed his vanilla shake. Hard to mess up one of those in my opinion, though. Bonus points for them getting the order correct, compared to last time. Overall: 7.5/10 It was just okay. Nothing to write home about. I agree with other Yelpers that Whataburger is consistently inconsistent. Given the current state of the economy, fast food isn't considered affordable anymore and is definitely considered a luxury for some. I do feel $26 is expensive for what Whataburger is. Though it is nice to have another fast food option in KC, I feel the Mahomes factor is not enough for me to be wowed.

I'll say this, Whataburger is consistently inconsistent. This is a Mahome's branded franchise, unlike the corporate junk Whataburger down the street. The 159th street Mahomes franchise out off 69 highway is pretty good at what they do - most of the time - so I figured we'd give this new location a little closer to home a try. It looked clean enough, but there were a lot of staff just mulling around, young folks with not much to do, and in a kitchen that's a bad sign. There is ALWAYS something to be doing - ALWAYS. I worked in kitchens before, trust me, standing around is purely a lack of imagination or a perfectionist mindset. Hell, have them clean the light bulbs. Anyway, these guys made a functional meal, however they shorted me on the fries by I'd say, half, and the White Chocolate Raspberry shake was definitely - if I had to bet on it - vanilla. Weak. Building a meal in a place like this is like Legos, so you just plug the red block into the mustard block, and viola! Pretty easy stuff; trying at times, to be sure, no joke, but simple. But when in doubt, just give them too much and they'll be happy. But my burger was dry, falling apart, and with the other things, I'd say this was squarely NOT a 3rd Down conversion. We had to punt, and that's okay. But for $18 simoleons! Give me a break here, Hoss! I'm kicking it through the uprights all day fer' ya'; Kick it back in kind. I don't know. Like I said: consistently inconsistent. Maybe it's the new paint jitters, or staff just doesn't have the gumption yet. But when it's poppin' it works. Often it's not, and in Whataburger's case it's becoming too often.

    Whataburger Patty Melt

Not sure what the hype is but unfortunately I was not impressed. This being our first time here we didn't know what to expect. So my son and I arrived around 9pm on a Thursday night craving some burgers. We had to wait about 10-12mins before someone came up to help us which worked out I guess because it gave us time to finalize our order. I ordered a basic single patty Whataburger and my son got plain double patty melt with no onions. Our order came out and my son's melt had onions on it so he had go back up to the counter. Waited 8-10mins before someone came up to help and then wait another 6-7mins before a new one came out with unmelted cheese. Not a huge deal and was still pretty good. My burger was ok nothing special. My only complaint is the amount of mustard that was on it. The entire top bun was soaked with mustard and I'm just not a huge fan of mustard. I don't hate it I just don't prefer it. To be honest the burger itself reminded me of a whopper but unfortunately not quite as good.‍

Great food and service as expected from a Texas born franchise. Airport traffic was busy, but overall wait time was short.

First of all, the tables are far enough apart that you don't feel crowded and the whole vibe is really nice and relaxing. Our server, BODHE, was very attentive, quick, friendly and knowledgeable about our menu questions. He kept our drink glasses filled and checked on us frequently. Between our party of 8, we ordered the All Burger No BS, the Diablo Burger, the Mac and Cheese with bacon, another M and C with brisket, a Smash Burger and a grilled cheese. We had fries and tots and although their fries are really good, the tater tots are EXCELLENT! Their specialty dipping sauces are great as well. Most of us were too full for shakes but someone had a Birthday Bash shake and it was good too. This was my husband's and my 2nd time eating here but the first time for everyone else. BIG PORTIONS and REASONABLE PRICES!! Check them out soon!!

I guess that's what napkins are for. On our visit for a late lunch recently, they weren't very busy and the service was good. I asked for medium temp on my sandwich but what we both got was well-done. The french fries were hot and crispy and I really like the presentation--in a mini fryer basket. I'm hoping the over-cooked hamburger was a fluke and will give them another try. They certainly have a great reputation.

Overall - fun and quirky environment with lots of yummy food options…read more Menu: EXTENSIVE menu with lots of options to choose from... to the point that it can get a lil overwhelming. Thankfully most items have a reference picture so it was easier to gauge what you're getting, which I appreciated. I'd recommend getting the Honky Tonky (with bbq sauce on the side) bc it was a perfect balance of salty and sweet. Other burgers were good too (not all were shown n some I forgot the names), so high chance they'll turn out good. Appetizers id recommend (not shown) is the Spare Parts Appetizer that lets you sample a lot. Several were good like the jalapeños n cheese curds. As for the price and portion though, I don't think it was that worth it.... The burgers aren't that big compared to other places and the fries portion was kinda small too. So for the price of $20 after tax, just not worth it. Yummy but I could always get burgers somewhere else too. Atmosphere: if you're into cars, bikes, all the edgy garage and western decor, you'll like this place. It was fun to look around and see how this place was decorated. It can be a lot though. In terms of space wise, lots of rooms and tables around. We had a party of 11 and were thankfully able to make it work on a busy day. Service: our server was chill and patient with us. Felt like our burgers came out at a reasonable timeframe. Summary: was good and even though yummy, probably more of a 1 visit every few months bc the portion to price ratio isnt it imo :( especially if I can get burgers and fries in bigger (n refillable) elsewhere. Would highly recommend trying though!!

The result is a delicious burger so fresh you wonder if the cow is still alive. LOL. Boulevard Burgers is tucked inside the Food Court at Johnson County Community College. They have a lock on burgers because they are the only restaurant in the Food Court that serves burgers. This monopoly, though, does not make them any more expensive or the quality any less. In fact, just the opposite. I think maybe they are the only food company because of their prices and quality. Yum, yum! You order at the small counter. They put the patty on the grill and you can see the whole process. Then you dress it up with fresh, fresh, fresh veggies. They have lettuce, tomatoes, onions and all sorts of goodies. You put your own condiments on your burger which ensures it is to your liking. The menu is limited but that does not seem to be a problem. They have delicious grilled cheese sandwiches on Fridays only. I have no idea why only Fridays but it gives you something to look forward to during a long week. They have veggie burgers, pork fritters, brats, hot dogs, chili dogs and all sorts of yummies. They have fries and delicious onion rings (sucker for onion rings). The staff is always helpful and friendly. They are happy to answer your silly questions and they are also happy to custom cook your food. I have never had a bad customer service experience here. Everything is reasonably priced and they have two price options for burgers. There is a value burger and a regular priced, bigger burger. Small or large... they are great burgers. There is also no doubt as to their freshness. Try it out.. you will not be disappointed.
